One thing to keep in mind is that essence is only 5 xp per piece, so no matter what method you choose, you will never achieve any kind of good xp. I'd much sooner recommend you hunt shooting stars.

I'd say to go with a 2h, since you have the advantage of using multiple styles, which would certainly be more beneficial than the potentially higher dps of the bow.

There's definitely an imbalance between offense and defense, however it's simply not as problematic as many believe it to be. Sure, you can 1 hit most players with the proper equipment, but it's still balanced because most players have access to said equipment. The only reason there are any complaints is that the advantages in pvp have shifted from skill and strategy to equipment.

Essentially, conc. (concentrated) gold is the woodcutting version of mining. You click on the rock and receive multiple ores over time, much like when you cut ivy. It's located in a chasm in the Dwarven mines and gives around 60k xp/hour (so significantly less than granite) and is easily afkable (which balances out the 5 or 10k advantage granite has over it).
