  1. I almost feel like betting 10 on a win for Germany. Spain can do more than what they've shown, but so far haven't been impressive at all.
  2. Argh! God damn Apple and it's [cabbage]ty iTunes! Too lazy and bored to think of any program that could convert mp3's, so i download iTunes. God damn long time, 15min for installing it's every app and then to uninstall every other useless app. Ok, i know Quicktime comes along, but it installs 3 other programs as well.. Argh! God damn annoying. (and no, my computer isn't a tractor) Will uninstall it as soon as my converting is finished.
  3. There's Crank 2:High Voltage (i believe it's called). Good with some beers! Myself, i haven't watched any movies lately. Been starting to follow Parenthood tho, but that's tv.
  4. Just so i'm understanding here, a straight couple doesn't get benefits while a gay one will? Or does the gay ones have to be married/civil union first to get this pay-raise? If it's just girlfriend-girlfriend and not married/civil union i find this very unequal and discriminating. E: Ah, now i found the translation for it. And i'm against it since it doesn't include heterosexual domestic partnerships.
  5. So much for equality. But it's a private company, so it's their choice. (and yes before someone bags me as homophobic again, i understand that in the end they get the same amount) And yet another gay thread lol. E: Didn't read the article close enough. No, this is not equal at all. "get married" - Maybe you don't want to get married? If i've understood this whole thing correctly, i don't like it one bit.
  6. And again, i'm not saying our energy politics have failed except for the cap&trade part. I'm not denying that emmisions have reduced, that's great. My point that i'm trying to get across, is that the fundamental part of cap&trade is lost when a company can sell it's unused bit. Personally i'm hoping for hydrogen fuel cells.
  7. Right, and that will happen until the caps are tightened. Europe's biggest problem was giving away too many of the permits in the initial stage. Sweden in particular, assuming you're from Sweden, started early in the 1990's with a carbon tax. And if you think it has failed, then I don't know what to say considering Scandinavian countries will be off of oil and coal before we know it. They'll also be reaping in the benefits when they're allowed to sell their permits to other countries that have been slower. Sweden outpaced the Kyoto Protocol with cutting carbon emissions by 9% between 1990 and 2006, and has been out-pacing everyone with renewable energies. [1] I'd call it a fantastic success. Still, with the ability to sell carbon permits off when they're totally off of fossil fuels, the carbon will move elsewhere until everyone hops on board with a carbon tax. Yes, i'm from Sweden. I'm not saying that our entire energy politics has failed. I'm simply stating the fact that cap&trade has failed here, since the companies are legally able to sell their caps to another company which may use them. And thus it doesn't work as intended. Now i'm going into a bit of local politics, but the fossile fuel need is still here and will be for a long time. There's not nearly enough gas stations were you can refuel on bio-fuel. And the red opposition have said that they will increase tax on petrol by 2kr (20 cent) atleast, which is mad. Even crazier when we are still in an economic recession and our fuel price is currently about 12.8kr á liter, and it would kill the country side since the green party seem to think that everyone live in a town and doesn't consider the yearly increase in cost for people living in the country side - where there's very bad bus connections. Let's hope they don't win in autumn.
  8. Emmisions trading has failed in my country. Companies that haven't used their caps til the max have sold it to other companies that have been able to utilize it.
  9. Oh my god, now i'm homophobic for questioning the value of having another thread about gay marriage? Ok this is about the UK, but i mean come on. I like how some people reason.
  10. Another gay marriage thread? Couldn't this have been posted in one of the many other threads?
  11. Interesting part, since that ended the Japanese involvement in WW2.
  12. Try telling that to the Perussuomalaiset or Sverige"demokraterna". :-P They are democratic.
  13. Yea, it was a great day. We really screamed our lungs out. It's a shame the day ended so bad; my best friend's parents house burned down, so after an hour the party-mood was kind of lost. Uhm, how? (pm if you don't wanna go OT)
  14. Hm, i wouldn't classify myself as patriot or nationalist. Technically i'm not 100% Swedish (German/Danish ancestors 100 years back). I would defend my country til death, if it was for the right cause. But i feel a bit iffy about Sweden, so much has changed for the worse since the 60/70's... But more rapidly since 2000. But that's going into politics, which belong in another thread or in pm. I can say that i won't be living here at 30, since i think the country is going in the drain. There's so much anti-Swedish going on this country that i've just completely lost hope to be honest, even our current head of state walks around saying "the only truly Swedish thing is barbaric" (source if you want).
  15. Hm. When i was like 14-15, i used to think "god damn crappy music". Nowadays i don't care, just listen to what you want. (fun answer!) I don't remember which one, but there is one Linkin Park track which i like, but that's about it.
  16. I think Germany will beat them.
  17. How2PK is probably having a couple of Heinekens now! Good ref too. Holland is probably in the final too (altho with this World Cup you don't know), since they'll meet Uruguay or Ghana.
  18. These types of idiots: A caviar commercial was reported by some stupid person to (i don't know if this is the correct word "commercial/advertise delegate", basically where all the idiots who feel discriminated sends a report to), and since the commercial depicts 3 Swedish/Nordic looking children (and no *foreign looking*). The person who reported said it is unethical (and more or less insinuates that it's racist too). The case was dismissed (thank god, you never know in this country any more). (translate tool needed) http://www.reklamombudsmannen.org/Uttalanden/Uttalande.aspx?page_id=495 I can't even begin with how much hope i've lost for this country, since these reports happens often (not long ago an ice cream was reported for being racist (a liquorice ice cream, but that was by some stupid ass organisation). But i'm really astonished that people really think this racially. I'm not really PC when it comes to immigration and that, but damn... Some of these people that calls everything racist (this word has lost it's meaning to me) must be quite racist themselves, if they spend this much time checking out how people look and what their skin colour is.
  19. Let's see, the parliament has a majority of women, and our president and prime minister are women. I still agree that it's not equal though, women still earn less. As long as there's no affirmative action, we're good.
  20. Linkin Park? Hehe. Nah, shoot!
  21. Which display mode are you using? Have you tried another? Did it happen just recently or has it happened before? Have you updated your graphics card driver? Could you post specs: Start - Run "dxdiag" and screenshot what it says on system (cross out computer name) and screen1. Also, if your cpu is low spec, you could try running on Chrome since is uses less resources than swiftkit which i believe uses IE (correct me if i'm wrong).
  22. Wiki says: "Avant-garde metal Folk metal Black metal Gothic metal Symphonic metal Classical music" Just calling it music ain't enough! Lol. Also, any Doro/Warlock fans here?
  23. Bovril or Marmite?
  24. I've used tobacco for many years, but how does nicotine, specifically, taste?
  25. Aha yes, i thougt it was a bit weird site. But the the document from the parliament is interesting. My beef with it, is to force people to live in a certain way. I don't have a problem with a house being pro eco and all that, but i don't like the idea of forcing. I would be interested in seeing if there were any other types of solutions to the design of such houses. I also wonder how they are gonna tackle upgrading the current houses, since not everyone can afford it.
