  1. How can we go from a lame topic on a overly enthusiastic scientist's drunken claim after a late night party to a flame war? I didn't mean the part about the drunken party, but it is speculation. Plus, the topic is still lame :P.

Exactly. I would have smacked my kid for such a smart-[wagon] comment. Sarcasm tends to piss off a large portion of the population. I especially would not reccomend it on your parents, if they are not the cynical type. And they have the right to punish you. Especially if you are going to act that way around them, then come brag about how "righteous" you are to an internet forum.
  3. 100%? If they weren't in it for the money, they never would have started this game.
  4. Possibly Flipside, then? It deals a bit with those two fields, but is geared for your age.
  5. They have me doing a 25-35 page research paper this semester on the urban history of Europe. Hope you have fun with it!
  6. Geez, I used to watch Outlar Star on Toonami waaaaaaaay back in the day. I miss those days. And when Adult Swim was pretty much the late-night Toonami before it became stoner central.
  7. It would help to know what kind of science you are interested in. There are science magazines from Art to Zoology.
  8. :o Don't hold your breath. Hunter took two years and Construction took 5.
  9. I stopped reading at the blast staff.
  10. My thoughts exactly.. You two are the "'tards" here. Learn to make some input or shut up and don't spam. I don't really mind Atheists, as long as they don't try to convert me or call my religion crap. And, as Barihawk said, I've never seen a Christian truly force their religion upon someone who didn't agree, but it is in our duties as followers of that faith to preach the word, however it says no where that we must make others convert. then why when i was an aethiest was i constantly called devil worshipper by confused teenagers and shunned by christian family >.< If you are being serious about the way people treat you, then those people suck at being Christians. But I don't feel I am getting the whole story here. Regardless: Christ summed it up pretty well when he said "let he who is without sin, cast the first stone." Christians have no right judging others by the laws of God. Only God is the Judge in that regard.
  11. Anyone remember Locke? This guy is Locke reincarnated... Future lawyers ftw. He lacks Locke's self control, though. And I am still convinced that Locke and Kant created their accounts here just for the point of debating in these topics. Perhaps even another forum member? The overuse of philosophy and the avatars are too eerily similar.
  12. Superson, if you actually read that thread, it says "Do not suggest these because they are so commonly suggested." In fact, several items on that list have a "Will not be added, ever" statement, meaning the others could be added, but don't suggest them because there are 10 billion other suggestions of the similar nature.
  13. Guys, I've lost the address to the OoC website, does anyone happen to have a quick link for me? After a link is posted, a moderator can lock the topic :).
  14. I am bumping this, just because the discussion rocks :P. I will also rebalance the Lancer armor in relation to modern armors since this discussion was started.
  15. Microwave radiation hates metal. Try sticking a fork in there and watch the fireworks.
  16. Oh not another person who gets their internet life mixed up with their social life! :P Just Joking. :--) By the way on topic, a lot of athiest out there don't respect people's religions, in fact a lot even despise the thought of someone believing in their faith and rejecting the world's way of thinking. Just another bit of hypocrisy, when they expect us to believe their theories are fact, even when they aren't proven. Please, eels, don't mix atheism with science. The two are completely different. Just because atheists often accept science dosen't make science atheistic. Don't even bring science into it. That's just a way for one side to justify themselves over the other. Both sides believe in science, for Pete's sake.
  17. So telling us without question that what we believe in is bunk isn't pushing your beliefs on us? I don't care what you believe, as long as you don't force it on others. But the Bible tell you to preach the word, so hence you have to do it. There's a subtle difference to preaching the word, and forcing it upon people. We usually only preach to people who wish to listen. I've never heard of a sane Christian tying someone down and making them listen to the Bible.

  19. Who said most Creationists don't believe the big bang? Most theological scholars do.
  20. Ya'll are too recent. Given time :P...
  21. Are you saying someone shouldn't have the right to question and challenge the faith of millions? Yet consistently on these boards, those who do challenge and question the popular beliefs get flamed for it. A little hypocritical, eh? I don't know what you're referring to. Let's see. I make a statement that goes against one's belief in evolution, which we can safely say to be the faith of millions. And look what happens. I get 5 posts within 20 minutes telling me I am nothing but wrong, and that my belief held by millions wrong by proxy.

  23. It's a blank in space. No stars, no planets, nothing. It's the cosmic equivalent to the Doldrums. Explorers would go mad trying to cross it, theres absolutely nothing. Why would people go mad if they crossed it? Oh, and yay!!! My 1,000th post!!! Could you stand to look at nothing for 10-15 years? [/hide] That's a billion years at the least  And wouldn't you blow up if you entered it? Like the same thing as when you are really high up the atmosphere? :-k Not in a spacecraft.
