  1. Hm, now that my clan has reached T2 I can truly say that this update this more than i expected. The citadels look great and to be honest i don't understand what people are getting so upset about? The times of meeting in random places is finally over, we can even sit down. Sure the citadels may require some work to be maintained, and even more work to be upgraded to the next tier, but I'm fairly sure it is worth it. With T2 the citadel keep got a second floor (with meeting rooms) and a roof. The private meeting rooms are really nice, come in two sizes, also have voting boxes, and also after the first tick the remodelled and now night-time citadel looks even better. Like the ambient sounds too. If the tiers get progressively better at this rate, im not sure what to expect at T7. I heard about a dragon though. Furthermore this is a godsend for roleplayers, since the whole land-claim conflict bussiness was getting out of hand, - now every clan can have their private land.
  2. Armadyl has left the realm ages ago (litteraly!) due to the sorrow the extinction of aviansies caused him (probably a myth, there should be finer reasons than that)
  3. the spec has its uses, even in pvp. Since the vine whip draws power from you if you use the special attack and are wearing full veracs it will actually negate the 20% strengh rule, making it the most possible dps in game. Tried in duel arena with movement off, - just sillly how strong it gets. EDIT: there's a few threads about it on rsof, appereantly it works wonders on wyrewatches when switching to the flail of ivandis too.
  4. Uhh, that's called defence. All attacks are affected by defence, expect for Korasi's. This special seems like it could be useful against low defence monsters. By the sounds of it, it won't be too useful in PvP because it stops if your opponent is out of range. Hmmm - if you're in a multi-target zone, is the special multi-target too? No... why on earth would it do that? Seriously have no idea how you somehow even thought it might do that and what you're basing that on. People really need to learn to read the knowledge base when updates come out (or at all) the number of stupid questions I saw while in game was crazy. I managed to read up on everything and was still the first one on my server to the new area and got in a number of kills before anyone else showed up whilst still knowing what I needed to know about the area. Hah, reading/information gathering plebeans. A true slayer will find out everything he needs from his environment, in a moment's notice.
  5. haha, nice try to stop me nolifing, jagex, but i can wait this out, ill just make somthing to drink at the time.
  6. One word sums up this blog/trailer pretty nicely: EPIC. I especially liked the format of the new trailer, they should do more of it. What I didn't like, was that the citadels maintenance involves a minimum ammount of people needed to vsiit it weekly.
  7. @Autist: to amke the answer short: DIY. @mach_one thanks! Just the kind of advice i needed.
  8. So I got into a situation where I am going to need quite a large ammount of iron, like 8-10K, and was wondering what as the best spot to mine iron, considering i will be banking it? I'm p2p btw.
  9. The military axe is totally untested. Tried chopping a fruit tree, the animation shows that a crude bronze axe is being used... Brought it to miscellenia, doesnt even allow to chop the maples there BONUS: in miscellenia it glitches so i cant even chop the maples EVEN if I have a rune hatchet in my inventory If I have the military axe equipped.
  10. you are forgetting the mages who dont have 77 rc, i cant describe how much will 100 extra bloodrunes will help me.
  11. Will unmaintained citadels degrade and lose the tiers of advancement you mentioned, or are those upgrades permanent?
  12. @Hamtaro Again, loyalty can be measured from a set point in time, how else do you propose of measuring it? I do know about the "summer crash" (even though i don't use the exact term), however it doesn't really matter." Oh no, i can only play during the summer so ill keep my subscribtion for only those three months (but still expect to be held as loyal as those who have been paying all the time)". Do you think they should be able to get loyalty rewards with such "loyalty"? Of course now we go into the case of defining what exactly is "loyalty", and clearly JaGEx is stating that it's your membership that counts, they imply that the more we pay them consecutively, the more loyal we are. Not that i exactly agree with this, but it does have reasoning. And then you jump to bots... Listen, it's evident that bots are the plague of this game, however JaGEx has lost their will to combat them. Most of modern bots are so blatant catching them would require a simple testing program. They care for the money in this case, and this is not good, not something that should be allowed to happen. Yet, again, it's their game, their choice, ill keep on playing because bots dont really affect me that much (learned to cope). I do agree that they should start doing the unfinished questlines, fix content etc. etc. (there's plenty of good things they can do), however most of the things you mentioned are allready being made. ----------- You also state that the rewards are next to useless? Allright, lets put auras, and their useful effects aside for now. Titles, costumes and emotes are not useless. How come? Well many people like to look unique, have many diffirent emotes to show off. cosmetic rewards are very good to enlighten the gameplay. Also, have you heard of a thing that's called catering to various classes? The clans sure got an overhaul this year, many new weapons come out each year, and yet when an update comes out that suits the roleplaying comunity in so many ways...Ranting begins. (There was supposed to be another paragraph here, but I forgot what I was going to say.) @jrhairychest Weird, your quotes aren't quoting me, but have my name on it...
  13. Allright, in a few days time ill make an article discrediting everything that was said. Your argument about the previous membership is valid, but only partially, JaGEx chose to measure loyalty from a set point in time, which is the release of the loyalty rewards system, unfair? not really, they did provide arguments to why it was done so later, - they had some technical difficulties (i remember coming across a thread about it in RSOF, didn't read much into it, but ill search for it), and the main reason was that the ammount of people which would have very unproportionally more points is much lower than those who would have FAR less than them, which would lead to similiar ranting as yours, but reversed, and larger in several orders of magnitude. And of course lets not forget JaGEx is a company, which needs to make money, so they want to release the program with everyone starting equal so the rewards would take longer to get, thus encouraging more people to (hopefully) remain subscribed longer Somehow you seem to disregard the fact that they are actually making RuneScape, the game we play, if they're getting more money, we should be happy, not anything else. Also, you don't have to remain subscibed to get the rewards, you can subscribe one month at a time, and still get points, albeit alot lower then you would get when many months in advance, (hence the term "loyalty"). Getting the top armour in game would take months upon months for an average player, if not years. I see no diffirence between this and waiting those months (even if you subsribe one month at a time, only when you play). Actually it's even better, it's free stuff you get for doing nothing.
  14. Allright, I do have to say the first article shocked me. I always valued tip.it times as an informative source of runescape news and overviews, but to encounter something so blatantly incompetent in there... Crocefisso who wrote the article clearly tried to represent only one side of the argument, he obviously was enraged, and he did well on hiding the rage though his brutal vulgarity showed up in some places like: He also implied that such an update would never exite anyone beforehand, yet he obviously has no idea how many people (including me) eagerly waited for it, and were very happy with it. After I read his statement that the rewards are useless I was confused, who exactly was his man, Crocefisso ? A troll? because if he is one, then good for him, he suceeded in making me rage. If not, then why write such blatant lies? yes, lies, most of that article was lies. Of course he has the right to have his own opinion (and I respect it), but to ignore any research that has been made on the aura effectiveness, (and mind you, we have the lowest of the lowest tier auras available now) is inexcusable. I could dissect the article further and point out where the lies cross the typical RSOF ranter arguments (which, mind you, have all been negated by reasoning and research), but I see no need.
  15. Was fishing in catherby when those things fell, like three steps away from me. If i wasn't lucky enough it might have fallen on me...Looks exiting too.
  16. It's the year of the clans though, remember? I find it quite awsome that clans are actually getting not only recognition, but bases, WHICH FLY. Looking at the ammount of stuff shown, those flying citadels sure won't be small.
  17. I have a question: does this clan do just rushed dungeons, or are there any non-rush groups?
  18. hate to break it to you, but Zybez is advocating boting, many forms of scamming and gold buying, only immoral people would feel good listening to their radio. Do it OP, I'm very curious how this would turn out.
  19. Something is strange, I started testing my reverance aura, and I was surprised: it was working quite well, even if the timer made it somewhat useless. Then I ran out of prayer points, Of course I would, I was using like five curses at a time. I heard the prayer go out, the annoying tick sound, then I went on with my bussiness. Ten minuts later or so I noticed that I now have 1 prayer point left. It shocked me, - such an effect was not descibed by anyone. I sued it up and went on, thinking I was mistaken, nothing happened, but in around twenty minutes I looked at it, and it was 1 again. GOD WHAT IS HAPPENING.
  20. Still, you can be a villain if you want to, this is what the thread is all about. \ However, I agree that there should be ingame consequences to your actions, much like when you steal from a stall you cannot trade with his owner for some time, just in a much larger scale. Truth to be told when I started venturing in cities first when I was a newbie I was afraid to pickpocket a guard not to mention kill it for I thoughtall of them would pile on me in a manner of "stop right there, you criminal scum". was disappointed when I saw guards slain en masse in the castle courtyard.
  21. I suppose this is something you'd have better seen for yourself. Because it did work. It helped immerse me into the game world. Very rarely did I see anyone who chose to become a lawless murderer atone and try to become divine to access its content until months had passed and they had a change of heart. They were immersed. You aren't Timmy anymore, you become your character. It requires a completely different mindset. It's a pity, but in Runescape no one plays this game to be their character. It's a MMO with RPG elements. It's why I said earlier it's just a dream. Grrar, forum crashed an my reply was deleted, I'll try to recreate it. Honestly, I just can't see this pre-established community embracing full on rping. I personally do try to play as my character rather than myself, but it's small scale. And look at the major goal of the community right now: 200mil all skills. This is a focus not on storytelling, character, or rping but rather on making full use of efficiency, bringing mechanics to its knees, and in short a focus on metagaming. And this focus is not just in runescape, think about how mage builds in WoW are focused not on classes of magic for the character (Is he an ice or fire mage in relation to his personality) but rather for efficiency purposes (Which deals more dps). I'm not saying that shouldn't happen, it sounds like a very interesting game, but it's not what our community focuses on and it's not what I'm here for; I don't want to play in this world where I need an earnest change of heart to access all the content that I want. An established community not taking on full Roleplaying? I trust you never visited world 42 falador inn in the evenings, have you? I had the same mindset, mind you, but there's one thing most people don't know: there's plenty of roleplaying clans and groups, theres ALOT of them. Try walking into falador's castle with dagon'hai on when the white knight patrolls are there? get arrested or even worse, teleblocked, bound and slain. If you're lucky they will interrogate and torture you to death. Necromancers, rogues, heroes or simple farmers, many gather in diffirent places of w42. There's no alignment? Tell that to a man named "Russia" who has taken control of most of Ardougne, mercilessly slays all who oppose him and is half-immortal (or so the rumours say). Do alot of deeds that other player would remember, and you will get an alignment soon. Of course good alignment is way harder to build then evil, cause you know, people tend to remember how you poisoned them not how you saved them more.
  22. It seems JaGeX sees no need to combat bots, for it is obvious that if the bots go offline each update, you could easily write program that would monitor (note, not instantly ban, but find further evidence) on people who have been playing 10-15 hours+ daily but ALWAYS stop for some time when updates occur. You know, that kinda is the biggest flaw in the bot mechanics, why not use it against them?
  23. Remember when herbs were called unids and you could sell then 1K each at falador because people buyed them, and since they went into diffirent piles at bank i would sell unindentified guams 1K each. All. the. Time.
