READ STICKIES. READ FORUM UPDATES. This is a TEMPORARY theme until they can replace it. Which is VERY LOW on their PRIORITY LIST. So DEAL with IT.

I think avatar sizes went down a little bit. I had to lower the size of the avatar I'd been using for ages because it was too large. But meh :P.

Welcome to the New Era
I've worked as staff at two forums that implemented PhpBB3 recently and it is a drastic change for most users. But guess what, you will get used to it.

Depends on what type of each. You can have a clip in a rifle and a magazine in a pistol.

The United States - What Has Become of It?
It's not. The economy really has little to do with what President is in charge, and aside from "booster shots" you can't just make the economy spin on a dime. We had a 9 trillion dollar debt with Bill, having a few billion in surplus every year is not going to change that. You don't save surpluses, you use them. Especially in Bill's money-hungry government. If we really wanted to cut back on government spending, we'd reduce government. There are thousands of unneeded jobs in Washington alone, each worth about 50-70 thousand annually. Clinton was guilty of it, Bush was, too. As for the economy, it is perking back up a bit. It always dips up and down, God help the fool who is in charge when it does, though.

The United States - What Has Become of It?
What's scary is that the CSA would probably do better now than the United States would :P. The problem with the US is that we can't decide if we are a democracy or a republic. The two are constantly fighting each other.

The universe
The theory has been around since the 50's, though. That's why Roddenberry used it in Star Trek. It's still considered to be one of the most feasible methods of FTL ability. I never said we weren't a long ways off (I'd like it to be like Trek in the regards that we do it in 2063) but here's to the future.

U.S bankrupt in T minus....
Another fun fact: Democrats always criticize Republican Candidates who offer tax cuts as "only giving tax cuts to the Rich). In fact, these tax cuts affect the Wealthy and Middle class equally. But what about those shafted poor people who don't get the tax cuts that the Democrats always tell you about? Simple. PEOPLE BELOW THE POVERTY LINE DO NOT PAY TAXES, AND HAVE NOT SINCE THE 1930'S! Oh my God! Democrats lying to us! (Republicans are guilty of it too, but for this example it's mostly Democrats.)

The next level of Republican scandal...
There are Democrats engaged in the same scandals, there are policemen there to protect us who beat up people, there are doctors who molest their patients... Trying to use the human condition as a weapon against a political party you are not fond of can not be justified. There is no logical point, it's just a "lol, Republicans" type statement. It has no bearing on anything except to stir up hatred. It's like the Westboro Church thread. That group in no way represents the whole of Christianity, but that topic was posted to bash it in the first place.

U.S bankrupt in T minus....
Interesting facts: The United States has spent 350 billion US Dollars on the Iraq War and occupation since 2001. The Internal Revenue Service (started by liberals and almost completely unnecessary) spends 500 billion dollars ANNUALLY. That is almost two Iraq Wars per YEAR. If the US dropped the Federal Income Tax and moved to a generalized 9% Sales Tax (work with the states so they don't overlap) the IRS would not be required, and the US would save 500 billion dollars a year. In addition, everyone would make more money on their paychecks, and people in States that already have the sales tax would not even notice the Federal Sales tax.

The next level of Republican scandal...
I'm with mrpez on this oneSorry if I allowed myself a bit of schadenfreude after eight years of W, but I just can't help it when the party that claims to be hard on traditional morals and national security produces all sorts of major and minor scandals relating to anything from prostitution to seducing underage boys to, in this case, funding international terrorism. It's human nature, and has nothing to do with what Party you belong to, what you believe in, what your race or religion is... Sometimes, sadly, there are depraved people among us. They usually are from low levels of society or extremely high levels.

Bush Tells Israeli's Should get out of Arab Land
Guys, Israel owns Palestine. Palestine sold ALL of it's land to Israel in 1948, peacefully. And trust me, throughout the 50's there was a move in Israel towards a separate Palestinian state. Until the generals who had lost their power in Palestine rallied Egypt, Lebanon, Syria, and Jordan to all attack Israel. Israel earned the Gaza Strip in blood. You guys have no clue how CLOSE Israel was to using tactical nuclear arms to defend themselves. By the grace of God, they managed to turn the ground war around and go on the offensive. There has been no apology from Egypt over the senseless violence they wrought, and until that apology comes Israel has every right to the Gaza strip. And if it weren't for the greed of man, Palestine might have gotten Sovereign Statehood (like the U.S. grants Guam and Puerto Rico).

Gay's can't donate blood-it's the law
I really hope I'm wrong here, but are you saying that genes can be transmitted through blood transfusions and to the kids of those who recieve the transfusions? It seems that you're saying that if gayness is partly genetic and gays give blood transfusions, that their 'gay' blood and genes will somehow result in the kids of the transfusion recipients being gay? Again, I really hope I'm wrong. :? It sounds like the guy who at the hospital I was volunteering at asked me to make sure they gave him the right color blood.

U.S bankrupt in T minus....
Actually, most of that nine trillion is covered by collaterals. So we aren't TRULY in that much debt, but that's the monetary value of all of what we owe (most of which is covered). And Guthix121, lol. I think we are covered if the Mexicans and Canadians attempt to sack us.

U.S bankrupt in T minus....
Uh...It's GOING to happen, every competent analyst in the U.S. can confirm that.

We might as well upgrade to PhBB3. It's fully released now (I know we had doubts about upgrading to the RC versions). I've seen too many PhBB2 boards hacked recently.

have you ever broke the rules?
Back in high school we had to go in the front entrance and undergo a safety check (metal detectors, etc). A group of us always went in through the band hall year round to circumvent it. It rocked.

Same as Bush, privatize it. Which in my opinion would stop abuse, streamline the system and actually make it useful.

U.S bankrupt in T minus....
And when Bush brought this up years ago, everyone laughed like it wasn't their problem. I've already invested in my future and am estimating about 2.3 million dollars will be saved up for my retirement (and I haven't even started factoring in money I will add to the CD's). I've known for years that Social Security won't be paying me a red cent.

Gay's can't donate blood-it's the law
Warri0r: All it takes is a $100 processing fee to start a lawsuit. You can bet your kiester that anyone can sue anyone for anything. The hospital can't deny a patient medical treatment because they refuse to sign a release.

Gay's can't donate blood-it's the law
I found this bit interesting. I mean, let's say the hypothetical comes true and you're going to die with the only chance of life being a blood donation from a gay man. Could they somehow separate the 'gay' samples from the 'straight' samples (I know it sounds bad, but go with me here) and give the dying person a choice to take the 'gay' blood (and hence live) but be fully informed of the risked infection of HIV? Same procedure for needle users, etc, or is it too much red tape and paperwork? Something to think about. Too much red tape. There's a heavy risk that even if the patient is given the risk, they have the legal right to sue the hospital if they contract HIV/AIDS.

Gay's can't donate blood-it's the law
You're going to compare being gay to prostitution and needle based druga usage? :wall: No? If you were educated on the subject, prostitution and drug use carry risk of HIV/AIDS. The same reason that this law prevents homosexuals from giving blood. You have to realize (you probably were not alive at the time) that in the 1980's, the Western world was going NUTS over HIV/AIDS. I will give you that this law is probably outdated, but it made sense for it's time. It was not a law based on far-right values or made to "gay-bash."
