Someone before mentioned that the Blizzard anti-bot system just catches the obvious 24/7 bots, but I think you underestimate the situation here. Three weeks ago I saw some people woodcutting and dropping logs, at seers village. The same people are there today, moving in unchanging patterns for hours straight, precision that, impossible to a human being. Now there's no such thing as a "suicide bot" for one can bot for months straight, gain levels, items, whatever you want and continue on, like its legit. Even after being reported by 20 something people. What to do you say? make a system that recognises pattern walking, hire a few anti-bot technicians to do some manual bans. EVen then I wouldn't expect much, 40% bot fall at most. After all nothing we can about JaGeX being liars and noobs.

Jagex benefits from the bots, so they will stay. If they wanted to take the bots out it would take a ridiculously low amount of funds to hire minimum manpower to hop worlds in botting places and ban them, it's also ridiculously easy to spot bots, moving in set patters, reacting instantly for hours straight.

No, you're wrong. First of all if you bough your account back they would never get your 82 mining back, it would be left 97, for jagex keeps no records of what bots were used for bannings and what levels you had prior to using them.So basically you're left with your cheated levels. Secondly, nobody that used a bot deserves an unban. Why? because it's the worst thing to do. I used a bot 5 years ago to level my combat skills, after a month and a half or so I was banned. I played since the second year of RSC or something like that so I was drastically upset, I appealed too, but after getting my appeals denied I realised the turth. There is one way to redeem your faults: so I made an account, and I did more quests then previously, trained my skills higher then previously, - that's how I repayed my debt. And you think you can simply wait one and a half year and pay some money to gain the mining level some people work day and night, skipping school, work, sleep and vacations to get (none is exaggerated, know some people who do all 4 things). You were banned 1.5year ago? That's enought time to muster up some serious skills. Those who should be unbanned are those who have been banned by mistake or without any concrete evidence, not botters that have bene caught redhanded.

The wyrms have quite a nice drop table, even thought i am a bit sad i have killed over 100 of them and no fury shark so far, they yield good proffits too, not to menton at last 1/5 trips is enrichened by someone getting k0'd by the wyrm (and me collecting the loot of course).

Mage bonus doesn't matter on stuff that needs to be maged. I really think your opinion is interesting, but the facts speak otherwise: The doomcore staff is the strongest mage staff. Also it has quite a low magic level requirement (I noticed many of you judge items as if everyone were maxed in combat levels). @green: Yes I'm a mage, I know better who I am, I have been maging inside Deamonheim since the first floors were uncovered. @lalala: An understandable point of view, for those who don't pure mage, in my case: "stuff that needs to be maged" = everything. Also what magic boost bonus does the catalyctic staff gives? I doubt it's higher, well if it is its t11 so only accessible at maxed magic anyways.

So, I read all the thread and there are quite alot of valid points out here, about not making armour when rushing and whatnot. But its all from melee/range perspective. What about mages? A mage is alot diffirent, because his attack bonus, the accuracy of his spells are determined by the armour he wears. And if he's using a doomcore staff, the magic attack bonus is even negative (albeit getting a 25% damage bonus), do you expect him not to make armour? And to the people who say that they keep going low on health in the first rooms, - you probably dont have t9+ medic, or you hoard the food from the team medic, I mean seriously, Our team has ABSOLUTELY no worries with lp going low, if the medic is arround, getting healed 450+ during the boss fights ftw?

Those days are so they can investigate the account further. Its not like jagex see a bot report, place a 14 day ban on the account and then go along to the next account. Oh my, it seems your knowledge on what jagex does with bots is pretty limited. They do place a 14 day ban and move on to enxt account if they see the evidence sufficient, also they review such a little part of the macroing reports that is doesnt make any diffirence, because they arent able to review em all, and auto -abbning them all would cause many non-bots to get banned. The thing is, now they dont really care. Believe me, ive waited for more then a year and reported a dude i know irl for autoing, in the meanwhile he got his str magic attack and a few other levels to 99, all while doing nothing. You seem to undrestimate the ammount of bots and their quality nowadays, they can reply run away if someone speaks to them they can say "g2g" and switch worls the second you approach them. And yet theres plenty of obviuous bots, Brimhaven gem miners for example, how hard is it tell if a personson is botting if his character moves in the same, flawless, perfectly timed patters for hours. Must be pretty hard, because they dont get banned.

^^ so much oftopic above Okay guys, so what has happened with that update was outrageous, yes they didnt think, it would have taken a few days more to create a way to get rid of the problem: GENIUS IDEA: make two typesof climbing boots, two diffrent items, one are those who were bought before the update. they become untradeable and their alch value remains the same low as before. Then, release the new, expensive climbing boots. Of course there would be thousands of butthurt people saying: "i wanted to have cheap boots, noo fair!", tough luck, but there would be no damage to the economy. But the problem with the money coming into the economy is not so bad, compared to the real problem: UPDATE LEAKING I mean, wth? the forums and ingame i have heard people talking about it, seen screenshots. I dont know if its true, but if it is: Why would a few chosen players benefit just because they had friends j-mods who leaked it? Im shocked investigation wasnt carried out. What will stop them from benefiting their "fave-players" with leaked update news again? How many times has this happened already? Have the J-mods announced their beloved few that there will be a prayer update a few months before? the problem is what is right and what is wrong. yeah that'd be good if they didnt clog up our training space and if reporting worked. Theres a guy who got 99 str and magic in a few weeks by botting, we saw him leave the bot on when he carried his laptop to school cafiteria, reported him, numerous times, talked to a few pmods about it, it cant be helped. (he's still not banned, over 1 year of botting now, saw him online two days ago) you see, too many poeple are botting if jagex banned them all they'd lose too much profit, thats the only explanation i can see, because i don't believe they cant recognise a person as a bot when he does the same moves without a single mistake 3 hours stright and takes 1 sec to bank.
