  1. time alone is not the only matter. Cooking is very repetitive while quests are acctually enjoyable. That can make all the difference
  2. just because they made one skill easier does not mean they will do so for every skill
  3. it actually slayer thats hard You don't understand? Theres 4 definate skills that can train hp and then 1 more that can give hp exp. To get straight 98's in that without 99 hp is hard For slayer your could just use a ring of recoil, like hmm what was the fellas name. He had 50+ Slayer at level 3 or something The other stats, you could just use controlled the whole way. But of course magic + ranged would be hard. You get HP xp from the kill right? As long as you dont kill the monster and collect the xp from every hit you could do it aye? maybe this, use pc on controlled and use points on range. Then alch for 99 mage. then get all the rest on slayer task using controlled making sure the slayer exp is above the hp exp. This would be very VERY hard
  4. attack 90 - martial arts strengh 70 - decently strong, but not nearly my best defence - 99 I've done self-defensive martial arts for a while range 55 - fun but i have limited experience hp - 70 not at my best prayer - 2 I've gone to church very very few times magic - 70 I love magic tricks construction - 77 I've been the one who set up most of the furniture in my house (once had to work without a hammer) and made g mod contraptions crafting 20 - I have experience in basic leather making agility 99 - Not only I am quite a good track runner, but I love rock climbing and climbing in general (trees, roofs, etc...) mining - no exp smithing - 43 done some welding cooking - 80 I bake cookies, fry steaks, make pasta. Lots of stuff fishing 10 - tried it, no good firemaking 50 - made campfires as well as fires in a stove herblore - 31 good in chemistry but very little exp directly related to herblore fletching 15 - made some arrows and a bow that didn't work woodcutting 45 I cut wood, logs but not very often farming - use to grow stuff like pumpkins over the summer. Can't find time for that anymore theiving - no pickpocketing but I've participated in some "stealthy activities" hunting 5 - tried, and failed slayer doesn't apply
  5. Still a fun game (havn't finished it yet). Thanks a lot for the sig.
  6. oh wait this is ever placed? that'd be 75th for construction shorty after i got it, it was not at a time when it was brand new either. 99th is for current
  7. that assumption doesn't fit the time frame
  8. It's funny. some people went for a skill because it's easy. I went for a skill because it's hard.
  9. did you forget the image tags [img*][/img*] (without the *) around the sig?
  10. I wanted a challenge, and I wanted to get a rare skill to 99. I don't feel like the greatest when I share my cape with 10k other people. That was my main reason, I do also love the skill and wanted to get the best of it's features

  12. A skillcape is like a spotlight that hangs over you wherever you go. Rarer the skillcape, the bigger the spotlight. I have become the center of attention no matter where I go, it was TOTALLY worth all the effort.
  13. You do realize that they look at what has been said over the past minute right? One of my best friends has two 99 skill capes and a quest cape. We try holding a conversation and we get bombarded by at least four people asking for his emote. Turn off chat you say? That doesn't make them stop following you. How about when I was fishing and he came over to keep me company? A level 37 kept following him asking for money(My friends was wearing full dragon). He kindly said no. The 37's reply? "Well I'll just keep following you and asking until you do." So he followed. And he repeatedly said "money please money please money please money please " THAT is begging not asking for one thing and then leaving with a no. The only people who would consider being polite begging are the ones who are immature, shouldn't be playing the game due to age, and are soon to be banned due to false reporting. First of all I'm not clear on what you mean in the underlined part. Polite begging? Second of all, that's harassment, and I believe it's reportable (rule 1, but a double check can't hurt). The small cases of begging is like someone calling someone a noob. It's not enough to get you reported, it's only when the person is insisting to the extreme, just like bombarding them with offensive insults. I get a lot of "do the emote", when I don't want to answer I get all kinds of responses but none of them are serious, they will give up after a while. That is harassment but not severe. Usually you report someone when they are harming you (for rule 1 at least).
  14. I had heard about the me2 being a hard quest (around the time it came out) because of the infamous hand holds. Eventually, I got to the terrible obstacle, I drank my agility potion and I graped on hoping that I wouldn't fall. Then I found myself on the first floor thinking "Looks like I'll be at this all day..." And now was just the beginning. So I get back to the obstacle and I go for it again then back on the fir.... wait what!? I made it across! Was this perhaps too easy? was there some kind of trick? Or is it the fact that 67 agility worked ok when 70 agility is recommended? It makes me wonder. That's why I cannot say me2 was the hardest quest, at all. It was a fun puzzle, a hard quest but not the hardest. RFD wins easily because the boss monsters surpass those of DT. It was quite a challenge, I guess I was the perfect level to take them on and have an enjoyable fight when I didn't know if I would win or not (for some, I heard, it was no problem but they are way stronger than I was at the time). I think I was about 85 combat? Anyways, it was hard but it was very, very fun indeed In the end there are different challenges which will appear harder for different people. The series of boss monsters was the hardest for be, because at the time I was not very strong in combat, while others had no difficulty. Some people found the agility trap because they have weak skills in this case agility while I did it with no difficulty.
  15. Ha, so true. I mean, it's possible with like weeks of prior planning and maps and all... but anything somewhat spur of the moment? Don't even bother trying : Haha, you'd know. You've got quite a story yourself. Mine was basically Improvised overnight, I only heard about it a few hours or so before it happened too. Tons of fun that trip, although after going through a challenge course (filled with mud, you get sprayed with the hose and can only run indoors in your underwear) I had a small annoying. I saw a few girls, but they think ahead, wearing 2 pairs of shorts dangit! It got less fun when I got to my room and the door was locked leaving me standing outside the door in my boxers and bloody knee (slipped since there was water and mud everywhere). Finally after 10 mins they open the door, one was in the shower, the other jumped out the window. My friend whitnessed the bed-sheet thing. According to him, the guy had a bit of trouble holding on and he wasn't 100% sure about the knots (was tied to the radiator apparently) Best of all was the tree. We get there and everyone is just chatting, one guy smoking, and everyone telling each other to shut the hell up. Untill we hear "ok what's going on in here?", and being blinded by flashlights. Most people paniced (like me) and ran out of the tree I ran straight through it, praying not to trip over any branches (this tree has branches that cover the ground, it's a bit hard to explain, but imagine a tree that has spread out branches and a burried trunk. It makes the best hide-out in the world). a few mins later, the word gets out that the staff (camp staff) was there, but they didn't care what we did and apparently even offered us drinks (beer). The second one sucked, and the third was annother stampeed but not nearly as funny.
  16. I assume you ment to say "but only costs 25% of the faster method" instead of "25% less"? Anyway, your lineair definition of efficiency merely shows that spending money on skills is not efficient - under your definition - in the first place. You'd end up concluding that smelting steel bars (no costs) would be the most efficient if you considered that too, despite it being only ~10-15K / hour or so. Your self-made definition of efficient misses the point that time = money, which is rather important here. What is the most efficient actually depends on the money making abilities of individual players. To keep it simple: Level 99 = 13 mil exp needed. Leveling by steel requires 13mil / 77K = 170 hours. Leveling by gold requires 13mil / 44K = 295 hours. Difference 295 - 170 = 125 hours. Steel costs from level 1: 140mil Gold costs from level 1: 80mil (your 60mil was based on level 85 smithing already) Difference 140mil - 80mil = 60mil So for steel bar smithing to be more useful 125 hours > 60 mil thus 1 hour > 480K. I.e. for everyone who is able to gain 480K per hour or more in some way, it is more efficient to level using steel bars, for anyone who is unable to do so, the gold ore would be more efficient instead. Making up the difference in cash in less than the difference in time. For some reason I forgot the whole income thing. Great, so the conclusion shows that one method will be more efficient in different circumstances. That changes the question however, it's a method within a skill which is expensive, not just the skill itself.
  17. banned for discriminating the squirrels oh snap
  18. I nominate Jack Bauer for Hp. That guy is immortal
  19. banned because "watch your wallet" is not a cool catchphrase. And it could get stuck in someone's head therefore it's a danger to public sanity
  20. 20/10 1 It's anime 2 I just love her
  21. ~140mil as I calculated earlier. How about you two guys come up with the actual exp / hour ratio's of smithing gold ore or smithing steel bars. If xpx is right with 77K / hour (steel bars) vs 44K / hour (gold ore) then yes, steel bars are indeed more efficient. And most efficient way for farming seems magic trees indeed, which puts the skill up to some ~150mil or so as well. That's why I asked for the amount. 140 mill at 77k per hour for steel (140 mill, that includes the return, right?) 60 mill at 44k per hour (100 mill - 40 mill) gold wins? now for farming, is there are return that needs to be counted there? as someone said ealier, they had a return on the poisons and such.
  22. During the retreat a year ago it was insane. We planned to sneak out and go to this fun tree. It was pretty well organized however, cell phones as flashlights, mirrors to look around the walls, socks on all the light sensors (the place has about 20 motion-detector lights) and even tieing bedsheets to go the window. Anyways, we tried this 3 times. The first we got busted by the staff of the camp (this was insane, picture everyone running in a random direction out of a tree). Second time was actually a fake (someone apparenly cried "wolf" and that started a panic, i never found out what the hell that was all about). Third time, we were playing basketball. This time the teachers came out and we were gone in a flash (I was the last to go) I made it out alright, although I was afraid the door I was planning to go in might be locked (locks from the inside, we had to jam it with a bottlecap). Some guys ran into a different room, they got busted and suspended. Morals: Mass sneakouts are fun as hell Keeping a group of over 10 people to keep quiet and move stealthly is impossible Sneaking out at 1 am and then having to wake up at 5:30 is painfull
