How Fast Is Yours?
I think it's either what you do that doesn't need more, or you're getting throttled by your ISP. I only pay for 1.8MBps (15Mbps) and I've seen it go over 2MBps before.

Vegas cant open avi file?
I used to use the K-lite codec pack until someone here suggested CCCP, which I found to be much better than k-lite.

I hate to be a pedant, especially in a language that isn't my mother tongue, but 'mais j'ai oublié' needs a direct object pronoun to make sense, i.e. 'mais je les ai oublié' ('I have forgotten them'). At least, I think so. Any French speakers feel free to correct me! Actually it depends on the sense he wants to make with his sentence. In this case, he wrote it in the right way, but you had it right for other examples that have nothing to do with what he was saying here.

Do you work part time, or just a low paying job? I don't remember a car battery being so expensive that you use the rest of the week's pay to replace. Installed Subsonic server in Fedora as a college project, I feel like it was too easy a project. Casual @ $22 an hour with low shifts. Earned 330 this week, $150 went to dad/mum for rent and It'll prob cost about $100 for the car battery. At the moment I'm looking for a full-time day job in retail or IT but its both difficult, and majority of IT jobs are all bloody help desk, not physically fixing things which was why I got into the industry. (and 70% IT jobs here are in the mines/heavy business and require something like 10 years networking experience and stuff) Well good luck then! Pretty hard being on low shifts.

FireFox randomly freezing computer
Chrome does the same thing, except it's in more than one process, that's why most people only see Firefox doing it.

FireFox randomly freezing computer
When you to into your options (I don't know if you're setup with the orange tab or the menus), you then go into the advanced tab, and you should see a "browsing" section. There will be a checkbox with something along the lines of "use acceleration when available". Let us know if it still freezes the computer.

Have you tried disabling hardware acceleration in Firefox? Since version 4 it's been using hardware acceleration to show the pages faster. It could be what's causing issues for you.

You should look up some benchmarks between Firefox and Chrome, they have their strenghts and weaknesses, both of them, but overall the run pretty much at the same speed. I only think that Firefox is getting more and more broken, and they don't seem to work to try to fix it for the guys that have issues, that's why I moved over to Opera (I hate Chrome for a few reasons). I found that for me, Firefox 10 works the best, since prior versions would hang on youtube and other websites with flash players, but I decided not to upgrade until at least version 15. Firefox works flawlessly on Fedora though.

http://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gr%C3%A8ve_%C3%A9tudiante_qu%C3%A9b%C3%A9coise_de_2012 The french one is there all the details are at. The english version is like 50x shorter, it's not an abstract, there's just a major lack of information. If you can read french, then have fun. Of course I can read french, it's actually my mother tongue. That's why I have the Acadian flag as avatar. I'll read this when I have more time, I've been very busy with college lately.

I've been hearing about that since yesterday afternoon and couldn't believe it, until I saw pictures of it, which cannot be unseen... Am I the only person I've talked to not weirded out by the photo? I considered it cool to see, bad to be the guy who had it. Haven't seen a picture of it yet. On a related note, if some crazy person is eating me, and I'm not already dead, I'd like the police to shot at him a whole lot sooner than after 'several warnings'. I'm thinking more like one warning. Tops. Yeah and now I've seen news of another one on the same drug in maryland, got his heart and brain eaten by someone on the drug. I've only seen this one on facebook, but here's a news story about it www.youtube.com/watch?v=wKPyv5u2Org

Wow, now even the UN is talking against the bill 78. (source in french though http://www.lapresse.ca/le-soleil/actualites/politique/201205/31/01-4530464-que-lonu-se-mele-des-vraies-crises-replique-quebec.php) The province of Québec is putting themselves at shame, especially with that law, which 700+ people have already been arrested for.

I've been hearing about that since yesterday afternoon and couldn't believe it, until I saw pictures of it, which cannot be unseen... This sounds like rabies to me. Actually from what I gathered, it's a new drug called bathsalt. Apparently it's very easy to get too, so I'm wondering more than ever in what kind of world we live now... I also heard of a case, locally, where one person that was on the drug was stabbed repeatedly for 3 days by someone else on the drug until he fled by the window on the second story of a building, and he lost so much blood and had so many wounds because of the stabbing, I first didn't believe that anyone could survive what that guy survived. He was transfered from the local regional hospital to a better hospital.

How Fast Is Yours?
That thing is probably bogus (as many "tune up" utilities). I can't see it since I block the ads, so it's probably not advertised by speedtest.net.

Not a single student lost their semester/year, stop talking since you aren't informed. And it's normal that some students from Quebec that live close to N-B go study there, since many people prefere to go to university while still living with their parents, which comes much cheaper for food, housing, etc. In the end, the price is about the same if you consider everything. That's the reason why many of my friends decide to go study at the Ottawa University, since it's really close from where I live. Just repeating what I see in the news. Also, I fail to see how people close to N-B go to university in N-B to stay with their parents since the closest university (or the one I went to my friend's graduation) is 3 hours away from the Québec border. There is a college in a small city close to the border (20 mins) though and that's probably the guys you're talking about. If you want to explain more to me, you can do it in private, and you can write it in french if it works better for you, when in the PM.

Also, another thing I think is idiot about the students protesting, is the fact that they not only lost a term, but pretty much a year of study (and the money that gets spent with it). There's a reason so many Quebeckers come study in N-B, even if the tuition fees for university are minimum $ 7000, while it's $2500 in Québec.

Yeah, I'm in New-Brunswick and I'm paying more for community college than they are paying for University (which is much higher than college here). N-B is right beside the Qc. Thing is, they might be paying more taxes than a good part of Canada, but they have a hell of a lot more services and subventions than the rest of Canada. You don't see $7 a day daycare centers anywhere else in Canada, let alone the world. At least the computer science (actually networking and security now) here is unbeatable, only Ontario was able to beat my college's team in skills canada most of the competitions.

I have the same thoughts as you, and it seems that UKPA (your source) doesn't know that the protest isn't really against the tuition fees these days, but that law and stuff, and that not only students are protesting. I don't live in the Québec province so I can't talk for them, but then again, Anonymous isn't doing it right this time.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3
How do you do this? I don't know much about internet connections. If you don't know much about internet connections and about Linux (one of the command line Linux Operating Systems that I used for this one), then you probably won't be able to do it by yourself, sorry.

Google Chrome questions
Well Opera is like insanely archaic. Opera works a hell of a lot better than previous versions. Also better than Firefox now too.
