Planks are over twice, even three times as fast as logs. Larders with demon butler is 220k/h (friend claims) Oak doors with reg butler is 180k/h (personally) With the time you save, you can craft more runes. At the end, you would lose less money and it would be more efficent. Those are ideal, the problem is that It would require an extra week to make the cash needed. So total of 2 weeks for cash + 1/3 week (since it's 3 times faster) to construction = 2 weeks and a third (or close to 2 weeks). otherwise my way it's 1 week for money and 1 week for construction. I'm averaging 120k exp per hour so in the end it's a tad faster. Also, I'm low on supplies so I'm likely to be less efficient rcing, I need to get combat up which will be done after 99 con. In the end this is the method that works best and fastest for me even if it may not seem that way Aside, I'm now in the top 100 constructors and i have 94/99 it's only 5 more lvls now

remember the annoying pures, they can hit just as good as a lvl 120 but they're disguised as lvls 70-80.

Should the tradeable items of the past be taken out off rs?
Solidus_77 replied to MasterSamus's topic in General Discussion
My god I don't think I've seen so many crack economic theories since ARR (Alching Ruins Runescape) on the runescape forums. I should have come here, ah well. From a game point of view, rares represent the ultimate goal for people who want to be rich. Consider it like a skillcape of money, an ultimate goal that makes the bearer a rich person. Removing this would shatter the hopes of many people. You might notice that most of the people complaining about rares are people who judge the items for their utility alone and complain about the price being too high. This is quite wrong, as they represent an accomplishment in money basically and removing it would make the rants forum set ablaze. Horrible idea From an economic point of view rares act the way any supply-inelastic item would. This means the percentage change in quantity supplied is less (or in this case none) than the percentage change in quantity demanded. They obviously rise and are bought and sold all the time. If they are removed, a large chunk of cash would be removed from the game but this would not immediately mean inflation. There will probably be more people buying things other than rares but there will also be a lot less people with gigantic ammounts of cash saved as rares. My guess is that the change will be much less significant than most people anticipate, but then again, I can't think of any reason why this would take place. -
Winning really is no fun at all , who could possibly want an easy 2 tickets? Winning isn't everything. If the round is fun, I don't care if I win or lose. On the other hand, if the game gets boring, like when people hold their own flags, I'll quit the game, even if I am on the winning side (I've quit more games where I was winning than losing because of this). Also, you can cheat and still not break any rules. Cheat codes on other games may be programmed in to the game, and thus "allowed" by the programmers, but you're still cheating by using them. As far as I'm concerned, holding your own flag in cw is the same as activating God Mode or No Clip on Half Life. Yes, you can do it and it makes the game a lot easier, but it also makes the game far more boring. Cheat codes are considered cheating because they give you a completely cheap ability without having to do anything. To hold your own flag you must kill the opponent. Which part of this do you not understand? You are acting as if people can grab their own flag at any time. If it was possible to grab one's own flag at any time, it would be too easy but this is not the case. You need to kill the opponent which isn't always easy. Furthermore you must not be killed after having grabed your own flag. These are two conditions. Cheat codes are different because there are NO conditions, you just have to imput a sentance and then you get some unfair advantage. But flagholding isn't unfair because you had to work for it.

It's really no different for how runescape works these days, it's just an extreme. Take smithing for example, there are systems where you can lose no money, but they are very slow. The fastest way to get 99 smithing costs 100 mill (with 40% return). The idea is, for the exp being faster, the cost is higher therefore for instantanious exp, the cost is insane.

Although there are valid points why jagex would lean towards the middle class of runescape, I think that's just an assumption. Jagex doesn't favorize a particular lvl class in runescape. Proof with the skillcapes: they were obviously designed for the higher lvls, and there were a lot of idiots who claimed the right to a lvl 70 cape, but Jagex didn't remove skillcapes or add lvl 70 ones because of that. Also, there have been times when even mass rants havn't changed jagex's mind. Look at barrows, the day they were released, rants forum set ablaze. Everyone was ranting about how barrows made dragon armor worthless etc... But we still have barrows. I think people are looking at what jagex has done with the 2 new rules and used that as evidence for "jagex listens to the masses" theory. They annonced that even they themselves were really not sure about the idea, so it shouldn't be a surprise that they are more easily influenced by player feedback. Finally, if a quest is released and lower lvls complain about it being too hard, I can't think of a single valid argument for why they should have the right to get the quest point cape. Besides, as the quest point cape gets harder and harder to get, lower lvls will not be as many to have it

Is rc pking all that bad? how to escape rc pkers?
Solidus_77 replied to mrmyk's topic in General Discussion
I believe bringing a sara brew(4) is pretty helpful since it gives you defence and hp. Once i got tbed/entangled, it totally saved me That's a good idea, because it fits all in one space. The usual problem is that people for example bring 3 or 4 sharks. This considerably harms their production. Remember the goal is to make as many nats as possible, so focusing on that is a priority and finding ways to dodge the pkers is secondary. However you've found something that's usefull while only taking up one space, which is a pretty good deal. -
The main difference is that you have to use these items that you purchased. If you think that once you got the planks you've just about got 99 construction you're sorely mistaken. It DOES take time to turn this money into exp, which is why buying lamps would be horribly broken. The following I copy & pasted from my response in another thread I, too, dissagree that buying your way to 99 makes it less admirable. You can't just spend the money, snap your fingers, and get 99. You have to invest money AND time. Remember that the money will take time to get. therefore you are invest time AND even more time. This is respectable. Say it takes a month to get the cash for the skill and then you get it within a week. Then say another cape, which cannot be affected by cash, takes you 3 weeks to get. According to the logic of buying your way to 99 being less admirable, this would mean that the second cape is more admirable. But which took more time and efford? The first one. People often forget the tremendous effort put into getting the cash. It shouldn't be overlooked and it DOES count as efford

Too bad you're only 56 slayer  . And I've heard you don't get 2 whips every 2 hours. So at least make you're lies believable. I should have been more specific. Look at my runecrafting lvl. That's right: I'm a double nat crafter. I make about 4k nats per hour, which averages out to 1 mill per hour, one of the best moneymaking systems on runescape. He did and I much agree with it, except he didn't mention the percentage of income factor

Question: Least-Admirable Skill Cape

Do you know why they are at that price? because people will gladly pay for them Take the wc axe for example, am I willing to pay 2000 times more to get a better axe? of course I will, because for me, that's only 2 hours of work at the abyss. but is a less rich player willing to pay that much if it takes them a week to get it? Most likely no. This shows that the person with a much lower income will probably not buy it. This is because people will buy things depending on the percentage of their income. If you buy bubblegum for $2, and bubblegum doubles in price, it's now $4. Would you suddenly stop buying bubblegum? No, because it's just an extra $2. But what if you were buying a ferrari? Say the ferrari doubles in price. Would you buy it? Probably not, because I assume that thousands of dollars is a higher percentage of your income. That is how the percentage of income works, it's used in economics for depermining the elasticity of a good. Since this is a percentage, different people will react very differently. For some the Differnce in price is a high percentage of their income, for others it's a very low percentage.

With 23 different skills, you can't just say "all skillcapes are common" because they have such an insane range 10k people have fletching cape 70 people have construction cape See the difference? the ratio is over 100:1 Fire cape, besides being a completely different challenge, will be rarer than some skillcapes but more common than others. There are definetly not "hardly any" lava capes.

My Goal For a Party Hat [100k nats]
Solidus_77 replied to l0rd's topic in BlogScape (Ongoing Progress Reports and Goals)
It has good speed an regularity, you can always could on it. Good luck, I think (not sure, doing this off the top of my head) this should get you past 75 rc when you can use the giant pouch. This makes things a lot faster -
my friend, you are missing out. Given the right income, construction can be the greatest skill ever 8-) well sort of update: 54k/144k done. Also, I was killed by a nasty pure today, but this does highlight the important of house tele tablets. I was attacked by this guy, down to 3 hp (wasn't easy, had some lagg) so I teleported to my house. The only problem was that I was poisoned so I knew I was going to die the minute I got in my house, which happened. However I simply spawned outside my house with no items lost. When you die in your house you lose nothing.... I forgot about that rule

Monty Python related quest? That would be awsome! -
That is beyond believable to me!!! Thats like 12 hours using the abyss...right? - 6 days if you carry on like this. Your stats are totally unbelievable, 93 runecrafting and 90 con before 1650 total...I'm nearly 1650 and my best level is 87hp/fletching. more like 8 hours, the fastest ideal is 2k ess per hour (I like to think in terms of ess crafted), but it's usually more like 1,7-1,8k ess crafted per hour. Also I met about 6 ancient magicks users, no problem dodging with teleports but they take a while to find the flaw in their strategy, wasting their bloods and my time. Thanks for the compliments on my stats
