Yay for Jagex. No more f2p wars.
You whine far too much for this kind of decent update. From what I saw in pictures, the hills will be an interesting twist to wars and PKing. If you don't like it, don't PK or fight clan wars. If you still want to PK or fight clan wars, live with it.

Pure essence - P2P RCers ruined - your opinion??
I'm starting to grow sick and tired of this lamentation over the prices of 'pure' essence. If you don't like the prices, mine it your damn self. You WILL make a profit on it if you craft natures, even though it's not as large as it was before it's STILL a profit. If you're afraid your alchemisation days are over, let me let you in on a little secret: alchemy prices don't flux. They'll stay constant, so you would get the same from your Yew/Magic longbow as you did yesterday. You're all going to have to deal with this update. If you don't like it, then figure out a new way to make money and stop whining.

BRILLIANT SOLUTION for the ESSENCE-situation
How foolish. They did this update for a reason, to stop macros from generating more of a product. If you can't buy essence in bulk anymore, perhaps you should dust off your pickaxe and mine a few down in Yanille like other sensible people.

20 April 2006 - Rune Essence adjustment
All across the world (i.e. communities) I've seen nothing but complaints and whining. What are you all whining about? That essence prices will jump to 100gp each? That buying in bulk from Freeplay is no longer possible? ... Are those things really worth whining about? Let me tell you something. Even if essence prices DID jump to 100gp each, then you'd still make a 200gp profit per nature. That's three essences per nature. Don't feed me anything that says that's not too bad. Sure, it's not as strong/good as the last system (10 essences per nature), but this is a decent change. If you're unable to make money off of Runecrafting, perhaps it's time to choose a new skill. One-trick ponies that have been seen all over the world eventually get old and boring. This is why there's so many skills in the game; in my opinion, if one skill made a mass majority of the money the other 20 would be worthless. Time heals all wounds. Dry your eyes and you'll eventually get over it. Jagex is also working to fix their little bug, so don't gripe about that either. Take five, scream into a pillow, and dust off your Atari and have some fun if it bothers you that much.

jagex's new game
What everyone here is elaborating about is what Craven Image witnessed at his college campus one day when Jagex paid a visit. Oh, and this happened in February. That's why this is somewhat a healthy session of Q&A.

Tip.It Times Presents: Biased Banning Raises Brows
What is going on with Jagex?! Have they lost their minds or something? I'm not one to really complain about the way the law is handed down, but this is just plain ridiculous. WHY would you ban someone for helping their DAUGHTER? How silly is that? What would make them think that it's the same person? (Well, it IS technically the same person if you looked at it through their gene pool...) Jagex seriously needs to stop tightening the chain. They seriously need to lighten up. For those that think names are offensive in ONE language, then look it up in ANOTHER. I mean, I know the name "Makoto" means "sincerity" in Japanese, but in another language it could mean something completely different.

How To Get The Fremennik Sword In The Quest
You COULD waste resources trying to kill the Deathless. Yeah, go for it. OR. You could kill Market Guards instead.

Raise the GP Cap on P2P to 100 Bil
I've read through most of these replies on here, and some are worth considering and noting. Firstly, the economy will continue to demand a rise on certain rares, due to the fact that money keeps pouring in via skills such as Fletching. That money doesn't [seem to] stop. The raw material will keep coming in as long as there is someone willing to process/alchemize it. Now, we address the problem of high alchemy itself. In retrospect, it's not really a problem at all. It was created to help players generate a small portion of cash. Fletching is the most common and easiest way to do this. For example, we'll use my character in this scenario. If I were to raise my fletching from 75 to 80, it would take about 5.2K Yew logs and string. Together that runs a cost of 2.4M with a bit of change. If I were to make my own Natures and alchemize that, I would gain around 3.4M. Keeping in mind that I'm rounding, I'd profit about 750k-800k. In the scenario that I were to raise my smithing (God forbid!) from 63 to 75, that would take over 4.3K steel plates to do that, or 21.8K bars if you prefer. Since bars of steel cost ~600 each in this current market, paying 3k to make 1 plate and gaining only 1200 would be foolhardy. What high alchemization does is generate a profit for the people that take the time to process the raw material. That's pretty much it. Now there's a 'crisis', too much raw material has been processed and is causing upheaval from those that are approaching the gold cap. Perhaps it would be wise to cut down on this automotonus process of goods? Perhaps it's Jagex's fault? Not sure. But, a suggestion that was noted earlier would be certed cash. In a sense, that is one of the best ways to solve this situation. Have 1 note cash serve for 1K gold and the solution is at hand. Cutting down on the amount of cash recieved from alchemization would be foolhardy. Instead, increase the way one can store it.

AUTOSKULL BUG FIXED! - Tested and true.
I'm shocked at this bug myself. Didn't realise that so many players would try to take advantage of one another for a few items in the wild. FLOOD THE INBOXES, PEOPLE.

Petition to get the old abby whip special back...
What an idiotic idea. There's no true logic behind getting the 'old' special back, where it simply hit max or nothing. If you want to hit better, prayer and potions are your best friend. Well heck. If I lose this battle then why not bring back the MSB 4 Special attacks? Or give Ancient Magics a teleblock power? ^ My point is it just won't happen. Use logic before you try to change something.

Land Sales Would Save the Runescape Economy
The doggone economy is not broken. Why do people always complain that it is... If you don't like the prices of rares and stuff, don't buy them; it won't kill you to have it. Owning land is a decent idea but it wouldn't do much more than spiral the "economy" into a downslide and cause more people to complain.

When Attacked, Do Magic Users Forget Their Spells? No ... So
In terms of FORGETTING a spell: You won't lose the base level, so in truth the spell isn't really forgotten. In terms of LOSING a spell's power: This is fine by me. I don't really care if they try to lower my magic; the triangle's been out of whack like that for a while now. (I mean, you can lower Melee stats, but not Magic? Doesn't that raise a flag?)

Tip.It Times: Dagganoth kings and more!
All I have to say in the defense of the Ranger/Warrior... HA! Now you can't freeze me. Well in truth was it really fair to introduce a special that can hit up to 30 twice in a row, at 8 different intervals? Was it fair to introduce spells that could hit up to 30 whilst binding for extended periods of time?

the economy and pohs
"Oh, the economy is dying." "New things are killing the economy." "Houses will kill the economy." Cry me a bloody river, build me a bridge and get the hell over it. Please.

*test* first pixil eva :D
I'll give you this: Good work on your first pixel signature, drawing an RS character. It's not half bad, just needs a bit more blending and a few less coarse black lines, and you'd do alright.

Tip.It Times: Jagex interfering?
I've got to weigh in on the situation. Please note these are my personal opinions and don't even come close to reflecting my home fansites' opinion. ---------------------------- At first, when I heard that Tip.It had recived an "offical" request on not to launch a guide, I was skeptical, but respected that they wanted to be obediant to Jagex (for whatever reason is beyond me). I do work for another fansite, and we did publish virtually immediately. The sad thing is, none of the staff (at where I'm working) heard ANYTHING from Jagex. This really upset me, but my feeling was to "Damn the torpedoes! Full speed ahead!" We steamed ahead, and to find out later it really wasn't an "offical" request. I'm saddened at the lack of communication with Runescape and their fansites; it used to be so strong that J-Mods (as they are now called) could come to the forums, chat, chill and just be cool. Now, where's that Renaissance gone? I believe it's been buried under 150K players. I'm suprised that such massive sites such as Tip.it and Runevillage actually *heeded* this request...it's not even up to Jagex to decide what goes where on those sites. Sure, they created the content, but the breakdown in communication really screwed that one up IMO. It really makes me upset that Jagex hasn't had a plan to resolve this breakdown in communication. I mean, they've PROMISED fansites a place to advertise, but..."Money (action) talks, bull walks." Looks like this one's hitch-hiking. As a fansite it's only the Administrators' obligation to put out content. And yes, being the first to do it is VERY important, you do have bills to pay. ~Makoto

AOL and Runescape
Okay, I see AOL and Runescape in the topic and it sounds like you just messed your computer up for life (AOL). Here's what you do... You download the RS client from the main site, then you can run it like normal. If you can't get anything other than AOL, your RS days *may* be over.

Verac is the Best Set for Player Killing
Sheesh, you didn't know that praying was a part of combat? What if someone called you a food noob every time you ate food to heal...? Btw, yes, Verac owns both scenes of the Kalphite Queen and PKing.

~*java lag*~
Well, the problem might lie with your RAM, internet connection, and the HDD defrag files. There's some easy steps to this: 1. Find out how much RAM you have. If you have >256MB it's time to buy new sticks. If your processor runs >1.2GHz then it's time to buy a new computer. Defragment your computer, even if your specs aren't great! 2. If your computer runs just fine, then you are running too many applications. You may have IM, WMP, Winamp, and a few Word applications all running at the same time. Close them all and dedicate what processor power you have into Java. 3. If you're using Sun Java, that's not exactly the best thing. Sun Java has proven to be extensively laggy for me, so I use the RuneScape client (OFFICAL), which can be downloaded at the RS main site. Hope this helps.

First, Second Bryce Renders...
First impression: Impressive detail on 3D. Second glance: Not much detail, or purpose for it. Now, if you were creating a wallpaper, you could add more coloured flare effects. In my personal opinion, it's just...too flat.

Fun with error codes! - system error causes restart
Has UT2K4 been working fine or no? In all reality if it has then your Graphics card was programmed right. If it started to act up now it's gone on the fritz. If your gfx card is onboard...you WILL have to reinstall drivers for it. If it is secondary same rule applies. Looks like something got changed in BIOS, that's about all.

PhpBB
There's a simple way to go about this. *Pulls up phpBB bookmark* I can't exactly find it offhand, but, if you have your forum skin downloaded, browse through it in Windows Explorer (point and click on folder, and there you are). Find the image that looks similar to the previewed logo. Back up the image, and edit to your heart's content.

A really long time ago (prior to RS2 beta, pre2002, etc...)
Always good to see an alumni still playing. Too bad I don't remember those glory days, back when RS was good. However, I do recall the player selection screen, and about a week before I signed up, they took half of that stuff out.

Castle Wars Guide
One more thing you forgot to mention. Someone can kill their enemy with their respective banner and heal rapidly at bandage table or hide out away from the castles. This can lead to a certain team victory, as it is difficult to kill those closer to healing stations. Also, the catapult's maximum damage is believed to be around 15. Something to keep in mind.
