  1. I've found out that it's only if you're behind the ISP's modem/router that you have to watch the connection, I've replaced my ISP's router with a server/firewall and can run my full 16/16 internet speed without issues, all of a sudden, whereas I had to limit my upload to 1Mb/s when I was on the ISP's material. Also, guns to use: - MP7 - ACR - PP90M1 These guns are the one you'll do best with in the beginning, you can then use other guns when you get better at MW3 Not going to talk about shotguns since I never really used them, but I seem to always kill them when I have the MP7 and I go face to face against a shotgun. Lol, hope you're not like me and end up having to turn 180 degrees when you spawn because of people spawning behind you. That happens to me 70% of the time so I'm one of the unlucky.
  2. I moved away from Firefox as well on Windows except I went with Opera since I don't like Chrome. If you find you don't really like chrome, know that there are other choices out there too! :)
  3. Oh, thanks! I previously installed the proprietary driver, but decided to remove it since I lost too many options such as the fn keys and that kind of stuff, I hate having the screen backlight at max, and I can't lower it with the proprietary drivers. Guess I'll either always run the graphics card at max or get the drivers and wait until a new version of the nouveau driver that would support what the card has and going back to it. Either way I'll probably choose the option when I don't have to have the screen at max brightness.
  4. Well it would seem that the laptop's GPU runs at 46 under Windows and 58 under Fedora (all in Celsius). I don't know what makes the difference, but there's also more cpu activity in Fedora, I thouht it would be the other way around but I guess not.
  5. Oh thanks, I'll try this out when I boot into Fedora on my laptop. You're better at googling than me :P
  6. Thanks, I have installed lm_sensors, but I still can't seem to get the temperatures, just the activity information such as CPU usage, even with some of the aps that use it to run.. It's the temperature of the GPU that I want.
  7. Hi guys, I've been using Fedora 16 as my main OS for about a week, but am seeing the laptop get much warmer than what it gets on Windows. I kept the dual boot but am thinking of completely removing Windows and running it in a virtual machine. What I would like to know is if there are good programs or utilities to show the temperatures of not just the CPU but from most of the sensors. It appears to me that the graphics card is the one producing a lot more heat than on Windows. Also I'm running under the Gnome gui.
  8. Maybe you should have a look at AV comparatives. I think the simple fact that Norton isn't listed at all doesn't meet their requirements. I think that's enough to say that it's not a good antivirus.
  9. I just checked a few review websites using Google, and there is plenty of evidence of it not being good You just need to check multiple websites. Then again I wouldn't trust an antivirus which had it's source code leaked from their servers last January.
  10. Thing is, Cnet is one biased website. Other reviews and questions on their own forum proves it.
  11. BAck on disc 1 for the last Mass effect, somehow Tali's back alive, she died earlier in the game for me, so I guess I'm starthing to see the parts of the game that are badly made.
  12. Sorry to interrupt here, but: This is what Apple wants you to think. They have a few viruses, and they're not as rare as people think nowadays, but while Apple is implementing some security features, they don't want people to know that their OSes are starting to get attacked more often by viruses.
  13. It's probably going to be as good as the PC version when the next generation of consoles come out. I think that the 360 can't handle all of it with its quite old hardware. Where do you see computers with 512MB RAM anymore? That's how much RAM the 360 has.
  14. If you are using Firefox, Video DownloadHelper will download an actual video file of the video you are watching on youtube, and the file will also be much smaller than if you use fraps.
  15. Apparently they're going to patch the sitrep canceling dead silence bug. Personally I think they just forgot about specialist package when they changed the code in the perks.

I know you're a student and all, but even if I don't agree with what Charest is doing, what you guys are doing has to stop. It's already enough that you pay less tuition that what I do in college which is already cheaper than university. You and your government lost a year and a hell of a lot more money than if the manifestations hadn't lasted this long. You students (even though I'm a student myself right now) are not the king of the world, and no one has to respond to you. They do respond because the agree with you (except the government), but this is really getting out of hand. In other words, stop whining. Harper is already doing worse to all of Canada and no one is whining. I'm not going to add any more to this subject even if I get quoted.
  17. Lol that's a huge difference. You have Bell and I have Bell Aliant which isn't really the same company. I pay about the same as you and there are no caps with Bell Aliant here, whatever the plan.
  18. Replaced my ISP's router with a server (WAN enters, LAN comes out a separate port). Not really a server since it's technically a computer but still. Now getting the full speed I pay for.
  19. Yeah, same with any of the local pizza shops here.
  20. Symantec are the ones that made Norton (or at least had their name on Norton Antivirus). Even if Norton is much lighter than it's older counterparts, it still is one of the worst antiviruses.

Unfortunately apparently it's already going to be dark when the shadowy part goes over the part I live in lol.
  22. There seems to be issues with some versions of Java. Can you try install 6 update 32?
  23. You accidentally a word? :P Nice.
  24. I agree, there isn't enough information on a screenshot, but I usually take these kind of emails as phishing attemps unless proven otherwise, which is what you did in your post.
  25. I wouldn't trust anything that has Symantec's name on it when it comes to antiviruses.
