Metal listeners THIS IS HOTT (Not a youtube video)
Sounds like a weird mix of HC/Grindcore. Nothing special and not something i like. A new band that is hot is Zonaria (hot.. höhö).

Will this motherboard and this RAM fit? (not real sure)
Lol, that cooler looks like a small engine. I advice on this instead: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6835608002 , really great cooler. Together with the Ultra 120 extreme, they are among the best. You can get a free socket 1366 bracket from Noctua if you email them to verify your purchase. So until you decide, i'll wait to reply on cases. I know you have the 8500gt, but i still argue that it's worth the 2month wait. I'd want someone else too, to tell you that you should wait. XP didn't get DX11 because (i think) it was very difficult to implement it (impossible due to the kernel?) and it would have halted sales of Vista greatly. It's supported until 2014. And 1440x900 with GTX280... Seriously? I got a damn 4670 and i play at that resolution, with AA/AS turned on various games (Assassins Creed e.g.) without a problem. A GTX280 for this resolution is just dumb. Waste of money honestly. If you had 1920x1080 or so, i would have understood, but at 1440x900 it's just a waste of money. 9800gt/4770 or 4850/9800gtx+ (gts250) would do the job as good for alot less money. I would perhaps get a Samsung F1 spinpoint instead, they seem to be liked. But WD is great too, should be good. Even tho i said i wasn't gonna advice on a case, i'd probably go for the Antec 900/2. Cosmos is great, but a bit more expensive. Good price on the psu for what you get! Sorry if i sound a bit like an [wagon], but i really must question your graphics card decision.

i think its time for a new laptop
Something like this, http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6834152107 Edit: Oh [cabbage], i forgot he mentioned CS. Nevermind the laptop i posted. Here's a few more relevant options: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6834115558 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6834152095 (9800m gt for this price is nice) Frenchie-Canadian@ Yeah, i have a problem with them too on mobo/gpu side since they got a bit of a reputation on choosing less good components. But the laptop i posted just now i still very price-worthy.

Graphics card destroyed + strange issues
Ffs, i hate the fools (both in electronic stores and forums) who claim you need a 500w psu for a card like low-mid card. Every card without a pic-e connector draw 75w or less, as that's the maximum you can get from the pci-e slot. I run my 8600gt in my moms packard bell with a 250w psu (which gives effectively about 160w), this card draws 43w. You don't need a 300w psu for a 8400gs. I know people who run an 8800gt on a (quality) 300w psu. No need for a new psu for the cards you are considering.

Those generally come later in the process. This first round is used to find those who are interested and suitable based on forum history. Aha alright, thanks for the answer. Was just wondering 'cause it's been in public posts before.

Nike+
I'm surprised they didn't market this new collaboration as "iNike", since most "trendy" or new things seem to have an *i* in them.

Will this motherboard and this RAM fit? (not real sure)
I see. I was just guessing about the GTX280/5, since in my country they are around the same price so i just figured it's probably the same in other countries too. Well, graphically the difference between DX9 and 10 isn't big, but 10 is easier for devlopers to work with. And just because DX10 didn't hit big, doesn't mean DX11 will go down the same. DX11 will arrive in october... I would never in my life invest in a 250$ card with such a short while left, and DX11 will come to both Vista and Win7 - Which is another reason for DX10 not being big, it never came to XP for various reasons. But it's your money. Yes the ram is correct. And i hope you are getting an aftermarket cooler to the 920 (i'm guessing it's the one you'll buy) since it will constantly run at around 60-70c with load on stock cooler. Also, on which resolution will you play?

Graphics card destroyed + strange issues
You don't need to worry about your PSU until you go for a card like 4670 or 9600gs (depending on how good your psu is built and how many amps you can get out of the 12v rail/s). A card like 9400gt or 4350 doesn't draw more than maybe 20w in load. I run a 8600gt (43w) on my moms crappy packard bell machine. It also depends on how many amps you can get out of the 12v rails, manufacturers usually play a trick with consumers saying "400w!" and then you look at the specs and see that you could perhaps get 340w out of the 12v rails, as they usually tend to add 3.3v and 5v rails to the total wattage, which you basically never use anyway. Anyways, 9400gt or 4350 will be no problem for your psu. I'm assuming you got pci-e? That card is old, sometimes they just give up. If you get a card that draws more power than your psu can provide; a: It won't boot up, b: if it does boot, you are overloading it and the psu could overheat (possibly even catching fire), the most likely thing is the psu will go "good bye" and just giving up - resulting in you having to (in some cases) replace all your components, and the fuse may go aswell.

Will this motherboard and this RAM fit? (not real sure)
Sell me your Q66? You could easily overclock that cpu to 3.5ghz with some good air cooling. And i7 isn't really something you need for gaming... XMP just got a bit better timings generally. Psu will work fine... If you already got a gtx280 - ok, but if you're thinking of buying one right now... Don't. You can usually get gtx285 for the same money. And also the fact that DX11 cards will come (if all goes as planned) in october.

Windows Lagging problem
All i can tell you is that the voltage for your cpu is within the specified range. Changing the paste wont make any difference apart from a bit cooler cpu. I've had the same problem as you, but it tends do go away after a while and only occurrs a few times a year maybe. All your other temps and voltages are fine too. Let's see what perhaps Clare or Joedastudd or someone else got in store for you, just thought i'd drop this as a fast reply =P Nice mining lvl btw heh.

Don't you guys usually ask if people get the latest security updates, which OS and security programs (AV and firewall)?

A good build?
May i suggest you get a prebuilt? You pick a socket 775 motherboard while your cpu is socket AM2, you pick DDR3 pc12800 while your motherboard supports DDR2 from pc2 5300 to pc2 8500, you pick a soundcard that i've heard alot of trouble with the drivers and the fact that you need really good speakers to notice any difference and you have also picked a 32bit version of vista while you haven chosen a 1gb graphics card together with 4gb of ram. The build is very very incompatible. Hobgoblin: 150£ is a very good deal for the 4870. However, ATI will be the first to launch the new DX11 cards which will arrive in around october, so i would wait until then.

World cup 2010!
If England can get their [cabbage] together they are dangrous. But my vote goes to Germany. How is Argentina looking btw? I haven't heard much about them.

World cup 2010!
Sweden, but we lost 1-0 to Denmark yesterday. But we are against Malta on wednesday which we must win (and we should). I would rather see Rosenberg than Zlatan in the troup, he hasn't produced much in the national team. If we fail to qualify, my German percentage in me will be cheering for them. It will be intresting to see how England does.

It was an Intel processor I think, but certainly not a Pentium. Well, it was just a guess. Either an Xeon (unlikely), Pentium or a Celeron.

What's your Favorite computer?
Yep hehe. But AMD in my mind, has the best low&mid price range. Look at their new dual core they've launched: For 102$ you get; 3.1ghz, unlocked multiplier, 2mb l2 cache&6mb l3 cache, support for both AM2+ and AM3 platform aswell as DDR2/3. And the Phenom 2 x4 cpu's are really price worthy (we'll see how they stack up to I5 in autumn when full tests are possible). They've said that they won't compete in the high segment until 2011 (if i remember correct), and there's no point launching such a segment now anyways as that segment doesn't count for much of the income and with the financial crisis currently. Oh and, i finally switched mobiles lol. I bought Sony-Ericsson T220(i think?) in february 04 or so, and i switched mobile this week lol (got my sis Nokia 7600 for free (which she hasn't used much)). The sound gave up a week ago, but then came back... Then it was gone again lol. It's survived youghurt, tarmack, granite, water (dropping into) lol. I've had to the tape the back of it so the "hatch" doesn't fall off, and the screen aswell - it will otherwise fall off. Oh and Kaphias, i remember we had that mac:P

What's your Favorite computer?
Aha yes, i guess you have a Pentium cpu on that computer. The ghz on that cpu were bumped so high just because of the "mhz crazyness" and that the Intel techs didn't really bother about the data having to travel further - thus slower. Athlon XP cpus at much lower mhz performed same/better than the Pentium ones.

Just got new laptop; what to download?
If it's that gateway laptop you linked to on your other topic, why? It won't even run RS very good. I suppose if you want to keep it (i would return it and get a better one personally), use either windows firewall or download comodo. Spybot:Search&Destroy is a usefull compliment to the AV (however don't use the teatimer option). I would also recommend Auslogics disk-defragger (faster than the windows one), VLC (i can play basicially and media format you throw at it, with alot of options to adjust too), i would advice on CCleaner too (clean all temporary files and registry).

What movie(s) did you last see?
Well, was watching The World Is Not Enough yesterday while playing Football Manager. Hadn't seen it in a while, so it was quite refreshing. A good movie, i guess around 7-8/10. Tonight, after the Sweden - Denmark match, i think i'll watch Golden Eye - haven't watched it for 2 years or so. I really do prefer Pierce Brosnan as Bond instead of Craig - altho he is quite ok.

Help on what laptop to get...
First or third, depending on how good graphics you'd want on Sims 3 for example. First is better, but more expensive. And 8gb ram is unnecessary.
