So what is your sister going to be using this for?
-
Fable or The Lost Chapters version of it? I have TLC and its pretty good, tad short though...

Add to that an Antec TruePower II-550 Watt PSU, which will take the total price up to $2334.50 and you've got something that will pretty much equal the computer listed in the original post. It has the same 12 month warranty as the other site aswell. Personally, i would go with the set up i listed as its a Core 2 Duo rig and i feel the parts i listed would be better than their system. Granted it is a tad more expensive, your getting good parts which will last you a while.
-
It wont be able to run a crossfire or SLi set up, you need special chipsets for that, but you will be able to run single cards on them however, but as i said, its not what the OP was after, so we shouldnt go much further into it.
-
The only thing you have to worry about motherboards supporting different cards is if you intend to run dual cards. But you're not doing that, so forget i said anything :P I have one question for you though, would you be comfortable building your own system from scratch?
-
Some thing does sound awefully wrong. It could be a problem with your motherboard. Thats the only thing i could think that may affect two hard drive running different connectors. Other than that, if its really got you stumped, take it into a local repair joint and get them to take a look.

Halo 2 is coming to PC. But only if you have Vista

I have a mate at school who drunk about 2 cans and 1 bottle of Red Bull and he said his chest was hurting a bit, heart palpitations is one of the effects of too much caffeine. Eh, hes alright now though. I'm looking at a can of Red Bull i had before work today, and it contains 80mg of caffeine. Now, if I've added this up right, 350% more caffeine is only about 280mg of caffeine. Compare that to the average cup of instant coffee that has about 65-100mg of caffeine in it which means in 1 cup of "Cocaine" your drinking the same amount of caffeine you would get from a bit under 3 cups of instant coffee. So, i dont quite know why i went on that little rant above, but i did. Anyway, its all just a marketing ploy and it seems to be working.

It all looks fine, except for that video card, which will absolutely suck hard. Get a 7600GT or 7900GS if possible. You will get much better performance out of either of those two cards because if you get the 7300, you'll most likely have to get a better card anyway because it will choke under the strain of newer games.
-
If your able to build a computer yourself, you should because you would be able to build a computer that is as good, if not better than the one listed there for the same price or cheaper. And if thats the way you decide to go, i would be more than happy to select parts for you arent up to date with all the current parts or are just unsure if everything will be compatible. Just my 2 cents.

Proof RuneScape does actully use a graphics card?
Stuart_G replied to d3nic's topic in Tech and Computers
The difference in graphics quality between high and low detail is non-existant. Its the extra little details that you get on high detail which put that extra bit of load on the CPU which then results in the lag. As for the difference between your onboard chip and the 6800. The problem with onboard cards is that they share resources like RAM and bandwidth which is putting more stress on other parts which results in the lag. With a stand alone video card you have no stress on other parts because they are operating on its own processor and RAM, which in turn lets other parts do their jobs to their full potential. -
That is classic. Made of 110% win. What is the source of that .gif anyway, i too would like to know.

It's because the humidity helps make a layer of moisture which lets the discharge usually go straight to earth. Take a look at this Wikipedia page, explains it a bit better. Here

So, I need me a DVD-ROM...[Insentive inside!]
Stuart_G replied to Tigra00's topic in Tech and Computers
Windows picks up most CD/DVD drives these days and will install the required drivers needed so they are pretty much plug and play. Because you already had a CD drive, it was just a matter of taking the old one out and sticking the new one in, so no new connectors needed, which is why i listed the OEM drive for you. Sorry for any confusion you may have had about it :anxious: -
Happens to me sometimes when im under extreme lag, not so much on my new computer, but on my crappy 2.4GHz Northwood P4, it would happen quite often. So there is probably nothing wrong with your computer, its just its lagging and it cant keep up with every thing which results in a few seconds of looped music.

(url=http://img506.imageshack.us/img506/9486/90attdj9.png]90 Attack[/url] Change the first bracket to the proper square one and it will work fine, just like this VV 90 Attack And if your going to be using forums a bit, it is worth learning the codes you will most likely use frequently while on a forum

So instead of picures you want url links? Easy. {url=http://www.blahblah.com]What you want it to be called here Replace that first bracket with the proper sqaure one and put the url of the pictures location where "http://www.blahblah.com" is and it should make a link to the picture with the text you choose to put in where i put "What you want it to be called here" Hope that helps. If not, please clarify what you want better.

Heh, 7 people and you only share roughly 10GB of music. I have over 26GB of music just for me :-w But yeah, hard drive useage wont slow down the computer unless your running low on space, about 85% or higher can cause problems as Diminished2b said. Defragmentation can help speed up your system a little because it arranges fragmented files back into order so it makes the task of finding files easier, thus making your computer that little bit more responsive. My suggestion is if you are running dangerously low on HDD space, go out and buy a second drive of equal or larger size and use that one for MP3/Video/Data that isnt vital to your computer and use it to store things on.
-
So you downloaded BF2... Or do you mean installed BF2? If you downloaded it from the internet, how big was the file size and where did you get it from? If you installed it from a legal, store bought disk, uninstall it then reinstall it. If that doesnt work, it could possibly be a hardware problem and your current set up doesnt have what it take to run it. If thats the case, ill bet that its your video card and it just cant run it.

link to video, please? :P Link Here, click on the links up the top which correspond to where your situated in the world and have a look at the videos for some of the Wii Channels they have lined up. I'm assuming that's what GSW was referring to anyway.

Europe are also getting Wii Sports bundled in with their consoles too, even more of a bargain.
-
Transcript for the Euro conference here.

Yeah, Europe will either get it before Japan does, after Australia or somewhere in between those two dates. But Wii in Europe will be before Christmas this year, i can pretty much guarantee it. How can i guarantee it? Because Nintendo would be bloody stupid not to have Wii out globally before Christmas.
