  1. Only if the developers break the conditions of the court ruling. But they will have to pay for Jagex side of the legal fees plus any damages. I bet its easily wiped out any profit they ever made and probably more. I don't doubt that ;) I just wanted to make sure that this won't be misunderstood There is significant money changing hands, though... enough to justify a lien on the Snellmans house. When you place a lien on real estate, you arent talking about chump change.
  2. Thats a rather interesting and gratifying mea culpa letter. But its more than that - they are cooperating w/Jagex re: script writers for iBOT. I imagine there are a lot of teenaged sphincters tightening over that. I am looking forward to hearing from some of our self-proclaimed legal experts... the ones who insisted Jagex had no grounds in this case.

  4. It wouldnt surprise me either, but thats definitely not how they got mine. FWIW, I get 5 to 10 of these emails a week. I forward them to Jagex and they take it from there. For most people, its probably not worth the risk of even opening the emails, because most of these emails have graphics in them. The bad guys can then check their logs to see which IPs accessed their graphics and use that information for nefarious purposes.
  5. Westinghouse Digital is perhaps better known in the USA. I know Costco and Best Buy carry their goods. They are not a fly-by-night outfit, but they have fallen on tough times lately. There are actually some reviews for the model in question on Newegg: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16889234006 and there is a 4-egg Westinghouse TV on NewEgg right now: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16889234048 ===== Warranty info: http://westinghousedigital.com/support/warranty/ though it looks like the SK-19H210S was sold in 2007-8, so I imagine that has expired. Most everything I am seeing on Newegg has a 1 year warranty, sadly. I would lean towards anything that had a 2 or 3 year warranty.

  7. That would make the other half of the idiot posters members. I guess its time to shut down RSOF.

Registry cleaners are a lot like codec packs - they can sometimes work and other times cause more problems than they solve.
  11. Just out of curiosity, are you trying to install the English version of the pack or the Spanish version?
  12. Some sites I am checking say it will take well over an hour. 14. Well, Google will be spoofing you too: http://googlewebmastercentral.blogspot.com/2011/12/introducing-smartphone-googlebot-mobile.html So despite your claims to the contrary, Google could be accessing your mobile pages. And if the URLs are the same, that would be problematic. If you don’t serve the mobile version to Googlebot-Mobile, aren’t you going to be considered as cloaking? (http://www.webperformancetoday.com/2011/11/03/matt-cutts-cloaking-web-content-optimization-wco/)

Back to the drawing board. I am spending my anticipated Xmas money on one of these: http://www.bing.com/shopping/asus-vh238h-lcd-display-tft-23/p/6550AE74C8F7C6CC0001?q=ASUS+VH238H&lpq=ASUS%20VH238H&FORM=HURE I have never owned an ASUS monitor, but I do use one of their mobos and their service is impeccable. That track record, combined with the reviews I read on both Amazon & NewEgg, make me feel very good about purchasing it. It has DVI-D, HDMI and D-sub connectors, HDCP support and a 3-year warranty. It’s not the best monitor out there, but it’s pretty darned good for under $200. This one has speakers. You can probably find a version that doesn’t have them if you want to shave a few more bucks. ASUS has a long list of rebates in effect for December, too: http://g-ecx.images-amazon.com/images/G/01/00/00/17/91/81/31/1791813130._V161834979_.pdf
  16. You are missing my point, which has nothing at all to do with the complexity of any of the sites: None of these content providers block out desktop browsers. No I'm not. Yes you are, and you are still too stubborn to admit it. Once again, just for you: None of these content providers block out desktop browsers. Regardless of your obfustactions and ramblings to the contrary, this was my point. Get a freaking clue.
  17. You can get the SP3 upgrade directly from Microsoft as well: http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?displaylang=en&id=24&fb_source=message And to be honest, 4 GB of memory will do wonders for your XP machine.

  19. That, right there, is yet one more reason to have access to Tip.It's Mobile Version on desktop systems. Older systems won't be stressed out by the Mobile version, where they would be stressed out by the desktop version. Thanks for making a note of that. :D FWIW, many reputable commercial companies let their mobile sites load on desktop browsers. There is more than one type of website you know, like if you would look at your own list you would notice that every single one of those are retail or dining websites, which for obvious reasons have very limited content on each page, when Rune tips is focused on the guides that we provide, which are not particularly compatible with mobile viewing and are created with desktop users in mind which leads to the mobile version being restricted to the Databases for technical and practical reasons. As a result the way most users navigate the site would result in a very disjointed visual appearence as the page switches between the mobile and desktop layouts. Between the inconsistent display issues and the increase of the demand on the coding staff to maintain the mobile version and the several easy ways to access the mobile site from a desktop browser, I personally do not see official support being added for accessing runetips mobile from desktop browsers. (This is my personal opinion, The staff in charge of coding the redesign could very well have another opinion) ONYD Yahoo!: http://m.yahoo.com/ CNN: http://m.cnn.com ESPN: http://m.espn.go.com Wikipedia: http://m.wikipedia.org The Sun: http://thesun.mobi/ Le Monde: http://mobile.lemonde.fr/ Reddit: http://m.reddit.com FARK: http://m.fark.com/ Facebook: http://m.facebook.com/ Myspace: http://m.myspace.com
  20. Just to be clear: I am not suggesting that you guys develop a full-fledged mobile site. I am just questioning the rationale of refusing to serve any mobile features you have already developed to desktop browsers.
  21. To be honest, I'd urge anyone still on XP to move to 7 ASAP. I mean, seriously? A 10 year old OS who's last update was 3 years ago? That just screams insecurity and outdatedness.. If that were true, it would scream insecurity and outdatedness. But its not true, and it doesnt. Windows XP still gets regular security updates and will for more than two years into the future. The end of extended support date for XP SP3 is in April, 2014. ref: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows/products/lifecycle If you actually read the table Main stream support ended in 09 It's extended support that runs til 14 And in the questions underneath (whats the difference) "Please note: Extended support is only available for commercial customers." So unless you happen to be a school or a business or some other kind of institute that is commercial customer, opposed to a personal customer, support has ended. I have XP SP3 and I get securtity updates on Patch Tuesdays along with the rest of the XP SP3 users. I am a private individual, not a business. Please stop spreading misinformation.
