Aye, i understand you. Was on Newcastles side 'cause i used to play Unreal Tournament 2004 a couple of years at a server, and there was this guy from Middlesbrough who played there like 2 years, and in the last 6 months before he got banned he was (to say mildly) constantly rude. If my calculation is correct, your psu gives about 340w combined on the two 12v rails. Mine outputs 430. I suggest you add the 10$.

Topic has changed from prebuilt to DIY as before lol. Yes, that's right about the memory size. 1650x1050 (or whatever it is), goes perfectly fine with 512mb. When you get to higher resolutions, then you want 1gb or more. Also depends on the game, some games are more hungry than others. It's quite funny, they usually market low-end cards like 9400GT and HD4350 with 1gb memory (towards you're avarage Joe, who thinks more memory=faster). But such a card won't be able to utilize it, the bus is too slow (usually 64bit) and the memories are usually just DDR2. The Phenom 2 are in a great price-range. Your Intel comparison would be something like a Q6600 (+a bit of OC). But i wouldn't buy it. The P2 is faster in most applications than their respective Intel one. The i7 compared to it's C2Q counter part is *generally* *10-20%* faster (depends on what you test). To put it simple: New technology - faster =) Read some article about i7 to understand how it works. The cooler i posted isn't expensive, and it will keep your chip more chilled, better OC potential and lower noise. I thought this was for you friend...? I get the feeling it is for you lol. If you want some prebuilt options - just say.

Noobs!!! I'm drunk! Well ok let's see, today... I was into town and bought some beers, watched some premier league football (go Everton!), played some rs and then a friend came over... Had some beers, watched Trailer Park Boys then went into town. Met up with a friend that i hadn't haseen for 7montsh (he hasd been in his room all this time... I guess depressed a bit), i've known him since 3rd grade when i was like 10 or so. So it was real nice to see him being out and meeting him for some drinks. Hope to see more of him. Well what then... Went to this place called "Orange" met a guy a friend of a friend knows... Then we and some of his friends and mine walked to the burger place... He started to talk about going to this place where my friend has a summer "cottage" for some fishing and beers (not the guy i haven't seen for 7months)... I ordered some fries+water... Once again (dunno how many tiems we've talked about this) said we should go down to his place in our cars. Well what then... Went on the bus home.. Walked off a couple of early stops before my actual stop, started thinking about my ex... We've been talking about seeing eachother ever since we broke up to well.. See eachother and have some drinks, well anyways mailed her and said i'm willing to pay 50% of the train cost if she can pay the rest (believe me i don't want anyone else to pay for me, but it would be so fun to see her again - because otherwise it wouldn't be until autumn we could see eachother)... So hopefully, because i know she wants me to visit her... We can make a deal. Oh and, i played some black jack in the beginning of the evening. Bet 2 and ended up making 16 lol, pretty nice. Sadly we don't have a spare card and I use a laptop now. At this point I'm like 95% sure the card is pretty much dead so he is just gonna get a new one. Before he buys a new one, which brand is it? Because some Nvidia partners offers a long period of warranty (EVGA&BFG offers 10 years for example, Asus 3...), tho this requiers you to have registerd it within 30days after a buy by most partners. I think it's worth a shot before spending 150$ on a new card. I guess he or you could check the warranty at brand-x for his card, but i'd be happy to do so otherwise.

Quite a few on different forums have had to buy a new card since their G80 cards have died in the last months. Does he have a spare card laying around or you or someone could test your card in his computer?

Which C2D and cooler? Are you sure you have fasten it properly? Recheck the cooler and see if you just touch it a little bit - is it ridgid or does it move? Download core-temp and check your temps, don't know what program you're using. I'm too lazy to search around, but check around the net about your cooler/cpu and see what temps people are getting. With my E4500+stock speed+stock cooler i've been up to 72C in the summer. Changed the cooler and overclocked to 2.5ghz (tiny oc but i don't need more), i stress tested it a few times and never got above 47C (yes tj is set right).

Open up your case and see if it's a IDE or SATA connector, easiest way to do it (be grounded just for safety precautions). I'm hoping you know how to replace it? And yes, that's lightscribe, doesn't cost anything extra usually. And yes, the speeds are ok.

SATA or IDE connector? 22x is the speed of which it can write a dvd-disc for example. And get one with lightscribe if you can, always nice to have.
