I believe about a week ago before the bot busting was announced I gained 30k ranks in fishing which was amazing. Im 79 fishing so there must have been alot of rollbacks and bans around that time

I think you've hit the nail on the head. RS is definitely not for those looking for an instant gratification/god cheat code/warp to the final boss kind of game. And again that is why I love this game and continue to play it because everything feels like an achievement. Every level and grind and item i obtain is a great feeling. Even thou some things take forever to get (99 agility :o) i really believe that this game isn't meant to be able to power through maxed out in a few months.

Yeah, a ban would be too much, i would say get rid of all the loyalty rewards they bought and then dock a few thousand loyalty points as well or something. Or for a real bad move, subtract all the points they did really spend so they have negative loyalty points :ohnoes:

To be honest I love the "grind" or competition to reach max 99 in all levels. It may be a pain to get all this grind xp for the skills but it still to me anyways is fun. The amount of older players has dwindled because the boringness but more so for the ages. I know when I first started college I quit rs for quite a long time and still dnt play at all compared to the amount I used to play but I still enjoy playing. Its more about being bored and having more to do instead of playing hour upon hour.

Honestly all the lag has really started with me since the nuke yesterday. I don't know if it was because the required step up to java 1.6 or not, but it has been laggy very much recently to me. And towards the server close, I highly doubt many servers will close if at all, although I do see the f2p servers just amazingly empty and really does make me wonder.. this bot issue was amazingly horrid and alot worse than i thought if more than 80% of f2p were bots and stopped playing thats just too much.

Simply put, we cannot know at this time. I agree you should wait until the price settles because people are buying out high value items bots had previously accumulated to use, and since they are banning bots, its possible that alot of the items may have been removed from the game but the actual number isnt know for a few days/weeks.

To everyone: its still hard to tell what exactly they did that supposedly stopped botters, because there really isnt anything out in the open other than alot of graphical glitches now... so maybe (considering their "fix" to frost drags) the glitches is some part of the fix? and we really won't know the real extent of their fix until later in the week, or maybe longer than that.

What graphics "mode" are you on? I hear there are some bugs with DitectX mode. Try changing that setting around, they say OpenGL is your best bet. Yeah i just looked around, the problem is fixed when i switch to software mode, and i play on minimum settings, but when i try to dungeoneer the black lines show up after every door is opened which is annoying, im going to try to look around some more. Just click on the "auto setup" mode and it is fixed ;) It didnt work. There are alot of graphical glitches out right now, like invisible people at ge and house glories dissapearing etc. Its gotta be due to the whole update but I really havent a clue.

That's because the people on here have the common sense to grasp that it will be a day at the minimum before anyone can say anything of the sort... Not saying you don't have common sense, just that's why you're not getting the instant gratification you're seeking so desperately. Well - if I didn't know any better, I'd say that I was just insulted. :shame: ... and I think my point is valid. So far, I've seen nothing to indicate that bots aren't working. And I have seen NO evidence whatsoever that any accounts have been banned. And considering the "hype" surrounding a "BOT NUKE" scenario, one would think that such indications would be broad-based and instantaneous. That is, you know, one of the principals of a "nuke". This seems more like a "bot war on terror", that's going to dredge on for years and years ... :rolleyes: I'd say that Kimberly has a point. You're actually making soundbites now and making huge assumptions. Be patient, and we'll come to a consensus once all of the hype has died down. Maybe its a trap, they monitor the game client and any information read but 3rd party = flag/ban?? makes sence to me so the botters think its safe, bot and get banned idk it seems possible

Checked out dragons between classes. There are hordes of people in d shirts, granite platebodies, whips, and etc. But I think that might be due to this newfangled 3x slayer EXP thing that's going on. :mellow: Wel that sucks, I hope it's just the slayer bonus... Now that would suck if the update didnt do anything but change colors/graphics etc and bots still work fine...

Slayer is packed no matter where you go, just a heads up to everyone, cannonable tasks are BOMBED with people so dnt even bother unless your up to compete

Update = 3x slay xp [hide=THE UPDATE!][/hide] OT: So jagex tweeted that the countdown timer was simply an estimated time to arrival and it may take longer, so why not use a longer timer? People rather things come early: extend the timer 2 hours and then this whole fuss about it wouldnt happen. TBH i still would like to slay a bit before class sooooo ... [/waiting] :wall:

Personally? The slayer update. id like to see how they think they are fixing the bot problem, but all the bonuses from this udate are top priority in my list

Did they miss launch the update? a countdown generally means the X (bot update) will be released once the Y (countdown timer) reaches 0. Being a computer programmer myself, I don't make timers unless I intend to implement them for their actual use. I hope it comes soon thou... I HAVE CLASS IN NOT TOO LONG!! :(

Living on RS all day probably gets boring with 8+ hour binges of just pure grind for xp. I know I wouldnt do that even I was getting paid for it so maybe thats why they want to quit? just be done with constant grind and have fun? I actually still play for fun so thats just me. No grind for xp here
