  1. I love Arena, its nice and quick versus the 60 minute games you get into on classic maps. Don't diss it folks. :P
  2. Why is the majority of people here ashamed of saying they enjoy fast food. If you've eaten fast food chances are you like it, its created to be liked. So stop with all the [cabbage] about how "you get sick to your stomach after eating it", we know its not true. Edit - AWoooogaaaa, noticed something I missed. chances are if you get chicken nuggets, at least here in America its either frozen food or fast food. How many people do you know cut up strips of chicken and make them into chicken nuggets? Most people, if they are going to cook chicken will make it into something better. Like home made fried chicken.
  3. Ouch, guess I talked to big. Still, should not insult it just because you view it as unethical. Especially when according to you it isn't efficient. Its only a game, don't get your panties in a twist over a gold making method.
  4. That's the thing, I don't care for Battlefield. Its a solid FPS in its own right but this is a CoD game.
  5. :| Umm, isn't core normal stats and hardcore a more or less realistic mode? @Insanity I know, I believe I pointed that out in my first post.
  6. Is this a joke thread? Because if you would seriously do this for an Honor's English course you have no taste and .... WAIT A MINUTE. This is a joke thread, since when would honor's English having you do what Drama has you do. I fell for it. :wall:
  7. How is that a bad thing. If MMO players would get off there thrones and experiment with other MMO's so as to find out what they are talking about we would see some radically different suggestions. The reason that Runescape could be said it is better then these standard MMO's is because its A.) Sandbox and B.) Amazing Quests. But you can never say without lying that Runescape's combat is better or even near on par with other 3D combat driven MMO's.
  8. Wait, when did IW say they were going to make a game yearly?(Unless I misread) It's been there stance that they don't want to be rushed into making games yearly.(Hence why the Big Red One and World at War are by Treyarch) And every two years is not a long time, you never get a good thing by rushing it. I remember reading an article where one of the underdog companies still owned by a corporation stated that if it weren't for deadlines and the fact that they were rushed out for a holiday season or something they would spend months on it still polishing the game. Random tangent aside, I'm glad you feel the same way about tanks. If a company can pull it off more power to them. I'll always take the stance that even though I don't like something, as long as it has no effects on me personally I will support you when I see fit. That said I wouldn't like to see a company necessarily do that as we've seen games before that have tried to separate the marriage of two gameplay types and it usually ends up with one being inferior to the other or both being inferior when one should of been concentrated on. @Insanity The game itself may not be done but the core gameplay more then likely is. The game is only several months off. And the reason we bash it is because we either feel we wouldn't like it or have had bad past experiences with vehicles. For FPS I don't mind them enhancing single player with it, but when you have it mucking around in multi player that turns me off.
  9. Be glad there is a fee, you never got anything good for free.(Or in the very least its rare and probably comes with a catch) That said this intrigue's me. First point is the creation of epic amounts of loot. Anyone here remember Borderlands for the consoles? That game only has around 1,000,000 weapon combination and I about jizzed myself. Now the only thing is if medieval weapons can be customized enough to give the feel of a modified AK with a 50 round drum that fires explosive shots and little to no recoil. If it can this will be amazing.(Edit Here, ties in with my later ideas below) Now, when I first started reading I was a bit skeptical about the no levels.(Think Guild Wars) Then I watched the youtube video and started thinking of FPS melee ala Counter Strike with RPG skills and I got excited. Imagine taking on these while in the first person and having half your team having to defend the zealots who are desperately trying to defend there deity. Even simple combat sounds amazing as the first person aspect should bring on some nice adrenaline rushes in good fights. The mounts also sound interesting. In WoW one of the [cabbage]tiest aspects I remember was that I had this bad [wagon] mount and more or less I could do nothing with it, not even swim with it.(Pre patch 3.1) So this should be interesting. Especially when you think about Guilds actually getting mounts enough to kill a town and still house a building.(Mumakil) Which brings me to another thought, I like the idea of true sandbox at the start that evolves into a player run world. If this is successful(Like half of WoW's subscribers at least semi active) we could see player established hierarchy. What I mean by this is that the first players through the door will evolve and build into a group, and eventually build there own player run town. Several years down the line this will be its own city and to the new players it would be venerated and respected. True sandbox dreams right here. One thing I hope is that the weapons and gear make up for lack of levels. I'll be honest one of the joys I get from MMO's is the climb through levels only to get to a plateau and be elevated to the next level through whatever bonus you got. Now that I think about it I think this is the way they plan to go. Not only does it set up the reward but because you always have the chance to be killed it sets up the honor of being able to don the enemies gear. To go back to my player run city idea how cool would it be to have an ambitious newbie sneak in and assassinate the king that has been running it since beta only to walk out into the crowd wearing the king's armor and having his head on a pike. I can truly say this is a MMO I'm excited to hear about and hope it succeeds my expectations.
  10. Noob does not really matter to me, I hardly need to crack a dictionary open as it is. But if it becomes socially acceptable to use "u" instead of you I will flip my [cabbage]. I will flip it hard. Then again I haven't really seen anyone use the word "u" among my friends and elders in a couple years, even in text messages and IM's.
  11. Crummy for finding a efficient way to make money in a game? You guys have some weird sense of honor.
  12. Oo, goodie. I get to rant about vehicles in Modern Warfare 2. Alright, here is the deal. Some games have 256 players simultaneously, others have Vehicles, CoD should NOT have this. I love the 1on1 combat and the small maps. As soon as you introduce vehicles maps are huge and combat is all about who gets that tank first. Or an RPG one hits it, and then you just have big maps with useless vehicles. Prime example here is Halo, that game is freakin awesome on small maps. Remember the Halo 2 map, the ice one? The one that was not even in normal online and unless you got a vehicle, spent the next 5 minutes looking for a frag. That's why, us CoD players love the 1 on 1 we get and would not want to see that traded for [cabbage]ty vehicles, hell even good vehicles I'll pass.(That's not to say it shouldn't be in single player) P.S. This game isn't CoD6. Its Modern Warfare 2, Activision gave the reigns over to Infinity Ward because they were tired of being associated with Treyarch's games and Activision's "one CoD game a year plix".
  13. ... :wall: Damn Gorgoth you sure showed him, one and a half years and nothing but a few blackmarks and a mute. Guess I suck with my 5 years across 10 accounts and not a single black mark period. The best argument I will muster is that if in every civilized country people can appeal decisions and get re-trials, why can't we in Runescape.(Which last I checked is a freakin video Game) You Sir, go overboard.
  14. Near the beginning of Doom 3 you enter this room only to have it turn dark red, hear a sinister laugh, and see what I can only imagine is a demon's excretions oozing down the wall. Creepiest. Room. Ever. Resident Evil 4's dog maze gave me the chills the first time I ran through it, still does just to a lesser extent. As for jaw dropping o shi--- moments I would have to say CoD4's nuke scenes, both of them. For some reason those scenes chilled me. Edit - Oh, I definitely forgot about the Resident Evil 4 hospital level, my first play through I couldn't get through it. Heh, I was such a wuss.
  15. Invest it, find ways to turn that 21m into 210m. That's not to say you shouldn't use it, just make sure you invest and never drop below a certain threshold again. :)
  16. Well that would be all fine and well if that's how people actually viewed the cheaper alternatives. As it is now it's better to spend the extra hour making money and buy a scimitar or two hand over buying a short sword or mace. And this can not really change because unless runite bars drop in price, a dagger is always going to be more expensive then it probably should be. So the better option is to balance them to make them all viable and useful. The big item mentioned, and probably continually mentioned, is the Warhammer and for good reason. If it were changed to be able to counter plate wearers more effectively it would at least give the hammer use.
  17. =D> Good job, all you've done is contributed nothing to this thread. Well that's a tad off, you did contribute that mage is expensive to train and increased the page size unnecessarily with your quotes. If you're going to post in Suggestions at least have the decency to make it actually a suggestion and not a rant. Edit - The reason I point this out is because it this thread addresses a serious issue, combat(melee and range formally, mage somewhat informally) is not only dull but its getting to the point where damage is not in sync with defense, thus causing the one and two shots people can pull off.
  18. Various Mindless Self Indulgence songs. I'd link to some but they aren't the most "clean" lyric'd band out there.
  19. There are some really low self esteems in here. If people ask tell them yes, if they try and insult you for it tell them "**** you". Its all about portraying self confidence, that's the key to High School.
  20. Why is everyone spazzing out. If you read it explicitly says that they will be reviewing some cases, not including bug abuse and hijacking. So this means the guy who PKed in Falador won't be coming back, or the guy who got 2200 total through a bug. Reading isn't bad all the time ya know. -.-
  21. I'll state right now, my vote is a emphatic yes. The reason being has already been stated though, 99hp is just not enough to effectively survive the increased damage we see and will continue seeing. Now, to stick with just 99hp can be dealt with in two ways, one is completely revamping combat which would be the most significant change but would also lead to more depth in-game. That's a major overhaul and we will more then likely not see it for years if ever. Now the other change is making the defense formula change. Rather then having defense just reduce the chance of being hit it should reduce damage as well. This is the more sensible approach and it will make defense actually viable in terms of PvP pures. For example, and remember this is theorycraft numbers, whips at max strength now hit for about 40-50 damage against rune. If the formula changed rune would reduce that to about 30-40, and torags to about 20-30. This would give much more meaning to bringing more expensive armor and would actually give the torag user a hefty increase over the rune user. The one change that should definitely not be relied upon for this discussion is more high end armor. Reason being is that no one is ever going to really bother using it over rune because chances are its going to be incredibly hard to obtain and the risk won't be worth the reward. Now obviously this can be negated by having smithing able to produce something like titanium armor for about 2-400k more then rune, but from Jagex's track record of releasing end-game items I doubt we will see that. And to address the direct question of increasing the HP buffer I doubt we will see it work like that. Instead we will see items give HP bonuses. For example rune platelegs would give +5 hp, Rune chest +10 hp, rune full helm +5hp, ect. Which would again bring about higher level armor being better(Torag chest giving +25 hp for example) and making the risk worth it in a sense. TL;DR I'm not going to give you one, too much said to make it short. :)
  22. Something definitely needs to be done about combat in Runescape. Currently the only combat that is not attack and wait is magic, and even that is limited to if you need to cast more then your auto cast spell. Now that does not mean Runescape combat is bad it just means its not as fleshed out as it could be. Another reason this needs to be added is that I find as I'm running through slayer assignments or other forms of combat grinding I zone out and get lethargic. That's not to say this change is as easy as adding abilities, because it is not. As mentioned earlier combat is already getting to the point where you can one, two, or three shot someone with nice rolls. So what I propose is that Jagex goes and for Runescapes next big update overhauls combat COMPLETELY. If say Dharok's at redbarred were to only do 45 damage and when augmented with skills up to around 70 damage combat would not only be less about clicking and just waiting for the other to drop(between keeping HP/stats up and occasionally delving into other combat areas) but remove the occurrence of one/two shotting. The purpose of this suggestion is not to **** up an established game mechanic but to add depth to an already amazing game.
  23. I disagree, this article took a very common topic and answered it effectively. Everything has a purpose. It may not be a "saving the world" purpose, but there is a purpose behind it none the less. Such as feeding your mother. It may not seem to have much purpose, as she can get her own food and will get hungry again anyways. The purpose of Runescape is to have fun and enjoy escaping the constraints and responsibilities of real life.
  24. If I ever have the pleasure of meeting you or someone with the same attitude I'll make sure I fight whatever you are fighting. :) Well, if you "steal" "my" monster you're screwing over yourself as well, so bring it on. No, I would just annoy you at the very least. And you would have no way to complain about it without making yourself look like a hypocrite. Sometime safe spots + the spawning area just don't allow LoS for safe maging/ranging. If said person is already fighting the same steel dragon that NoMoreDead was fighting chances are he is just going to go after the next dragon Dead chooses to fight.
