i doubt its the hardest 99, *stares at construction*. but i do agree its a tough skill to train once your above 65. Construction hardest? you can buy 99 construction if you have alot of cash you cant buy 99 slayer.. GRATS ON 92 SLAY :D well technically, getting the money would be much tougher. how would it be much tougher getting the cash for 99 construction then getting 99 slayer ? do you have any idea how long it takes to get 99 slayer ? Obviously you dont have a clue. I also said "if you have alot of cash" it would be easy to get 99 contruction. Saying "getting 99 construction is easy if you have a lot of cash" is like saying "getting 99 slayer is easy if you have 98 slayer" Getting the cash is the hardest part for construction, of course getting a hard skill to 99 is easy if you've already done the hardest part! That aside, slayer is the second rarest skillcape, and very nice looking, go for it!

About time to release the next plague city quest??

I thought so too at the beginning, but the end was rather abrupt and the latest poll seems to show otherwise. All that combined with wishfull thinking has made me reconsider -

Pure essence and the blood rune matziv
Solidus_77 replied to slayernm613's topic in General Discussion
Prices of pure ess goes up ---> more people start mining it --> price goes back to more or less what it was (with a dramatic increase in quantity supplied) It's a good thing. Think of it this way: there are tons of people who can mine rune ess but don't bother doing it because they have other systems, but if rune ess goes up, a lot of these people will find it easier to mine rune ess to make cash and thus will start to mine it if the price goes up By definition it will, more will be supplied at every price. The question is, will the % change in quantity supplied be greater or less than the % change in price (aka elasticity of demand). Bloods are demanded as they have many uses and no close substitues, so if the price rises by say 20%, the demand will probably fall by something less than 20% since most people will still buy bloods. Get the idea? If it's unclear at this point I'll try and give a better explanation. Now when the price goes down, the consumers will benifit since they now have to pay a lot less, and the demand will not raise by more than the fall in price. This could be also said for pure ess but the difference is that the blood crafters are far more limited -
I wish I had one, or at least been back in the time when they were around. I do, however, laugh in the face of people in complete denial claiming that they are just pixels, have no value or some other crap like that

What if...Official Purchasable Content/Resources

On the other hand, they want to make money. And if you think about it, they make the same money off of a player that uses an hour of server time a month, or 10 hours a day of server time. So ultimately, they make "more" off the player that pays monthly, but plays the least. If you "buy" in cash in one shot, what it would take in months of game time to get, the company comes out the same or perhaps even ahead. but if they do that, people will think that it will be allowed to buy from anyone selling runescape items. They still want to maintain rule 12 and I think they care about their players a little too much to kill the game. -
Are Party Hats and Other Rares Going Extinct?
Solidus_77 replied to Ouchy's topic in General Discussion
I don't know what you've been reading, but the great depression was not caused by rare artifacts (i.e, things that can only decrease in quantity and thus constantly increase in price) dissapearing in the world. It was simply a matter of people putting much faith into the stock market and having a GIGANTIC sell-off which ended up ruining people's lives. There were also many, many exterior factors that simply don't work the way runescape does. There will be no economic crash since they will go slowly and gradually, as swampjedi said, it's like a line on a graph, it will meet the axis sometime (now, when those last, say 5 phats, are in the world the price will skyrocket) It will be very, VERY hard to buy them without already possessing a rare item which is annoying but not a crash in the economy. There is no way they will be reinserted either. Who would get them? How many would be released? Jagex will not do that now and there is no reason for them to do it in the futur. -

I totally agree, especially the bolded part. Different people like different things for different reasons. I've talked to people who love the spirit of the hunter skill and I've seen people on the forums who despise it for it's lack of goals to strive for or monetary gains. Hunter simply does not support them, but other updates do. Notice how different updates have pleased different likes: the skillcapes update for people who like goal/achievement systems, DKings for the money people, Cold War! for fans of hidden references (like me) and the list goes on. -

There is no way they would do it. They said themselves that they do not want social status to determine one's status ingame -
Question: Least-Admirable Skill Cape
Solidus_77 replied to Lunar_Drifter's topic in General Discussion
when it's a lot of logs, that's respectable yah. why dont you actually try fm'img? Then youll find out how hard it is compared to some skills... ie. fletching, cooking, prayer (bought) (most people can do it in 5 days with the required materials) I dont see many fm capes walking around? Do you? It's one of the more popular ones, don't believe me? Even toast has it! No seriously, it's a respectable cape because it requires lots of cash and has NO return however the exp rates for firemaking are just about as generous as cooking and, even without the make x button it's still about average. I do agree, it's more respectable than fletching and cooking (not prayer, prayer is more expensive) and I do dislike the fact that people just use the excuse of "it can be bought" or stupid arguments of "it's just pixels/clicking/a game" like the one I was responding to. Do you realize that I was acctually arguing do defend firemaking in that quote? Also, I don't like how you say This implies that buying the materials is not important and what acctually counts is the acctual exp gaining. You can get a party hat in a few seconds if you don't count the days, or even months, needed to get the cash. OF COURSE all those days count, it's part of getting the skill! You don't start out with all those materials do you? You have to get them and that takes time, in some cases a lot of time. Finally, I don't really need to experience the difficulty of firemaking, I have mastered Construction which costs a lot more than firemaking. You don't see a lot of construction capes walking around because there are less than 100 of them. -
Does RuneScape Give a Benefitical Learning Experence?
Solidus_77 replied to Zaaps1's topic in General Discussion
The details can sometimes tell you a bit about how things works. Like a blast furnace, fueled with coke, is used to refine iron into steel. Obviously the typing benifits are the most noticable and I'm tempted to say that it can teach you some basic economics based on my experiences but that really depends as I have seen a lot of misinterpretations (ex: Prices were going down so someone said there was an inflation problem, which is so wrong it's funny) -
Skiller gone combat, just like me and for the same reasons. There's two reason for you not to worry first of all, combat training is pretty easy and the exp rates increase as you get stronger (unlike skills which will have a fixed determined rate), so it might take you a while to get 100k combat exp now, but that will not always be the case. second of all, pest control. It's so good exp people always say it's broken, find the joys of getting tons and tons of exp using pc
