22-Mar-2010 - Fish Flingers
I got my first Master Angler medal just now. I just need to start writing down the combinations so I can go back to the heaviest fishes at the end.

If you look again you will clearly see the 200,000,000 mark is just before level 126 (the column labeled Intermediate), not level 149-150. You are misplacing your commas. I admit I could have formatted that a little better. The Level label is a bit misleading; as the XP matches to the points for the next level (i.e., 83 gets you to 2, 13034431 gets you to 99) I didn't come up with the formula, but it matches every level from 1-99; I have no reason to believe it's different above 99.

22-Mar-2010 - Fish Flingers
I have been trying for the different 100% combinations on my own, not in a cc. I can almost always get 3 and get 1 medal. I especially like the predictability of starting times and the limit of plays per week. Jagex did a lot of things right with this D&D. Looks like this is just the thing to kick start me to 99.

Sweeping generalizations like this are far more intolerant than thoughtful dissent. I stand behind every comment I made.

I've seen the formula online somewhere (a long time ago) and put it in my omnibus spreadsheet. I put it on Rapidshare if you want to look at it (MD5: CB979BDEA574A8CA91BE18C318318122).

Shattered Heart, which put many people with 99s in the position of refilling freed bank space for rock skilling. On a positive and unrelated note, I think the Fishing Guild makeover was well done. It makes me hopeful that the Mining Guild might actually improve someday.

Willow Prices
Cheap (8gp) willows means you can buy 99 fletching for just over 3 million gp, or 99 firemaking for just over 1.1 million. Things surely have changed.

I have nothing to say about article #1 that I haven't already said in the Shattered Heart thread here. I couldn't disagree more vehemently with article #2. It was Beowulf who killed Grendel - not Beowulf & Eye1HitU in a team effort. It was Hercules who cleaned the Augean stables - not Hercules, Sparkles129 & FumbDuck. I could throw out other literary examples... but the point is it's a singular hero that takes on the task & gets the glory. That's what we remember & glorify. That's what I expect from my MMO. More quests where you have to work in pairs or trios or more would drive me to canceling my subscription.

The way it should be: You finish the Varrock Statue for the 30th time. It finally sticks together, yet you notice it seems to be slightly incomplete. The pet rock in your inventory begins vibrating wildly. On a hunch, you add it to the Varrock Statue. Dahmaroc comes to life and steps off the plinth, in a moment straight out of Greek mythology. He goes off to live his newfound life, leaving the Varrock museum with an empty plinth and you with a completed replica. You sell them your replica for a goodly sum of money, and get to build your own copy again for 30 more weeks. I get a mention in the Knowledge Base for inspiring the final reward. =D>

Shattered Heart Discussion
Well, now I can stop retraining all my old 99s just for replica rocks. Not worth the effort. And I don't need more XP in my 99s, thank you very much. I can also free up all this skiller junk I had to restock again and get my bank space back. I'm glad they are being upfront about this now. If it got to week 29 or 30 and they released this info, I'd pop a vein.

This is indeed effective. You get a chance EACH time you pick a herb / flower / veggie. I personally just add sweetcorn / strawberries / watermelons to my farmruns if I need the rocks. Don't do cabbage (can't note that!). If you have white lilies planted, everything is protected anyway. I tried the tater route for a while - I would go to Ardy and steal enough seeds for a run and then plant them in all the allotments. And I would do this again and again and again, without getting a stone. Guams & taters. I finally just broke down and bought watermelon seeds. Now I am getting my stones much more quickly. I think there is some other modifier besides just harvesting that Jagex is not being forthright about.

Cannoning Dust devils
You should have no problem figuring out "behind the stalagmites" in the first big room.
-
Cannoning Dust devils
You bet your sweet bippy you can. There's a notorious safespot behind stalagmites in the first big room. Placing the cannon where it doesn't shoot off into the northern passages (where you can't see the devils die) is the key to success. I farmed charms here a lot while I was training 99 range. But it's only if you've got money to blow; you won't come close to breaking even on drops.

Waterfiends
The dragon baxe is worth a look. Buy a cheap one on the GE & try it. But do remember to select the crush style after you wield it - it doesn't default to that style. I personally love using the weapon special to jack up my strength without pots. You also get to equip a shield with a one-handed weapon like the dragon baxe. If it doesn't work for you, what have you lost, 120K? I'd even loan you one if you wanted to try this on the cheap. Wear hides & pray range, as has been suggested.

Gold Bars...
Save them and use them weekly as needed for your crafting stones. That puts off your final decision for 25+ weeks.

15-Mar-10 Lumbridge Catacombs & The Blood Pact
- From the Shattered Heart KB page: Agility: Brimhaven Agility Arena (one chance per 10 tickets) I read that as saying you can't just hop the low wall anymore. They did explicitly add Ape Atoll course.

Shattered Heart Discussion
I write this as I am currently in Hunter Hell, trying to get that last stone (and have been for hours). They need to set some XP threshold which, upon reaching, if you don't already have your 2nd rock, it will drop. 50k? 100k? I've caught hundreds of dark /spotted / dashing kebbits, netted a couple hundred swamp lizards, boxed a couple hundred imps... This fricken replica statue had better be worth it...

12-Mar-2010 - Bonus XP Weekend!
They should give some special attention to Prayer if they ever do this again. Bonus weekend shouldn't give less XP than extant methods.

Tip.it Times 14 March 2010
Oh yeah, and they should add Dragon Satchels to Creature Creation also. #-o I look at any dragon additions as purely for the compulsive collectors who insist there must be a dragon everything. Why do we need more midrange items?

looking for a 90+ smither.
I am 99 Smith, and I am almost always skulking around Varrock at GMT 0 for battlestaves. Message me and I will assist.

12-Mar-2010 - Bonus XP Weekend!
Actually, yes it does. It goes from 0:00 to 24:00? Oh well, nevermind this discussion, my fault idc. On Windows XP, it's configurable in the Control Panel --> Regional & Language Option. You can have your time formatted either way.

FWIW, I was able to complete the Varrock statue today at GMT 0, right after I bought today's battlestaves. The replica piece I received matched the one I already had.

Last Minute XP Weekend Preparations
I did relent and actually spend some money: 500 Unicorn Horns @ 3490 = 1,7450,000 (for the 477 charms I already had in the bank) 1000 Swamp Toads @ 361 = 361,000 (for the 450 charms I already had in the bank) Went and got my own swamp lizards (for the 617 charms I already had in the bank). Already had enough water talismans for my blues. I also bought 250,000 shards, but that's at store price & I'd have spent it anyway - weekend or not. So I guess I got profiteered on the horns. I have about 1600 pouches to make, then it's off to Dorgesh-Kaan.
