Problems with Screen and Runescape HD!! Flickering graphics?
For temperatures, there's Speedfan that is pretty much a good free program to check the temperatures. You have to press configure to see what is what though, exept if you easily recognize what they say on the "front page" of the program.

New to Vista
Another stupid question: Did you disable UAC from the control panel? Yes to both questions.

New to Vista

New to Vista
Hi, I just bought a laptop a few days ago that has Vista home premium on it. As a lot of you I suppose, I turned off UAC, but I still have some icons on the desktop that has some shields as you will see in the following screenshot. I have had some help to get rid of them, but it didn't work. I can work with it, it doesn't matter, but it's just for the way it looks. Also, since I turned off UAC, I have that little red shield with the X in it telling me to reactivate it each time I start the computer. Is there a way to stop it from doing that? [hide=Big image][/hide] Second thing, I tryed to install my printer, but I don't know how to since it says I need to run on administrative account, and the thing is, it's the only account I can go in while on regular Windows, means it's the admin account. Could someone help me with that? Thank you in advance for those that can help me :)

No, it doesn't. I think we could continue using Pm though since it's being off topic :). I'd like to know where you're going .

Logging In
Yeah or Safari or Opera and see if it works. Heh... If only that were the case... What's needed here is a solution to allow ABP to remain running in FireFox, since Jagex is likely hitting all the browsers with these adverts, and put an end to the advert-forcing tyranny. (In my case, I'm not allowed to disable ABP, so I need a solution that works with ABP and keeps the adverts out.) Remember, switching browsers is not the solution to everything. :| ~D. V. Devnull Why don't you use your AV software to block the ads? That's what I do. Maybe I could download ABP to try and see if it really is ABP doing this.

Those are administrative tasks. Are you an administrator? Yes, I am administrator on that account, the only one on the laptop btw. Pretty apparent that I'm new to Vista eh? lol

Dreams
Returned, that dream seemd nice! As for me, I only rarely remember dreams, but I forget them 5 minutes after waking up. The only dreams I remember longer, are premonitions. Those actually happen a few months and on some occasions a few years after I dreamed of it, and I often have a "deja vu" feeling anywhere I am.

Avater or Avatar? :P As for me, here's my July desktop (I don't change it often though). [hide=][/hide] And here's from my brand new Laptop, that I bought yesterday :). Haven't changed much of the settings and all yet, I don't think I'll be using it much until college though. [hide=] Not sure why I have small shields in the corners of a few icons, and I already don't like the annoying thing that keeps asking if I did it or if it's something I don't know -.- Lol I think you guess what brand of laptop I bought.[/hide]

That's not true I guess... Some people must be saying it, you're just not hearing. ;)

What do you think will end the human race?
I think when WW3 does occur most of the world will be obliterated, and what remains will have no economy and very little resources left to work with. Actually, we're already in WW3, War on terrorism anyone? I think our technology will kill us.

Paranormal Experience
Same for me unfortunately (fortunately perhaps?). Although I don't really want to have some paranormal experiences. Weird that there wasn't ghosts like that in all the old houses I lived in while my father was in the military. Now we're in a 6 year old house and nothing paranormal has happened (exept if you call having a bat in the house paranormal :XD:).

Internet Explorer or Firefox
True, but I still use Firefox almost as much as Opera, since opera is a bit slower than FF3 for me. Lol just bought a new laptop, and first thing I do is download Firefox :XD:

Convert to a Mac?
HP can help you, but you have to push them hard, the costumer service is just not there with them, and you have to push and push to have some service. Most of the time they're going to send you to another department and w/e. I'd try their website next time though.

Logging In
I don't think it's the ads, since its not where the ad is usually, that, I can tell, but for the solution, I'm sorry, I don't have it.

Internet Explorer or Firefox
Hmm, with me it was Firefox 2 that did that. FF3 never crashed on me :-k And I only rarely used IE for Runescape, but I sence a difference, as minor as it can be, with the speed the game responds, meaning it is slower on IE than Firefox, but that's just a feeling. To get to the game, though, it's much faster with firefox, since pages load instantly instead of waiting a few seconds for each page to load on IE. attacx, no, Firefox is not safer, just has add-ons to increase the safety of what you do, plus it's less vulnerable since IE is the most used browser.

How much sleep do you get a night?
I usually sleep 6-8 hours, but sometimes I still feel exausted the day after :-k . Sometimes I only sleep 5 hours a night, but I get tired fast after waking up after sleeping for such a short time. When I get back to college, I'll be getting a regular 8-10 hours of sleep.

Few questions.
Thank you both of you again :). As for a google search, I already know of Tigerdirec and a few others, plus there are some in one of the stickies :).

Few questions.
Thank you blade for the answers :). But with Sata, to have a master and a slave, do I have to change something on the Hard drive like we did with the old IDE? As for konzserwas, Thank you for your answer, and my budget is unlimited like I said. I'm Canadian, so I can't get anything from newegg, but thank you for showing me. That corsair seems good (I remember seeing someone saying to calculate wattage and price), I have also heard Thermaltake is a good brand, so that's why I'd stick more with it but yeah, I don't know much about them PSUs lol.

Out your backdoor
Just to add, for those who may have asked, I live in the North of New Brunswick Canada. I love having a lot of rivers around, we can basicaly go anywhere in small boats much quicker than using the car (ocean proximity).

Few questions.
Sorry for the unclear title, but here goes: I'd like to firstly say, my budget is unlimited. [hide=First question]I would like to know if it's possible to take a hard drive from inside the case of the "external hard drive", since I have one and I'd like to put it inside the computer case to use it as a second hard drive. I just want to make sure since I know you can buy hard drives and cases to use them as external hard drive. If we can do that, I would like to know what RAID means, also as I'd like to use my current HD as master and that external hard drive as slave. (Would give 320Gb master HD and 750Gb slave HD if that info is needed.). Thank you in advance :).[/hide] [hide=Second question]I'd like to buy a new and stronger PSU for my computer, I currently have a 300W PSU, and computer is an upgraded HP pavilion m7580n, as I added 1 Gb of ram from the 2Gb there already was, and upgraded to an EVGA 7600GS video card which is not even fully powered. I would like to have a 650W PSU, but I don't know anything about PSUs, so that's where I need your help. All I know is that people say Thermaltake are good PSUs. Reason I want a new PSU is I want the card fully powered as well as allowing upgrade to a 9600GT later on, and as you notice, adding a second hard drive, and maybe a 4th Gb of RAM (Motherboard supports 4). Thank you guys ;).[/hide] Sorry for mistakes, I'm kind of really tired, hard day at work. I live in Canada, so no Newegg links for me :(

Laptop Upgrade Question
Wow alienwares are really expensive, seeing what processor and ram you have in it... I knew they were overpriced but not that much. On topic: I'd go with the ram, but you'd be better off going for over 2Gb if you can, at least 3 if you have Vista. At 2Gb, Vista still uses half the RAM and you don't have that much (~1Gb).
