  1. that's what getting a 99 should be about. to hell with the cape. get a 99 in a skill you love, no matter the cost. you'll feel much better about yourself. that statement got you a +1 final score: 10/10 Thanks! Thanks Guard. :P Thank you! I sometimes feel that way too, those days go by just doing nothing and doing a herb run when I can, then logging off again. I would recommend setting a goal or something, do other stuff you enjoy. There really is a lot more to do besides farming, I'm sure you can find something! Having something to do other than herb runs makes rs a lot more fun. Still, awesome that you actually got 99 because you enjoyed the skill, that's how it should be done. 9/10 That's just it, I can't find any other skill I enjoy, as there are really no other skills that work like Farming does. Thanks D Jay. Thanks. Thanks Pan! :D
  2. It's what? Thanks!
  3. 4968th to 99 Farming: This all began about 14 months ago, when Farming was my lowest skill and my only skill below level 50. I decided that I was going to try and torture myself to 50 Farming by doing it "the right way". Simply put, I somehow got hooked on Farming and never really stopped. Levels and dates: 45: 1/19/08 50: 8/30/08 60: 9/3/08 70: 9/16/08 80: 12/26/08 85:1/30/09 90: 4/11/09 95: 8/11/09 96: 8/25/09 97: 9/7/09 98: 9/23/09 99: 10/9/09 While getting this level, I got to point where I realized that I was actually playing the game for fun, not because I was going for 99 Farming. 99 Farming truly came as a byproduct of my free time. I actually enjoyed Farming so much and really got into how it works that whenever I try to train any other skill I get horribly bored after 15 minutes and log off. Therefore I'm pretty much stuck with Farming, which is fine by me. I'll keep on farming (probably herbs and calquats) every now and then. Thanks to all who followed and supported me along the way, it's been alot of fun.
  4. Yep, it does take a long time to get used to. I hated the skill until I went for all 50+ (it was my last one) and never stopped. I think there's a point that once you understand how it works and develop a system that works for you, it's a very enjoyable skill.
  5. Yes I know about Newegg thanks, was wondering if you had any specific suggestions though.
  6. PCI is what I have, though I guess I wouldn't mind USB.
  7. Still looking for suggestions...
  8. I know the card is the issue, my other computer will pick up the signal at much farther distances. I'm on Windows.

  10. So when I built my new computer in a class earlier this year, the wireless card they supplied was a Netgear WG311v3. I didn't have any problems with it in our old house, but we've temporarily moved out while some construction is being done. Therefore, the wireless router got moved from 2 feet away from the computer to 20 feet, and I ended up with an extremely spotty connection. I looked at some reviews on Newegg, and found that others had the same issue. So, I'm not gonna put up with a wire running through the house and therefore will be getting a new card. I'm new to the whole idea of wireless cards (and Windows machines, I'm a Mac person) so I'm looking for your help here. Preferably something less than $50 USD, wireless-G will do fine, and I don't need more than 54Mbps. Please provide a couple options if you can, as I'll be looking locally for the card as shipping isn't cheap. Doesn't matter to much though, any suggestions are very helpful. Thanks! EDIT: while I'm at it, I'm also looking for a free program that allows me to make disk images. Every time I run my flight sim (4+ hours per day) the disk is in the drive, spinning. If I can make a disk image, I won't have to bother with having the disk in.
  11. I agree. Just what is the problem with putting something up that doesn't end up working out? It appears that there are only 35 separate posts for the MechScape forums. I know there are a lot of views, but... I don't know. I chalk it up to elitism... Because then you have people complain/rant about why it was taken down.
  12. Slow, as usual. It's what I get for having my internet piped through a 900 mile underwater cable.
  13. 10pm to 6:00am on weekdays, 7:00am on weekends.
  14. I have Darwine on my computer, not sure what application specifically I use it for but I am fairly sure that I used it without any issues. I don't know anymore about it, sorry. Been such a long time since I installed it...
  15. Been following your progress for quite a while, congratulations on finally getting max F2P.
  16. Matt91493: P2P I should already be on the staff list.
  17. Mine too. Same for me Did you wait for a bit? Mine took a while to come up. As Laura said earlier, it doesn't seem to work on UNIX based systems. However, I just tested on my Windows computer, and pinged a 62 as my lowest. I use world 66 (Seattle I believe) and that pinged at a 69, so I guess that it's a good world, lol.
  18. Firemaking was my first, and most difficult. Cooking was my next, and was somewhat easier. Farming will be my third (an easy 2.5m xp left) and by far will be the easiest. However, I think the reason my 99 have go easier as I go on is because I am learning how to choose a skill that I enjoy and fits my style of playing. I like farming because I don't have to play for long periods of time or do repetitive tasks to get xp. I think my next 99 (if I can stop the farming addiction) will be magic, as I can do it while I watch a NASCAR race every weekend. Yeah it's a constant task, but I tried it out a couple weekends ago and even forgot that I was doing it a few times.
  19. Well. I hate this update. They absolutely killed the decent look on the game in SD. New minimap doesn't match with the ground textures, I actually turned the ground blending OFF to get things to look better, new magic interface is killing my farming run times (pick a layout and stick with it, ok?) and they changed the text AGAIN, removing the border or something. Lighting seems much brighter and the colors are paler. I would much rather stick with the GE glitch than have to deal with more "updates". As a note, I play in the lowest detail version of the game you can get. SD, all options off.
  20. That's the way I see it as well.
  21. Are you using magic secatures?
  22. Simply bad luck. Average for herbs is about 6.5-6.7 herbs per patch.
  23. Thanks. I may just go for it because I don't see a new computer anywhere in the future, so this will probably be the best I can get for now.
