  1. The sad thing is that we here in Alaska are still seeing the effects of the Exxon Valdez spill even some 20 years later. These types of things do not go away after a few years, their impact is long term and can be quite devastating to the area.
  2. Yes there is a limit, see this topic.
  3. 100+12.6+9.6=122.2=122 Is that a possibility?
  4. Looks like they're being merched. Wait a week or so and they should be back down to normal. ;)
  5. I have the GMA 950 in my Macbook and it is a very powerful chip for only 64MB of VRAM.
  6. That is the point. Take smithing, for example. The skill had been stuck for higher-level additions because it was made to have rune at the highest level, 99. Extending the level cap would allow for higher-level activities for that, and other skills.
  7. I may end up doing that, I'll get that all sorted out when I can spend a hour or so working on calculations in my spreadsheet. I've always found regular trees too expensive and slow considering I'd only be doing one, maybe two runs per day.
  8. So I've gone from 20m to 100M over the past 6 months without even trying, 40M from an accidental "investment" and 40M from MTK. The only skill I train is Farming, I have no intentions to ever do anything else, it's all too boring. So, I know basically what I want to do, but I'd like some help from those who know the markets better than me. I'll be buying either Papaya or Palm seeds, Calquat seeds, and some sort of herb. Don't need suggestions there. Questions: 1. Should I buy all the seeds I can afford (or with ~15M of) now, or buy them gradually? 2. I would like a herb seed suggestion. I'm really only going for XP, so Torstols don't look to bad now... will they remain decent in the long term? Or should I go with something cheap like Toadflax? Or buy in 100s and change as the prices do? Thanks. ;)
  9. Self built rig: Windows XP SP3 150GB Seagate Hard drive NVIDIA GeForce 9500 GT (1GB) Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 Wolfdale 3.0GHz Thermaltake V9 Black Edition ATX Computer Gaming Chassis 2GB RAM Saitek AV8R Joystick 1st Gen Macbook (late 2006): Mac OSX 10.5.8 Intel Core Duo 2GHz 64 GB Hard drive 2 GB RAM Intel GMA 950 64 MB VRAM Wacom Intous 2 Tablet I use the Mac for just about everything, except my flight sim and any games. I play RS on both, and I'm starting to switch over to the Windows for browsing the internet because it's so much faster.

This weekend is the last of the season here, I'll be going up and getting a bit of skiing in tomorrow. Let this shot be an incentive for everyone here to get out and ski/snowboard next year: [spoiler=Picture]
  11. Yes. ;)

I've been a lifelong Mac user until I built my own machine about a year ago (Windows XP). I've heard some about this defrag thing and understand the basics, but I'd like to know a little more. How long could it take? Any precautions? Use the built-in program or download one? Or any other thoughts or informations you'd like the share. Thanks for helping me figure out this whole Windows thing. :) EDIT: System info- Windows XP SP3, Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 3.0GHz, Seagate 150GB HD, NVIDIA GeForce 9500 GT 1GB, 2GB RAM
  13. I've had issues with a Linksys router too. After switching to a D-Link about a year ago, I rarely disconnect.
  14. I think it would be nice to have a "nickname" option in the friends list, where you could add a name of your choosing next to each persons usual username.
  15. Out of curiosity, why clean herbs? I've never cleaned mine, is that something I should be doing?
  16. On the topic of torstols and farming, I happened to buy some 350 torstol seeds back in November when they were ~25k, thinking I'd continue farming in the near future. I then promptly began a 4 month break, come back, and see that my seeds are now over 100k each. Simply: I bought the seeds for 9m, am now going to sell the herbs for 50m. Yay. We'll have to keep an eye on the prices, indeed torstols are very good right now.
  17. Or if you want to spend a bit, you could get Photoshop Elements for $80. I use it, it works great.
  18. Just logged in to do my first fruit tree run in like 3 months lol. Took me 10 mins, but I got 100K xp and passed the 14M xp mark.
  19. Same setup here. Will probably try to train thieving to get all 70+.
  20. My flight sim requires a lot of folder-digging. :P Thanks for the explorer tip, never thought to use that. I'll tinker with it and hopefully get used to it.
  21. I know it's your opinion but I still say that it's all based off of just how used to an OS you are. Even though I use OS X a lot in school I'm still really iffy about the OS in general and I just don't like a lot of it. I find windows 7 to be a lot more user friendly (especially if you're used to windows based operating systems). I just have to ask though, what is it about OS X that you guy's all find really user friendly? Windows 7 has a "dock" just like OS X after all and in all honesty I find the mac's way of exploring folders to be god awful compared to windows explorer. I'm just wondering why people find it so user friendly. Does it have something to do with the perceived notion of it not messing up or breaking or something? I don't know the differences between XP (what I run) and vista/7 very well, but I hate hate hate XPs way of "exploring folders". Seems like I'm taking twice as long to do something as I would on my Mac. I mean, what's the deal with having to click start>my computer>C drive>program files to get to an applications files? I'll stick with finder>applications, thanks. I guess it's the little things that do it for me. I've used Macs since I started using computers, and I'm still discovering new things. One my friend showed me the other day was how you can click on a file and hit the spacebar to view it, without ever opening it's application. Way cool.
  22. Simply put, if you can pay for it, get a Mac. I'm probably one of the few here who own and actively use both a Mac and a Windows computer. I like my Windows machine because it's faster, cost less, and can run a larger variety of programs. But that's about it. I only use it for my flight sim. As someone else suggested, it would be very worthwhile to take a trip to an Apple store and actually use the OS before you buy. Remember to take a look at the iMovie application as well.
  23. Guess I better go plant some high-xp trees in my patches.
  24. Of course Safari on my Mac, I used to use Safari on my Windows too but just recently switched to Chrome after finding how much faster it was without being hard to use. It's a shocking difference.
  25. How is it extra effort to not collect? :wall: Because you have to continually travel there to top up the coffers AND approval. Which means at the very least you're using like 5 - 10 mins a week to do so, but not gaining anything from it at that point in time. Plus you have to find like 525k every week to put in. Where as collecting each week you can easily sell and get like 1mil or so and have right there the 525k to re-invest But that's no problem if you have a few million GP in your bank, which I'm sure many has. And it seems more of a hasle to sell you stuff at GE every week. Exactly. If you have the money, waiting to collect is by far the fastest way to do MTK.
