  1. It costs 6k to turn them into planks A bit of math to clarify miniscooter's response: If you use 1 inventory slot to hold money and 27 inventory slots to hold oak logs. Each oak log costs 250gp to convert to an oak plank. 27 oak logs * 250gp per oak log = 6750gp Now to clarify the amount of xp gained: 27 oak planks * 60xp per oak plank = 1620xp So, finally we have 1620xp for 6750gp worth of oak planks.
  2. Short term goals. For example, instead having a training marathon to train a skill for an entire week, I train the skill one level at a time. Depending on the skill, I might be training for a few hours to gather materials for another skill etc. Another short term goal is training certain skills for quests. This could be Agility, my melee combat skills, range, magic or whatever skills I need to help me finish my quest. A wise man once said "You can eat an elephant but you'll need to do it one small bite at a time."
  3. AMEN =D> I may have said your quote at one point. I'm glad to see that there are players that are mature enough to realize that fact.
  4. If you use potions in a Wilderness fight you're a "pot noob"?
  5. So a "special" special? I've never really used the Rod of Ivandis but could this "uber-sword" be similar to it?
  6. Perhaps the Item Researchers or volunteers should gather all the German item names and the Tip.It team can include it into the Items Database. With the quantity of items, this might be a huge endevour but I believe it will be a worthwhile one.
  7. Body positions like the "Lotus form" for yoga? (I don't do yoga, so I'm just making this up hehe)
  8. It would be interesting to see some sort of program/applet that can show a start-destination route. You select your start point and where you want to go, and also enter the different transport methods that are available to you: Fairy Rings, Gnome Gliders, Spirit Trees etc. The two "free" transport methods I use almost exclusively are the Fairy Rings and the Gnome Gliders. On occassion I use teleport jewelry (Dueling Ring, Games Necklace..) or teleport items to go to specific places (Ectophial, Small elf crystal..)
  9. I use the nearby fairy ring to access the Nature altar and it feels less stressful than running to and from Shilo Village.
  10. =D> I love the fact that your family has decided to embrace gaming instead of hating it.
  11. Good analogy. There's no point having multiple accounts since you're only one person and should only be playing with one account ie. NO MULTIPLE LOGINS! Definitely keep the same account when joining P2P.
  12. Hehe, were you expecting an Armani suit? Or maybe yellow Spandex with purple speed stripes?
  13. There are trees everywhere. I don't see a point in having a Woodcutting Guild on an official sense but there's no problem with a group of people who want to get together and help each other out. Seer's Village on any world would be the unofficial "Fletching Guild"
  14. that has to be the most innovative idea ive heard on these forums in a long, long time I remember someone using one of those waterbird things to click every few seconds and auto-tele, but the timing is not right for alching. Somebody got some inspiration from a Simpsons episode...
  15. How can that be illegal? Jagex does not specifically state that you cannot create a piece of hardware that will push your mouse-button. Jagex specifically state the use of macros is illegal, which is software but at no point did they state building your own hardware is illegal.
  16. I prefer the balanced attack bonuses of the dragon longsword. We shouldn't be berating anybody about their choice between a dragon longsword or a dragon scimitar because its their character and thus their choice. Same with a granite maul. I don't need to deal with immature players that call me a "noob" just because I don't have a granite maul. I prefer the balanced quality of a longsword over any weapon, any day of the week.
  17. People just have to explore more and realize that there's more to do than chop wood and make fires. Not that I'm saying everybody does that but people just have to go out and do something instead of crowding the cities. Too many young, free players want instant gratification and thus they beg in the hopes they'll get "phr33 s7uff", get bored of the game and quit. Too many immature players with high skill lvls calling other players "noob" because that "noob" can't mine or chop wood as fast as them: you were once that "noob" too. There's a proverb: "Give a man a fish and they eat for a day. Teach a man to fish and they will eat for a lifetime." Instead of relying on other players efforts for your own gain, take some time to train your skills to a decent lvl and go get these "rares" on your own! (By now, I know I'm totally off topic but just hear me out.) I can't say all players are immature and selfish since there are plenty of mature and respectable players too. To be constructive, the more experienced/mature players should be freely giving out advice so that the "noob" will learn how to train their skills better so that they'll stop being "noobs". Plus, there's more gratification when you do something on your own instead of crowding cities, following players that are wearing "rares" and begging them for hand-outs. EDIT: More off-topic rant. Maybe Jagex can make Beggars a Slayer assignment.
  18. For one, to get away from the excessive scamming and immaturity of some F2P players. I got sick and tired of the beggers and the excessive rule-breaking such as the people who use macroers. Although I still occassionally see this on Member worlds, I don't see it as often. On a more positive note, I like the think of myself as a self-sufficient skiller and I loved the idea of having more skills to support my game play style. Why spend money on arrows when you can make them yourself? Plus, I was going nuts with the small amount of skills available to free players.
  19. That must've been a sweet haul for ya! :D The luckiest I've ever been is getting half keys from random events. First half key loop from a Mysterious Old Man Strange Box and first half key tooth from a "Certer" visit while I was spinning bow strings in Lumbridge castle.
  20. My herblore isn't high enough to make anything significantly useful but I've already started using Unicows for collecting unicorn horns. What we need from Tower of Life are plant-based monsters for ingredients such as Snape Grass or the herbs for Recylim's Balm (Rogue's Purse and Snake Weed).
  21. Making friends on RS is easy but probably not around Rimmington since people do not go there frequently. I suggest you move your firemaking training to Catherby or Seer's Village if you're a member or Draynor Village if you're a free-player. Those are three good places to occassionally say hello to other players as they fish (Catherby), fletch bows in the bank (Seer's) or chop willow (Draynor).
  22. You have the quest sequence reversed. "The Eyes of Glouphrie" came before "Monkey Madness".
  23. A new potion you say? Gonna check it out tonight. If this new potion has the combined effects of those three potions, then I can save about two bank spaces. The jungle clean-up minigame would be much easier too :)
  24. Total lvl: 1302 Cash: ~400k ["Mil"? What is this "mil" that you speak of?] You'll definitely need several million data points to determine any sort of correlation between total lvl and net worth. My bank is mostly filled with quest and skill training related junk.
  25. An "animal training" skill. Maybe but it would be a hassle to issue commands to your cat. A larger variety of pets would be a great idea. If Robert the Strong was able to have a black panther as a pet in the "A Tail of Two Cats" cut-scene, why can't we?
