  1. What spells did you use? I'm guessing since your magic lvl was 80, you were using the Wave spells? Do you have any tips/strategies/pointers to add? I have slightly higher melee combat skills than what you had at the time but my magic is nowhere near lvl-80. *sigh* I guess I'll attempt DT when my magic is at that level too.
  2. What's wrong with prayer? It's part of the game so I see nothing wrong with using it. Use anything and everything to get the job done, even if it means using your friends as meatshields during the fight with Damis! :D (Just kidding about the meatshield thing)
  3. Four member accounts? That, my friend, is madness.
  4. Just make everything from scratch. Mine your pure essence and make nature runes. Chop your logs (maple, yew, whatever) and fletch them to strung longbows. Then high alch. This will take a while to do but will maximize your profit and give you valuable skill experience. One other method is to ask some of your friends to help you and share some of the profit. Four people, splitting the task of mining pure essence, chopping logs and picking flax helps speed things up. If you work as a team and help each other train skills, you'll become more efficient. Happy skilling! :)
  5. Hm if you're getting creamed with those stats, looks like I have a lot of training to do. Did you consider using a Ring of Life to save your bacon? When you die, at least you won't lose all your gear.
  6. Using Modern spells right now but I'm working towards unlocking Lunar and Ancient spells.
  7. Scammers, beggers and "n00bs" There are "newbs" and there are "n00bs". Everybody starts off as a newb when they start the game. It's new and they're unfamiliar with the game so that's not a problem. Old/senior players should act responsibly and help these players by answering their questions, showing them around Lumbridge to help them get acquainted or give them some low leveled armor to start them off. Then there are n00bs. These are the players that have been playing for a long while and STILL have no clue about a lot of things in the game. These are also players that act immaturely and ruin the game or the atmosphere of the game. Everybody starts off as a "newb" but being a "n00b" is a mentality.
  8. I agree with The Editor that it is more appropriate to call it an obsession instead of an addiction. I suppose I'll have to consider myself partly obsessed with RS since I sometimes play till 1AM on a weeknight and 2AM on weekends. Why am I only "partly" and not "fully" obsessed? At least I have enough self control to do/finish my chores around the house before I start playing, especially on the weekends. I occassionally go out with friends to a movie and all that lovely stuff. Enough about myself... An addiction, according to the definitions from the article, implies that the user is in an euphoric state (they're happy/high). An obsession on the other hand, does not imply an euphoric state. When you're playing you can sometimes die from making a mistake while you're in a tough battle etc and this sets you back. An obsessed player would probably react by swearing profusely either in their room or through public chat. After blowing off steam, they would go full throttle to regain their lost items and possibly lose sleep in the process. An unobsessed player (is that even a real word?) would just shrug off the loss and continue playing at their regular pace and slowly regain their items. There's my two-cents.
  9. You can buy an unenchanted monkey talisman from the Ape Atoll magic shop for 1k gp. Then kill a monkey to get some monkey bones. To make any Monkey greegree, you'll need to navigate through Marim dungeon with a monkey bone and an unenchanted monkey talisman and talk to Zooknock. I highly recommend making extra greegrees after you've obtained your Karamja greegree during the quest (Monkey Madness). To make a Ninja greegree, kill a Monkey Archer. Don't attempt to attack the Monkey Archers guarding the gates into the city; you'll end up getting jailed. Instead, attack the Monkey Archers that are sitting/crouching on the raised platforms. You would think you cannot attack them and get their bones, but you can. Just melee them and you can grab their bones; you don't even need to use Telegrab :) To make a Gorilla/Guard greegree, kill a Gorilla Guard in the Temple. Bring some decent armor and weapons, maybe some food and combat boost potions. Then stand next to the Gorilla altar to recharge your prayer points. Turn on Protect From Melee, switch in your weapon and kill a Gorilla Guard. Remember to periodically recharge your prayer points and you'll have no problem killing the Gorilla Guard. To make a Zombie greegree, kill a Zombie Monkey in Marim dungeon. Remember to stand beneath the rock overhangs to avoid getting hit from falling rocks whenever the cavern shakes. There are gorilla skeletons about half-way into Marim dungeon but I haven't tried making a greegree from their bones. It's possible but not verified. Happy 'Scaping!
  10. I've realized some of the skills that I was dedicated to training back when I was still a free player have now ground to a halt when I joined members. Well, it's mainly mining and smithing that's ground to a halt since it is far too arduous to train them for any extended period. I am by no means a rich player even though I can runecraft natures and high alch the junk/stuff that I fletch/craft/smith. I prefer to gather all the materials I need for skill training and I am always appreciatiative of the people I've met donating items to me for skill training. Perhaps it's my solo-styled skill training that's made me lost interest in training certain skills. Maybe the Genie needs to visit me more often or Juna should shorten the wait time between tear gathering sessions from 7 to 3 days. (Did my reply have a point? Not really...)
  11. Look at the Quest List and do any quests that you have the requirements for. The Quest itself will tell you where to go and who to talk to in order to start the quest. I suggest doing quests that open up any form of free transportation: The Grand Tree, Fairy Tales 2, Tree Gnome Village, Ghosts Ahoy. Some of these quests need other quests as their requirements, so do those too. If you look at my sig, I started mems Dec 25th, 2006 and in two months I have about 180 quest points.
  12. Kill Tribesman. Much easier for spear drops. You just need iron OR better. Bring some anti-poison just in case tho.
  13. Fish and cook in Catherby. If you don't know where that is, it is south-east of Seer's Village/Camelot Castle and west of White Wolf Mountain. Buy or use your Hunter skill and get yourself a barb-tail harpoon and fish for tuna/swordfish/sharks then cook them in the house to the east of the bank. You'll be able to train both skills concurrently. There's a possibility that your cooking skill will eventually be going up faster than your fishing but that's the point, right? Edit: Oops, didn't see that you wanted mem skills only. Ok go to the Gnome Tree Stronghold and train your Agility to at least level 40. Then go to Yanille (south of Ardougne and north of Feldip Hills). Get a weapon with slashing, some food and maybe 1 anti-poison pot. Go into the Yanille Agility dungeon using the entrance that's outside the citywalls. You'll have to slash open the webs. Go down the stairs, go across the pit and kill Chaos Druid Warriors for their herb drops. They also drop a reasonable amount of secondary ingredients.
  14. I recommend the Al Kharid scorpion pit. It's a longer walk to the bank but there's a forge nearby and you can smelt your iron bars before banking thus saving 1 bank slot.
  15. Whoa Wolfz, for some reason this sounds very bleak. Counselor?? I know I shouldn't be asking this or making assumptions but it sounds like you have a debilitating medical condition :( If you do have a debilitating medical condition, please take care of yourself. It would be very sad to lose a fellow Tipiter.
  16. The Agility Pyramid is tons of fun! The 1k gp that you get when you reach the top is a nice little bonus :) Now, if only I can finish "Contact!" then I'll have a nearby bank to replenish my food supply quickly. I'm still failing obstacles like a poor n00b
  17. In theory, the minimum GP for buying your house and a kitchen. Mine tons of clay for soft clay, mine and smelt tons of steel bars, mine and craft tons of limestone for limestone bricks. Then for the next 6 months or more, keep making clay fireplaces or stone fireplaces in your parlor and progressively make higher level sinks and stoves for your kitchen. You'll get to lvl-70 construction, spend very little money but it'll take you forever. Happy Scaping.
  18. If you're attacking monks but you don't want to kill them in one hit, remove your weapon, set your attack style to Block and punch away :) For mems, arm yourself with the Cat Toy and it'll drop all your attack bonuses by at least -100 points. Then go attack monks to your heart's desire. I think you get the Cat Toy after the quest "Rat Catcher". Edit: Actually, this would be the worst way to train def, so just forget about it...
  19. When I was playing the Tai Bwo Wannai jungle clean-up mini-game, the Tribesman poison hits around 12. Then again, this might be a subjective value and it could depend on your stats. Can anybody else confirm this value?
  20. So magic is the way to go eh? Is the dead body easy to spot? I'm terrible at finding safespots :(
  21. Dalcyte, this sounds like a cool event so sign me up! When you determine what time to host/start the event, can you please edit your first post with the time and time zone? I think somewhere in the forum is a "Time Zone Converter" tool that you can use. That way you can also post the time for different time zones and more people can potentially show up. I'll see you there :)
  22. Alright, so far this is the list of definite participants for the event: Celestrana (me :) ) Mchainmail Johnson442 Gwilym I was hoping for more but if we're lucky some more will sign up or join us in the middle of the event.
  23. I don't have a ddp++ but I'll give the gadderhammer a try. Thankfully I just finished the "In Aid of the Myreque" quest last night.
  24. I like the idea of a Construction Guild but don't place it near Falador. Falador already has the Crafting Guild on its doorstep and Mining Guild inside the city. I think Ardougne location is an alright idea. Perhaps put a mini-game in the Con Guild as an effort to help King Luthas rebuild West Ardougne. Mini-game idea can be repairing buildings, making flatpack furniture etc for "Construction Tickets" that you can trade for construction supplies. Perhaps these "Construction Tickets" can be traded for Plank bank notes or bank notes for other materials, that way they're stackable. The mini-game can sorta be like the Wizard Training mini-game. Get points/tickets and use these points/tickets to buy more materials for the game or trade for the bank notes. I know, it's totally off topic but somebody mentioned the mini-game and I felt I had to put it here instead of starting a new thread.
