Lordofrah, the main difference between linux and the other common os's is that most distros aren't a put it in, click a few buttons and go, linux is an entirely different architecture, and most people don't "grow up" on linux, so there's a lot to work with if you switch. There are hardware compatibility issues, et cetera, and it's not like you can just call up a customer support line, you have to rely on information provided in the docs, or from other users on forums like this. With a mac, it's not exactly the hardest thing to work with, and you don't have to worry about hardware compatibility because you don't buy mac parts and then assemble them :? The sticky wouldn't be "All linux questions here", but more or less a bit of a guide on some of the basic functions, installation, pros/cons of distros, links to help sites, some basic terminal commands, pros/cons of kde/gnome/k and a list of oss that would take over for the things most people are used to.
