"Money makes the world go around" a common quote some hear but is it true? throught the times of Runescape mnay players both old and new play for fun, but what has happened to it is my question? Years ago, many players could only afford such materials as Adamant or Rune if they had the money. Castle wars was a place were being rich wasnt an opression, Skills were fun, an most of all players didnt yell at others for being poor. #-o Wow, what happened there? Its 2008, Jagex returned a alternate version of Player Killing to us, we have more equipment then the Spanish Fleet and the Mini Games have become competative. lets see whats changed: Mini Games: Such games as Castle Wars, Fighting Pits and Clan Wars, used to be fun "Back Then" but thanks to the aid of Ancient Magicks, Godswords and Dark Bows, its become competative of wealth. Players will yell at you if your wearing simple Dragonhide, under Lv 80 with no high skills or simply your first time. You think you go there to have fun and ENJOY the game but in the end, you get frustrated by the fact you cant have fun because Richer players are insulting you for not meeting their amends. Yet, if you're successful they will yell at you even more with the claim in their mind "I Have better Armor/Weapons/Skills", it seems Tactics was quite clearly "Throw'n out the Window" to them. Skills: Everyone loves them, others dont. I personally enjoy Defence, Agility and Farming and amongst all players theres a variety of skills they may hate or enjoy. but over the past 2 years from the realease of Skill Capes, its turned into a race to see "Who has a better Cape". People buy "Easy Skills" such as Fetching, Firemaking and Cooking because all you need is money to get that 99 Fast. Players who do the skills out of enjoyment have turned sour from others bragging about getting a 99 first. once more, money may have got YOU a 99 skill but did it realy bring you happiness of achieving a goal or did you only do it just for some Canvas with a painting of an icon on the back and an Emote to go with it? Friendship and Clans: Possibly the very backbone of your Runescape life, having friends and being in a clan of those you enjoy being with. but now thanks to Skill Capes, High Powered Armor and some Over Powered Clumps of metal known as the Godswords, things have taken a bit of a spin. Im only Lv 109, nothing fancy, no high level skills, just playing for 7 years and going at my own pace, but if Iwere to gain entrance into a clan, i'd be pushing it. Most clans i see aren't Australian based so it makes time zones a problem, but the Requirements for someone of my Combat Level or even Higher/Lower to join make it limiting even more. Clans requiring a 90+/99 Skill for Combat, Total Level thats hard to obtain, and most of all your Equipment. some cannot join clans because they cant afford Godswords, all they want to do is have fun and enjoy the game with those of simular levels, but they cant because they cannot afford or given the chance to try and obtain one. Now, you as a fellow community tell me: Is being Rich the #1 thing you must be upon Runescape now? or like Jagex's real plan 8+ years ago the same: "Having Fun and Meeting new people." In the end, is having a nice little sum fine or must you have Billions just to make you seem High N' Mighty along with your Ego and Skills as i've sadly seen with some players. Discuss, im quite interested in this "Story" for the past few months and your response upon it.

exactly. jagex gives ye'r a bloody warning before you log in saying the potential risks of the PVP server(s), its 100% their fault for not taking heed to the warning.

i personally wanna see these riots. last i checked, im ALLOWED to rant about an in game feature that ticks me off. for the sake of us and TIF, dontr go flaming me JUST because you disagree. if i was anything like you i'd have posted some stupid motivational poster showing your arrogance but im not going to sink to your level. -.- and Kellis, while i dont mind the experiance, its the clothing i mostly go for as its a costless suit that looks good to skill in, rather then spend 500k+ for a nice skillers outfit. now dont get me wrong, i enjoy it, but when im only "50" below ringmaster i get nothing just because i've collected all the clown clothing and acrobat clothing. would it kill you jagex to simply allow us to get the next lowest item? this is the 2ND week in a row its happened and i've wasted my performance for that bloody fat-rat to say: "Im sorry, But you've already collected the clothing for this score" sheesh! 'eh, good thing i dont give into peer pressure. been tempted to try both but i tend to worry about the effects it causes (too much of a health freak) and my god, the amount of young people who smoke! :| do gotta ask, if i was to try a smoke or pot or whatever, how should i do it rather then run to the local druggy down the street with $10 waving in my hand, flailing it around like a 5yo winning his first football trophy?

saying "get over it" would seem nooby but you gott'eh realise not ALL players are going to do the honourable thing. I myself would tele IF i was being teamed on OR a huge level distance (109 - 127). but playing more then a few years you get that experiance (especially when they coulda dropped a whip and teleblock ran out as you delt the final blow :wall: )

From what i've been told there stronger but have better drops then those at the lighthouse and waterbirth. i think high anti-range gear was recommended for them.

same, killers needs materials, thus skillers need materials thus i make a ton from (hush hush). you'll be waiting at least 2+ weeks before prices stabalise. i'd say during then you level up your skills and get your own materials cause things are onyl going to rise.

or if they fixed the stupid health systems like new facilities etc we might actully praise them. and yeah, when you have a sister who downloads a ton and broadband (telstra) while dishing out 60$ a month, its going to destroy online gaming here since i'll have to pay 80-100$ JUST to increase speed. crap! that means I'll need to get a job just for faster internet, as mum will not pay anymore, and if I can pass it off as rent I can get the money from CentreLink, as I will then be eligable for Youth Allowance (or is it something with student in its name..? :-k ) As my friend is doing that, he pays for his internet, he calls it rent, but is only paying for the internet, and gets enough to pay for it (he is an only child, and his parents don't use the internet, so they won't pay for it.) depends, you cant get youth allowance under 2 rules: your under 18 and your parents earn too much (my case, even though 90% goes into morgage) your over 18, outta school and have a job. but usually most people over 18 have a job. or you could get a girlfriend and knock her up for baby bonus and centerlink to pay out for it fortnightly. (which sadly four teen girls did in wagga wagga, regardless who the father was.)

i see your pain (doing 99 defence with atk/str kept at 80 :wall: ) grab a salve amulet, or salve (e) if you can, do desert treasure and do Damis' Lair. the giant skeles are fast experiance there or Defender of Varrock for the lv85 Armored Zombies. using my friends Saradomin Godsword i got about 70k exp an hour. realy helped getting 89 defence. (only 10 to go. ;-; ) or do apes. that way you can use protect melee AND chivalry.

in my opionion, dont get raveled up in the whole skillcape crap. im 109 and i dont even have a skill cape let alone a skill in thr 90's yet. enjoy the game for what it is. but if your realy keen and WONT back out of it try fletching or hunter. i'd personally say hunter since you make quite a good sum to 99 and you dont spend any getting 99 (besides 10k for traps etc)

this is why i need a new console. i play runescape too much and often get bored. but in 2 weeks im getting a Wii and play'n that a ton i'd prob not be back till X mas event.

You have no idea how much [cabbage] mods get for the crown next to their name, do you? execpt for the mods that appear in Forsakenmage's chat I believe that crown is made if spray painted cardboard -.- P.S. Did you rally call them swine? i've never seen a bad mod in For's chat yet and im there whenever im on runescape (well besides one that everyone seems to contradict). but most Wbm's report like crazy in attempts to get the fabled Silver Crown (which isnt even worth much). then once they get mod ship they realise its not that easy. my opinion, report if its major or affecting you/swearing at you, besides that forget it. it's what kept my gaming life enjoyable and Ignore list clean. :

Only reason i state when i started in my Sig (01) is to also go with my not-so-great total level etc. after they ask why such low skills, its proof there i didnt spend my time crunching away skills to be "hardcore" or "popular". its me saying i play at a steady pace enjoying it as i go. (especially castle wars mind you : ) i suppose it doesnt say "im better then you", but in my case says "i have seen the changes throught the gaming career". doesn't mean im better then you of course, in fact im proberly quite the opposite. :lol: but some people have a certain "Pride" to it (belive it or not) and simply show it without the bragging parts of going "i played since 2000, had full rune and lv 99str. im better then you". (personally i only got to lv9 and stopped playing for a while after Xmas event so i raise my hand in saying "I suck" : ) but think of it like this: Its like being an Australian, American or Antartican; whereever you are you have the pride of where you came from. which is sorta where it all links....if you get what i mean.

Please, anything but ANOTHER high level update. i'd say there all long dead as hence why the 3d age is worth soo much but may have a type of dragon linked to them and released in a quest? Pure, Olleh would haxx the dragons like he does with visages. -.-

how dont we have skill? 60 prayer + Chivalry, 88 defence, and highest defence equipment keeps us living long for you to come back a second time and die again. ANY player can use whatever they may to "THEIR" advantage. any player here knows that. were not going to stick by some stupid "Player Killing" code and fight fair. but when PvP comes out you'll only learn the hard way at the fact: We dont care what you want, we fight our methods. i suppose your next arguement is why a hybrid like you cant wear armor... and FYI: Noob is an attitude, not a level. because last i checked im not rousing on players for using a skill they raised unlike yourself. :shame:
