It may be sexist, but in certain circumstances that sexism is necessary. I am not saying that the circumstances cited above were examples. In fact some were particularly bad - women have a proven track record of being effective police officers. My example would be one in which the people you'd be working with would understandably feel uncomfortable with someone of that sex - for example a male rape counsellor for women.
  2. Advice: do the checks it tells you to.
  3. I'm interested in them in the same way a virologist is interested in viruses.
  4. Ha! They don't swing from trees, the fastest they can move is 15 feet per minute (0.17 miles per hour) which totally precludes swinging.
  5. Like pretty much all other forums that allow teenagers to join.
  6. Corporations can't be trusted to regulate themselves. Their sole purpose is to generate revenue and they will only do something 'moral' if they think it will make them money indirectly, by improving their image (and Sony has proven that companies will do very immoral things to make a fast buck).
  7. And so an elephant walking off a cliff counts as jumping. Of course falling doesn't count as jumping, then a worm could jump, as could a rock. Jumping is making yourself airborne on level ground.
  8. No. But I think the whole concept is fascinating. I know the guy behind Aphex Twin is one. I also wonder if psychedelic drugs can simulate synaesthesia.
  9. I don't really like them compared to the early Mario games, I feel a lot less in control of Sonic. However, my favourite is either Sonic 1 or 2. My favourite part was the vs. mode on Sonic 1, I used to play it on a black & white TV on my Master System again my brother.
  10. Nostradamus didn't predict those things. He made some predictions that modern people have adapted to fit modern occurrences. Initially he said the antichrist was some Ayatollah, but when that guy died the new edition of the book on Nostradamus named Saddam Hussein. People manipulate the predictions to fit current issues then manipulate them again when they are shown to be wrong. It is all bunk. Humbug. Woowoo. Claptrap.
  11. With that example that you just gave, was that how it looked in English? In which case the 'prediction' was surely a result of the translator's writing and not those writing the original material. Would you care to translate this?

  13. Dan Brown is a fiction writer. These idiots are trying to pass this off as real.
  14. I'm not sure you get this: After they all happened.
  15. Not true. People should check their facts first.
  16. I am interested to know why you chose the title "Accept it or not, it's still amazing" since it isn't amazing in the slightest if you don't believe it.
  17. 1) It's GB standing for gigabyte. 2) Google a program called spacemonger. It will show you where your space is going.
  18. If it predicted them, why didn't it get publicised and the disasters averted? Answer: because it didn't.
  19. I'd like to see a worm try. Not true.
  20. 1. What is the goriest game you have ever played, why? Soldier of Fortune 2. It is the goriest because of the level of damage one can do to enemies. You can kill them by shooting off both legs before they hit the ground, then you can shoot off the arms once they are dead, then crouch over the face and gradually cave it in by hacking at it with a knife. It's important to emphasise that blood spurts from the stumps, you see the jagged edges of the shattered skull and there are several stages before the face is completely caved in. 2. What was your first gory game, how old were you Doom. 9 or so. 3. What do you think when you experience gore in a video game It adds to realism, and consequently makes the game more satisfying. That is, gore as a result of my violent actions. 4. Do you shy away from gory games? No, I seek them out. I always think that FPS games would be better with dismemberment. 5. Have you ever stopped playing a game due to its gory content? No. 6. In general do you find gory video games better than non gory ones? That's a bad question. There are plenty of excellent games that have no violence, let alone gore in them and there are plenty of excellent games that do have gore in them. You should probably enquire as to people's ages. I'm 21.
  21. Yes, because you forgot the brick in the sack.
  22. Except it isn't tip.it that is giving out the information, it is the users.
  23. As I posted on the other thread (but I think it warrants mentioning again), the 'humane' conditions that nearly 2/3rds of the animals they 'rescued' in 2002 lived in was an incinerator for carcasses.
