  1. Those of us that were alive in the 80's no doubt have a favourite cheesy film from that era (by god there were plenty to choose from) - we know they are not necessarily good films, but we love them anyway because they hold a certain nostalgia. What is yours and why? I have three favourites from that time: The Goonies - "Dead things, Mikey, dead things!" To date, this is the film with the most magical atmosphere I have seen. It is a true adventure, I couldn't think of any way to make it better. It's a bit hard to put how much I love this film into words because much of it is centred around its position in my childhood. The Truffle Shuffle. The word to sum this film up for me is 'magical'. Flight of the Navigator - "Sit down, navigator" Another true adventure with atmosphere aplenty. I like it because of how cool it would be to fly a space ship like Max that could transform and so on. The intimidating setting at NASA seems to make it so much better when he gets away, and it's kind of funny to see a young Sarah Jessica Parker in full 80's-hair mode. Big Trouble in Little China - "It's all in the reflexes" Lo Pan is the ultimate villain. Half man, half ghost - he is a true badass. Again, another excellent adventure which takes the characters through all manner of different settings. The music for it is really memorable, too - and there's also an easter egg reference to the film in World of Warcraft - you can get a trinket called a 'Six Demon Bag'.

  3. I wouldn't change the name of halo, because it wouldn't make much sense to me if you changed it to that. Halo is definently better name than what you suggested. ----His comment----> (Your head)

If you don't say the USA then you are a commie.
  5. I think it's hilarious to see some portrayals of Jesus. My fianc̮̩̉̉e's family had one in their last house where he was downright aryan. Doll-white skin with rosy cheeks. [Edit] Stupid censor. It censors the word aryan to 'hack-scam site' even when it isn't part of a URL...
  6. Any game where the title takes the format: Something: The Something. OVERDONE.
  7. I'd increase my boredom threshold.
  8. Her is a him. You should know how the internet works by now.
  9. You stole it. It had a bad influence on you before you even had it.
  10. Probably Deus Ex for me. It was one of the first open-ended mission games that I'd played but the main reason I hold it in such high esteem is because it had the most atmosphere of any game I'd ever seen.
  11. It probably isn't a good idea to get a DirectX 9 card when DirectX 10 is just around the corner.
  12. I'm told that she actually got off lightly - in some places rape victims get sentenced to death. The same goes for children who are victims of sexual abuse - since the age of consent under sharia law is nine.
  13. Where's that article from? I want to quote it somewhere else.

I think it's funny how some people even entertain the possibility that it's true. Then again, some people think that aliens came to this planet in aeroplanes and their ghosts infest us to this day.
  15. Tycoon game tycoon.

I think so too. Given that plenty of people give a pint of blood but don't faint. The average adult has 5 litres of blood, or 8 pints.
  17. My dad taught me most of what I know about computers. When I was younger he was a programmer, using Fortran for mainframe programming and COBOL for other stuff. I'd say I've now superseded him on more modern computing issues like graphics and modern networks, but he still knows more about lower level stuff than me (things that one doesn't often tinker with nowadays but were prominent a while ago - like IRQs, batch files and so on). My mum, on the other hand, is not computer-savvy at all. We got her a Mac so she wouldn't balls it up.
  18. Clearwire will have lower latency than satellite since it is based on IEEE 802.16. It uses mobile phone masts which are terrestrial, not orbital so the signals have far less distance to travel.
  19. Birmingham - the accent. Liverpool - the accent. China - the oppression. The USA - the religious right.

If you're serious about this, please back it up with some evidence that shouting at a child for disciplinary purposes gives them lasting mental damage.
  21. Scamander Though I now have Summoner's Blade and some other blue offhand thing, and a riding crop.
  22. Winestripe. It just makes it look like classic firefox, <2.0.
  23. It would be +409.2% -- 310 * 1.10 (riding crop) = 341 * 1.20 (paladin aura) = 409.2. Mine's currently at +308% with riding crop, and it is stupidly fast - faster than a normal gryphonmaster one, which is +300%. I was flying along south of Eclipsion Point in Shadowmoon, it looked clear. I stopped and I was actually inside a Crazed Colossus 70 elite that hadn't loaded yet - it just popped up when I stopped. This happens all the time, NPCs appear after a good 10 seconds after you get there, same goes for party members and mobs. I also almost outran a fel canon's blast before.
  24. And with the riding crop, which I'll get when my auctions sell, it goes at at least +308%, which should be faster than the gryphonmaster (which I seem to remember is +300%).
