  1. On the question about immigration: Sweden Why doesn't the government acknowledge the fact that our finacial minister has predicted that 12% (550k) in 2011 will be unemployed, yet, they don't have a problem with bringing in over 100k (2008) a year. It seems like it's a holy-shrine you can't touch. I'm getting god damn fed up with it. Every day they talk about unemployment, higher crime rates, too few apartments/houses for people to live in... Yet no one every says a single word about immigration. I have a quite long email that i wrote a couple of weeks ago, i can post it here if someone would want to read it.
  2. You know they've released 4 new Futurama movies + made new seasons of the films?
  3. Probably, but their minimum requirement for Win7 32bit is 1gb. Ram is so cheap now anyways, 1gb wouldn't cost you much.
  4. 2008: Pass my "leisure turism (don't got a better word for it in english)" test in june (wish me good luck), get my driving liscense by the end of this year, finish a couple of old classes in autumn (2) and if i get into a couple of classes at uni - do them aswell. Find a job aswell (but quite difficult). Hm, maybe get back into training aswell, i should loose some weight i think. 2009: Get into a uni somewhere in my country about computers (networking hopefully) and read German. 2011: Hopefully move to Germany (south of Frankfurt), continue studying networking (or another computer course)+job.
  5. Everton is doing good  I really look forward to the FA Cup final, would be so great if Everton won! The match against Man Utd was so awesome, hehe. I think Man Utd will win the premiership, but it would be cool if Liverpool could win. And, i'm not too surprised that Villa has been doing quite bad the last few weeks (ok, they won 1-0 yesterday against Hull... But anyways), they haven't rotated their squad very much... But still, they've really done a great season.
  6. Welcome to the world of Intel, stupid push-pins. When removing the old paste, use microfibre cloth (like the ones you use to clean your glasses), "ear tops" or a coffee-filter + chemically clean aceton/petrol, denatured alcohol etc etc... There's also a special branded liquid from Arctic Silver with two bottles to deal with removing paste. The important thing is not to use a liquid with oil in it. Follow link to the guide at AS which Peter provided.

  8. Does that mean I could just get the Windows 7 RC1 and use that instead of Vista on my new computer? By that I mean, download it on this computer, put it on a disk, and install it on my new computer, before I have installed Windows Vista on it (which I of course won't install then). Yep. It is very stable as it is a release-candidate, but you still have have possibility of blue-screen/crashes etc. But most who tried the beta seem to have found it really stable and not so many problems. I think Sbrideau (sp?) tried the beta, so you could probably check with him for more info. I haven't tried Win7. If you already have a valid Vista lisence, there's been talks of that you could get free upgrade to Win7 or reduced price.
  9. A little bump. "Microsoft says that Windows 7 Release Candidate 1 will get a public release on 5 May 2009. Microsoft has revealed that the first release candidate of Windows 7 will have a much longer lifespan than previous release candidates, and wont expire for over a year after its release. PC World reports that that Windows 7 RC1 wont expire until 1 June 2010, which will effectively give you 13 months to try out the OS for free." http://www.bit-tech.net/news/bits/2009/ ... released/1 --- Pretty nice of them i think. I only have one harddrive which means i'd have to safety-copy everything i got on my XP... (and no, can't dual boot, 40gb left). Maybe i'll try it out in a month or two. Just thought i'd let ya'll know.

Mostly a fan of beer, be it lager, stout or ale - i drink 'em all. Let me give you an advice - don't drink chinese beer! I've tried a couple of different ones, they are awful... They taste like water. I can enjoy a glass of whiskey or bourbon, but nothing i drink often. I also enjoy "sweet rum" (such as Malibu mango). I usually drink to get drunk.
  11. Spybot:S&D, Ad-aware (and Win defender i think too) don't need to be 24/7 active, rather you just do on demand scans. Having Comodo+Avira active, and the above programs in on-demand doesn't slow a machine down.
  12. Grats grats =) I'm a 4-time uncle lol (despite only being 21). I know my sis kids quite good, but i don't know my brothers kids at all... When i see my brother (once or twice a year), his kids (1 and 4 i think they are) are afraid of me lol. I still haven't had a call or a present from him congratulating me on my 21th bd (which was 7th feb)... Hehe it's fun, his kids will never know who i am.

  14. Was away for a while, anyways here's a list: Arctic silver 5 thermal paste - 4.50 Cooler: Don't use the Intel one. The Xigmatek is very price worthy for it's performance. If you want a few celsius more off, go for the Noctua. Xigmatek HDT-S1284C Achilles - 43 S1366 bracket for above cooler - 7.50 or Noctua NH-U12P - 69 For it's price, the Antec 300 is really good. If you want something better, expect to fork out atleast 30 more and upwards. Antec 300 - 53 Asus P6T Deluxe V2 iX58 - 257 Core i7 920 (2.66ghz) - 251 Samsung 1TB SATA300 32MB - 86 Point Of View Geforce GTX260 - 179 Samsung read/write dvd/cd, lightscribe - 24 OCZ 3x2gb PC10666 CL7 - 79 PSU: I would go for the be quiet! one here, it's a bit more expensive but you have room for upgrading. As this pc would only need to upgrade the gpu. And the motherboard supports both SLI and CF (2 way) in 2.0 x16 x16. Corsair HX620w modular - 108 be quiet! pro 750w modular - 140 Neither will have a problem running a CF/SLI setup, but you have a bit more room on the be quiet! one. The reason why i haven't taken anything better than GTX260 is because there will come fully compatible DX11 cards 3rd/4th quarter of this year. Total: 1092 (add 20 for the Noctua cooler, 1124 with the be quiet! psu). If you want a cheaper computer (still very good), just say.
  15. A store that sells computer parts =) I found the following ones from hardware.info, that had several and good reviews. http://www.4launch.nl/shop/ http://www.azerty.nl/ http://www.informatique.nl/ Anyone of them that you prefer?
  16. The prebuilt is not really price-worthy. Do you have some links to a couple of good computer-dealers in your country (the language isn't a problem for me to deal with)? And, even if you want to build a computer, do you know how to? Or do you know a friend or a relative that could do it? A computer store would charge about 40 for it. You've forgotten the most important part - the power supply, heh. And i guess you want a case too. I question the sound card, is it really necessary for you? On-board audio is very good, and you'd need very good speakers for a sound card to be something to buy (in my opinon atleast). HP seems to have some very good deals on their prebuilt-computers, to be honest. And from a computer-dealer, you can usually buy pre-mades too that they've put together, usually better price/performance than a company such a HP (altho they're good). There are alot of people here willing to help you, but it'd be easier for us if you decide first on a prebuilt or DIY.
  17. Ah alright. I did a quick check on wiki, and it said you can be refused to get a Visa if "has a criminal record or has criminal charges pending" (amongst other things). I guess, as you say, if you can get refused a Visa from crime-x, you can get kicked out too. But it doesn't seem to be practiced much.
  18. Nothing to add about BNP as i don't know much about them, but i wouldn't vote for them. 2 semi off-topic things: Apperently, the party in Sweden i'll vote for (SD) is flagged as red on WOT. I find if funny, as ND is flagged green lol. And a question, how is BNP's stance on immigrants who commit crimes? Do they say that after x sentences they shall be kicked out? I personally believe they should be (depending on how many times and what crime they've commited). There's a paragraph somewhere in the law book in my country which enables a judge to send an immigrant home if they've raped someone, but it's (basically) never practiced. Sorry for the semi-ot.
  19. Uh, please construct a sentence you could actually understand.
  20. 4 of the 6 modules i have here are Kingston, and they work wonderfully well. As always, it's what you as a person has experienced. Could be that the batch which the store orderd was bad. Don't know if you've had problems with their support or something aswell.
  21. If you can get a memory stick with a heatsink for not so much more than one without it - go for it, but make sure you have space for nearby capacitors, connectors, cpu-cooler etc. Low latency is what you want, the cpu will have to wait fewer ns on a CL5 memory than on a CL7. But then you also have to take in the speed of the memory. Example, on a Conroe platform, DDR2 800 CL5 is about 300mb/s slower than DDR2 1066 CL6. DDR2 800 CL3 is about 150mb/s slower than DDR2 1066 CL6 (Sandra 2007 synthetic benchmark). At the same time, it depends on what CPU you got. I mean, it would be a waste putting PC2 8500 memories on a cpu that i have for example (E4500) as it wouldn't be able to use it, no matter how much i'd overclock it. But say a Q9650 - it wouldn't be a waste. A few good brands: Corsair, OCZ, Kingston, Crucial, G.Skill, Mushkin. Also, to utilize 4gb ram you'll need a 64-bit OS (the graphic card will reserve it's memory space first). On a 32bit OS (Win) you could use PAE to utilize more than 3.5-ish, however, for that you need to use a server version instead. I'm not really good at explaining ram, as i'm not really intrested in how it works (nor do i feel like reading up on it so i know every detail).
  22. Nope, no real difference other than that. You can use pci-e x16 and pci-e x16 2.0 on both types of pci-e slots. Placing a 9800gtx+ in a pci-e x16 slot doesn't slow the card down, but when you get to a card like 4870x20 the x16 will slow it down a little bit, so in that case you want a 2.0 slot instead.
  23. I would like to add something to the guide on this quest. Before number 15, in the "required" i would want to see knife added. I for example didn't keep the knife when i went back into the cave after travelling the desert.
  24. Yep. You could build yourself a computer from scratch, which has good performance for around 400$. That, or an Xbox 360 i think is the most bang for the buck. Shame you ain't my neighbour lol, i've got a mobo that i don't use which is s775 (which your cpu uses) that i could sell for 10$ lol (which has pci-e x16).
  25. I thought my computer has 2 PCI slots and one PCI-e x1 slot. I could be wrong though, I'll open it up and look when I'm done using it sometime. How much better is a pci card (like that one) than my integrated one. Yes it has. You would have to fork out about 40$ for a 8400gs or 2400pr pci... Which is a complete waste of money. The pci bus caps the performance so much. And pci-e x1 is better, but they are crap expensive. A pci card would perform better, don't know by how much (search around yourself) - not to repeat myself, but save the 40$ and save up more money for a new computer. If you had a pci-e 16 or agp slot it would be more price worthy.
