  1. Hmm, odd enough, I just recompliled apache down to 1.3.37 (manually, I don't know if cpanel did something when I used it to upgrade) and it works fine :-k Ah well, so long as it works =)
  2. [email protected] Are you gonna like put everyone's names in the first post or something?
  3. Okay, so on a dedicated server I just set up, I configured it for the domain, and cpanel's whm did it's nice little thing and automatically created my dns zone file. However, if I try to access the domain, it won't work unless I type the www prefix. By not working, I mean it displays the cpanel success page instead of the content. It also displays that same page by accessing the ip address and 404's on reqests to other pages that I've ftp'd and can access with the www prefix. This is what the dns zone that cpanel set up looks like: [hide] [/hide] I've never set up a dedicated server before, so I'm surprised I made it this far. If no one has an idea of how to fix this, could you reccomend a forum/pace that does =)
  4. You probably changed to some horrible skin. Click on profile, and scroll down to board style and see what that says.
  5. Sounds like a good excuse to get out of cooking christmas-eve dinner =) I'd go with ubuntu as a first distro, (They're supposed to have a snazzy new ui with gg and the new version of kde (edit: whoops, ubuntu uses gnome by defualt, doesn't it?)) My personal choice is gentoo, and for web servers it would have to be fedora. Gentoo is pretty overwhelming at first, so I wouldn't recommend it to someone new to linux. http://distrowatch.com is a good site to browse around before going ahead.
  6. I don't quite understand this one. How do you end up not stealing anything? the guy clearly brought the hat with him. And if he gets caught (which he did, lol) he could face criminal charges. Still sounds fun, though :D From what I got, he had his own little tag (like the ones that have on nice jeans or wahtever) and it set off the alarm. ooooooohhhhh, ok. That makes sense. I gotta get ahold of one of them :D I think the stranger rodeo is better, though. Too bad there aren't any public parks near me.... Naw, burger bowloff wins  That was good, but probably more rude than funny. The people's expressions were really good, though, especially the cellphone guy :D I loved how he yelled it though- "Cheeseburger, nugget! Nugget!" But seriously, how do you acquire a security device like that? http://cgi.ebay.com/Retail-Security-Tags-lot-of-200-Sensormatic_W0QQitemZ150198170770QQihZ005QQcategoryZ109420QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem I dunno if they're all compatible with each other, but this is the cheapest I could find that doesn't come in pack of 4000, lol, might need a bit more research.
  7. I would definitely agree. Though I still think it'd be okay to make a thread when one of the big, long time, off-topic posters were leaving, but then again, what constitutes a big, long time, off-topic poster? :-s
  8. :o But chuck doesn't consider it sex if the woman lives :notalk:
  9. Only 136657000 milliseconds left until christmas!
  10. [hide=I has a dock, too] [/hide]
  11. Or (in xp) you can download tweak ui (http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/downloads/powertoys/xppowertoys.mspx, and clicking on the very last menu option (repair) gives you the option to rebuild icons.

  13. My god, how could I have forgotten the most epic one of them all, http://youtube.com/watch?v=l8CEzILvtg8
  14. Then try Win Key + R and then type dxdiag Click on the display tab and it should have all of your video stuff.
  15. Cpanel is actually more than just a web manager. You can use it to manage things like Apache versions, MySQL, and who knows what other software on the server. It also has options for managing user accounts and other aspects of the entire machine. It's only linux based though. Plesk has a windows version, though I don't know how well it works or how to use it. I've seen it offered by multiple hosts as a cheaper Cpanel alternative. Oh, I thought he was talking about using it as like the regular windows control panel :x
  16. Cpanel is a web manager, what use would it have on a regular windows setup?
  17. Nice to meet you. You can leave now.
  18. I beg to differ. When I had issues with them, the person was fluent and very knowledgeable on the issue. Maybe I just go lucky :)
  19. It has an online/offline image on the user info side of the topic, but no "last online"
  20. If you have it on an old pc, you'll need to deactivate it on that before it'll work on the other one. I think the deactivate button is in the help menu, not sure, though
  21. He wants a laptop, and wants to be able to play games on it. You suggested a Mac Desktop. Bravo. That's nice.
  22. Whoa! Another traceur on tipit! (Besides those who get all into it when the forum goes through that "phase" and then stop the next week)
