Have you tried deleting the Jagex cache? It's located on C:\jagex.cache.32 (or something similar).

Still a little overpriced, but it's not a bad computer if you're not going to play games, otherwise, Intel graphics sucks.

We had this HP computer from 2000 and had windows ME until 2007 then XP was installed on it. It still works to this day, only the owner of the computer has changed. I have a 4 year old HP, but I upgraded it too much for the size of the case and it would always overheat, so I built myself a new computer while keeping some parts like the graphics card (9800GT) and hard drives. Currently using that HP as a server.

That comes to the player himself. Me I prefer having a higher DPI and so does many people.

Manual. I've never driven an automatic car and I won't be buying one for my next car. Manual cars take far less fuel over long distances of time. Also, to whoever said that you have to look at the stick to shift, that's not true. I looked at it for a day or 2 and after 6 years of driving, I have never needed to look at it again, the road get's my attention, never the stick. Plus manual cars are about ~$1,000 less than automatics here.

Surprised no one has said it yet: Delete the cache (easier to use a program like CCleaner as it will clean everything that is temporary in the browsers).

Get something Logitech. G5 is a good example.

I use visual studio for stuff like asp.net, vb.net sometimes C++, then notepad++ if I'm not doing much or simple xhtml/css/T-Sql/bit of MySql, Eclipse for Java, Aptana Studio for PHP, and I'm sure I'm missing some. I also occasionnally use vim, but I'm mostly on Windows so this one it's a little less.

Actually, no. Putting on sleep keeps the things in the RAM and makes the computer use just enough power to keep it in there (since if RAM has no power it will clear up). What I think is happening here is overheating. The more heat, after a certain temperature, the less performance there will be, and at a certain temperature (when it's too high), depending on the machine it could be 80 or 85 degrees Celsius, the computer will shut down to protect its components from having too much damages. Most of the time it's caused by dust, which can be cleaned with a can of compressed air or I don't think it would be too expensive if you were to bring it to a computer shop for them to do it for you.

Quality > Quantity. I never really cared about post count, although if someone posts a link and it's their first post, it's more likely I will not trust them. Plus I've learned who makes the most interesting posts , from being on those forums so long.

About using C++ on more than one platform, I think it really depends on what code you use for the library things. If you use code that works only on Windows for windows computers, then you're going to have a different library that is just for windows. Same goes with other platforms. If you want a C++ application to be portable to any platforms, you have to use code that is standard to all the platforms you plan on making it play on. And rs isn't that slow. My laptop isn't that strong and I don't have any lag while playing HD resizable with most settings on high. Plus when I click I don't have a delay at all, it really depends on what you have on your computer and also your internet connection. Ok Java is slower than C++, but with processing power in today's computers, it compensates and the Java program runs almost as fast as the C++ one despite being on a VM. And I'm sure that those Java programmers also learned how to code in C++ when they were studying, so they would know the concept of managing the memory themselves.

I wouldn't get a Dell, they tend to break pretty fast nowadays. I'm going to try to find something, but I need to know where you are from, are you from the United States?

That's because speeds here are in megabits and that your download speed is 2.5 megabytes max, there's a difference between Mb/s and MB/s.

I might reply to some posts that are a little old, but while we're at it: What lag? The client doesn't lag and I don't have a delay when I click. Also, I find Rs to be quite advanced on graphics, it's better than some C++ games I know.

What else do you recommend for under $600? :P I don't know any decent brand and computer that would go under $600 where I live, sorry, and I don't know about american or other currencies' prices for the computers.

^ Oops. As for drives, I also prefer WD, I've never had one of their hard drives fail on me.
