Well, today was my last day of exams, and I think it was the worst exam this year too, this morning. Oh well, still going to Montreal tomorrow with a friend.

Because Internets. I watched that video for only 2 minutes before I felt like desk-flipping and wondering "wtf am I even watching" You were watching people ragequit against one of the weakest characters ever, and reading their hatemail about said character with music from Yoshi's Island. Not a hard concept to understand. How were we to even know that person was the weakest? On top of that it's a badly made video in my opinion.

It's not for the processor speed that AMD puts us off usually, it's because AMD processors produce a hell of a lot more heat than an Intel processor of the same strenght. Also, you must've gotten a bad lenovo if you say that about them. Then again, they do have some lower end builds that are weak but the higher end builds are good. I don't have one, but while I've been looking at Laptops recently I've come across some, including some of those on the PC World shop floor - it's just an opinion I suppose. Also, about the heat issue. I'm currently using an Acer Aspire 5740 (I think), which is an Intel i3 M370 and I've had no end of problems with heat. It's only a year old and I'm selling the [bleep]er. haha. Anyway, when I had a Phenom x3 in my old pc, it ran smoothly all the time at about 50 degrees c... Again, heat might not be a major issue. Looks like you got unlucky with that acer. I guess every brand has lemons lol. Anyway, that Phenom x3, it was a desktop right? If it's right, my Intel i7 (quad core + hyperthreading which means 8 virtual cores) in my laptop runs cooler than that.

The online system is one of the worst systems I have ever had the displeasure of using. And speaking to them on the phone is a mission too. The "New Brunswick - Canada" student loan system is also very bad. Thankfully I filled it right when I went online, it comes to a point where it's so vague that I was fitting in 3 of 4 categories but only was allowed to chose one. Lol. the rest of the online application is even worse. Not sure about the rest of Canada though.

Usually gaming is done on wires since it's much more stable, but yeah, this seems to become a problem, plus with the new Wireless technologies that always come out (Such as Wireless ac, which will replace Wireless N in not too long), they always need new ways to transfer wirelessly. Anyway, explains a bit why it's so expensive for data plans on the cellphone. I usually connect to my own Wireless Lan when I want to transfer large files on my cell though.

On that linkin park discussion, what's the name of their upcoming album? haven't listened to one of their albums for a very long time and would be fun to look that new album up on youtube if there's samples or something.

^That and the blu ray player. It really depends on where you live as well, especially for online games. There's not a huge difference if you're in a big city, but when it comes to small cities and towns, Xbox Live is much better than PSN. A lot of my friends switched to Xbox from PS3 because they were lagging in almost all online games. We pay for Xbox Live, but we get much more quality out of it because we pay, and it's about $5 a month. All that to say, if you don't plan on playing online games with it, go for it, but if it's to play the same games that you have on your Xbox, keep your money for something more important.

That's a credit card then. At least in Canada, the easiest way to tell them apart (aside from the fact that they don't have visa, mastercard, american express, or the name of anyone else who does credit cards on them), is that debit cards lack the 3 numbers on the back, and they don't have expiry dates. Debit cards are the ones you use to withdraw money form your account(s) at an ATM. The problem with debit cards is that as soon as a purchase is made, the money is gone, and never coming back. If someone gets a hold of your card info, they can steal normally at least a couple thousand (most cards and online banking have limits like this) per day. Even with paypal, I think they can do it so you have an account number to move money into, so that they never have access to any of your actual accounts. You just move money into one they give you, and then you can use that to buy stuff online. To move money outside of the online banking, they would need you actual bank pin, which would allow them to move anything they want up to the cards limit. The bank I use has you make a different password for their site so that your computer never needs to know both your card number, and your cards pin. I think there might be some confusion about what people mean when they say debit card, and maybe there is some hybrid between what I know as debit, and credit cards that allow them to work online. Oh, and I almost forgot. Accidently sent my best flash drive through the washing machine, and realized it a couple days later (once it had plenty of drying time). I think it also went through the dryer. Thing works just fine. No data corruption/loss, and even the led light still works just right. Not planning on duplicating that stunt, but very happy that it still works. And its not one with a cap either. It's retractable and open ended, so soapy water was all up inside of it. There are some debit cards that have expiry dates on it, at least mine has, not just my credit cards. Also, flash drives as long as they're not powered, can go underwater. I remember with my Sandisk that lasted 3 years, went through a washing cycle at least 3 times.

Something could go wrong on any site, although I trust very few sites, even if there's more that are safe than what I like to trust.

Wow guys I won't dare use my debit card online. The debit card has no protection and has direct access to your bank account. The credit card on the other hand has protection, as well as protection plans, and is not linked to your account so if something goes wrong, you can usually get your money back.

The advice about not buying books until you actually need them is very good advice. I say this as I'm currently on my second course (Already did Computer Programming, currently doing Networking and Security), and there are some cases when I made the mistake of buying the books on the first day and ended up not using 1 of the books at all. Asking the teacher is a good idea too, I saved on not buying one of the Cisco books since we're using the Netacad stuff online. Also, don't spend too much time on gaming, it has a real impact on your performance in class.

Absolutely! I hate when they can't even tell me what web browser they are using... Just things like that irk me, but I almost prefer them because it can be a challenge to have no idea what is wrong except for "this won't do this to this when it used to do this" and I have to look. I'm on the same boat. Usually I'll just tell them that I'll come fix their computer, and when I see that there's 15 toolbars, it really shows that they don't know what they're doing with the computer. Oh God... Toolbars piss me off so much. Thankfully, I use Chrome. You do know that there are toolbars for chrome too? LOL

If I was to stay with your choices there, I'd go for the HP since it has much better specs (like a hell of a lot better specs). Thing is, HP tends to produce a lot of heat, while Lenovo usually makes sturdy builds, that will last a hell of a long time, plus there's the HMM that comes with it, the issue is that it won't be able to play mid to high end games. The Lenovo's processor is better than the HP's processor, but the HP's graphics card is much better than the Lenovo's graphics card.

Nice. I'm going to have to replace one of my credit cards myself (which I never put online btw). For a while the paypass (well that tap and pay thing) hasn't been working at all, and now the chip only works 1/4 of times. Also, I didn't have to pay when I went to the garage today. The noise that made my brand new brakes sound like worn out brakes was just the iron protector on the other side of the rotor that was against the rotor. I guess it must have bent towards the rotor when I was on the old set of brakes, which lasted 80 000 Km and 3 years, so they were very worn out.

No, your cpu doesn't suck, but yeah, with the file sizes, it's going to take time with that processor.

Looks like laws are pretty strict over there. Here they're not forced to ask for ID, they only state that if we look under 25 they can ask for ID if they want.
