  1. I like the update though a few things bothered me; the room limit should be increase--a couple of us have used up our rooms, it only makes sense that when they add a new room, that they increase it by 1. I love being able to move our costume rooms though. Another thing that bothered me(I could be ignorant about this one so fill me in if I am wrong) but 'You have to be recently attacked or have attacked recently to send Familiar into battle', I didn't like this and what is more grueling is that if u are in battle and you send your familiar into battle, you will be off the npc(it will still attack you/Fam though), and you will have to attack again.
  2. That is not a valid excuse--they haven't even tried. And that is a pretty presumptuous to start out with. How about something like God Wars? People loved that. How about some high end additions to skills? People love that. How about the Deepstone keep which is a combination of both things? People love it and all the ideas are already brainstormed--all that needs to be done is the coding(I would be willing to wait). I don't think myself or others when they express frustration due to lack of updates give a damn about the coding involved. What is of concern is the quality of the update(s), not the coding quality but the game play aspect. It isn't to say that we don't care about the hard work that coding involves but if it takes Jagex months to develop an update that requires strenuous coding and it turns out to be heavily unpopular--well that doesn't do us any good--Oh, and wait, that is Mobilizing Armies that I just described didn't I? People would have enjoyed any of the aforementioned updates(Deepstone Keep, high end skilling updates etc.)--which would require according to you less coding, so what is the hold up? If people clearly want it and it requires less work then why would Jagex hold back? This year can't compare with even 2008 where we had a Slayer update, Corp Beast, Summoning, While Guthix Sleeps and other updates. Quality and quantity have definitely been lost. 8 Months is 66% of the year, which is very significant. In a game where you pay monthly fees, there should be some monthly incentive to renew your membership. I am not expecting something major every month--that is insane but something decent would be nice. The fact that they don't tell us ANYTHING except "We like to keep you on your toes etc." which to me translates to "We don't have anything and we will throw you something once in a while when we feel like it.", it gives absolutely nothing to look forward to which is... The only major thing in my opinion anyone on the Jagex Mod team did this year was Mod Mark H who came up with that wonderful idea of the Deepstone keep--which turned out to be only a 'suggestion'. They spent more time in thinking of some concrete update most people will enjoy but one that will remain only a 'suggestion' just to give us false hopes.
  3. I have never played WOW--even try it but it doesn't take a genious to figure out that WOW is generally considered to be a better game. That is why it is mainstream and RS is not. I am not talking about just graphics either. Whether it be the way they treat their customers, their general attitude, the effort that is put in the updates--it is better than RS. The sad thing is, RS has so much potention but it is wasted. For instance, we haven't had one major update this whole year. Only thing MMG has done is talk the talk, he has yet to walk it. The current state of updates is "We want to surprise the fans, we like to keep them on their toes, which basically means we won't tell you anything about anything--which means no BTS and we will just throw some random updates along the way". There is very little to look forward. Seriously, I don't get upset over why WOW is mainstream, and you shouldn't either, the reasons are clear. I don't expect RS to be mainstream anytime soon, not until there is a REAL change in the attitude of the administration and they get serious about RS.
  4. There are still quite a few ways to gain EP with ease. As for all of these people 'high fiving' Jagex, I don't see why. The only reason people 76ked in the first place is because this ridiculous system that is in place right now rewards people for just standing around and doing nothing and then enacting fake fights with friends; these people are rewarded far more than actual Pking could ever be. 76king wasn't the problem, the way EP is built is the problem. Until the fix that, people will abuse it as they please. Once again, just more bandages when in reality they really need to evaluate the real problem. They have very little idea what they want to do with PVP, they seem to show no vision of theirs and rather they are just being reactionary, each week they give in to the side who cries out loudest.
  5. No we don't--why, might you ask? Simple; it isn't necessary. It should be clear by this point that the RWT problem wasn't anywhere near as severe as Jagex portrayed it to be--propaganda is what it was. It was about control, and it was about their obsession to get rid of 'rule-breakers' (RWT); not because RWT was so grave that it would have bankrupt the company but because it was some strange obsession. Ask yourself this, if the RWT problem was as severe, why aren't other games facing such a situation? Why aren't they taking such severe steps? Take WOW for example; ultimately they are a business too. If they were losing the amount of money Jagex claims it was losing, surely they would react? No, WOW is STILL pretty Laissez-Faire, they don't have any such restrictions. Why? Because they actually make an attempt to listen to their customers and don't loathe them like Jagex does. It is this attitude that sets them apart, even though their CS isn't that much better. An RWT obsession CAN be a bad thing, and this case it clearly is. When your obsession grows so far that you completely neglect your customers for the sake of combating RWT, that is when you draw the line. Some of these restrictions are completely ridiculous. 4 hours? 5% trade cap? These things have damaged the game in a way that RWT could have never. If it isn't merchants hoarding due to the flawed Grand Exchange System which easily lets them to do, then it is Jagex STILL trying to fix the damage from 2 years ago, or it is Jagex riddling the game with bugs. Why? Because they have no vision, the have reacted with knee-jerk reaction--one after another. Every time they please one group, they upset another, so they try to please that one, then they upset the other and so the cycle continues. It is so rushed, and poor quality, particularly bugs. We still haven't gotten anything significant--aside from minor fixes. It has been 7 months, and still NO major update this year aside from Pking; something the vast majority of RS players don't even partake in. You know what, they want control, they can have it. I will even accept no free market--how about just loosening the trade cap to 10%? That would immediately solve most of the problems with merchants and would allow the supply and demand to reach equilibrium faster--since Jagex refuses to correct prices. But no....Yeah, this attitude of their is complete BS. As for everyone here being 'Anti-RWT', Tip.it has one for the last several years, arguably the biggest proponent of Jagex--unnecessarily so at times.
  6. While I am *not* really surprised that you would something say something to this effect..considering the fact that amongst these boards you are a belligerent proponent of Jagex who refuses to listen anything to the contrary and has constantly trolled others and attacked members simply because they disagree or share a critical view of Jagex. However, on the contrary, he said nothing wrong. With Gravestone changes and what not(the recent ones), there is very little use for Protect Item--though it still exists. When it comes to PVM, when I go to most bosses--I do not go with the intent that I will be dieing, thus I do not keep Protect Item on the whole time. Only time I ever put it in on is if I am low on supplies and most of the team has left. Aside from that, it is usually at the Corp Beast or Solo's but overall Protect Item isn't that necessary. Otherwise, death is unexpected when it comes. On PVP however, death is very much a reality, and people *do* or rather they use to keep such things as Protect from Melee and Protect Item on. So yeah, the main uses lay mainly with PVP or they use to at least.
  7. Dumbest way to gain EP. Far better off doing something productive. Just because you don't like it doesn't mean it isn't 'productive' or 'great'. What made PVP so great wasn't the cash rewards, those were fairly random, what made them so great was you could train your skills while getting EP and also get cash rewards and possible brawlers. No where else can you obtain that kind of wealth while actually training your skills. As far as productivity was concerned, you couldn't have gotten any more productive than that even if you tried.
  8. When your 'chance' of losing said bonus item is 100% on death, well then, it isn't 'risk' anymore, it is certain death; for some of the gloves anyways. For instance, the Agility Brawlers, if you want to do it in Wilderness Arena, well you won't last more than a couple minutes before being hunted by some clan or another--whether you risk 75k or not. At this point, rather than getting a few minutes of bonus experience, you are just better of alching it or whatever. This will be the case for quite a few of the gloves. Before anyone points out that there was no risk before; not true. I received Woodcut Brawlers(from a legitimate kill under pre-BH PVP system) and I used the spot in varrock. I took decent armor there to defend myself and often Pkers would show up, ultimately, after around I would say 70% use, I *did* get killed by some TBer/Ancient combo, and I lost 2M in addition to the gloves. If Jagex wants to give me that kind of risk, fine, fair enough--where I at least have a *chance* of survival. However, making it so that the gloves are ALWAYS lost on death is ridiculous. Armor or no armor, you will fall before some clan or another--soon than later. So you can't handle it, that's fine, it just shows that you're not resourceful enough. Why not work in a team for mutual protection, or work out some other defensive strategy? For once, big rewards aren't going to be handed out to the players on a silver platter, it's going to take dedication and some smart thinking. Go on, try it. Sorry, but isn't just a matter of 'me not being able to handle it', I am level 137 and I know how to fend for myself. However, in an environment where clans run wild and death is certain every 2-4 minutes and you are GUARANTEED to lose the item, that is ridiculous. As for mutual protection, skilling is a very individual thing for many, most people can't be bothered to and shouldn't be expected to form teams. Even then, it would most likely be pretty pointless. To label it as just a matter of being resourceful is rather naive of you. Clan or no clan, you WILL get piled be one clan or another, added to that you will always lose your gloves-- it is simply frivolous. It isn't a matter of resourceful , it is simply an unbalanced update.

  10. PVP is the only reason it climbed up this high(partly due to inflation and partly due to demand). No where is it really necessary for the amount it costs at this point. So yes it will crash, and a lot of other places--people often used them because they had AGS for PVP. A lot of people are going to sell, and panic selling will certainly be prevalent.
  11. Can you say that with certainty? No you can't. It seems it has became fashionable as of late to troll these forums; amongst the more older users anyways. Isn't that what you're doing? I was blackjacking bearded bandits today and a lower level (60ish I think) came by and asked how I was doing that. I didn't respond because, well, I was blackjacking. He kept asking and I didn't answer. He eventually said "reported bot nub". I have a screenshot on my other computer, I'll post it later. No, I just come here and take things at face value because that is all you can without any evidence. I don't come here trolling...I didn't say anything with certainty, I simply said he can't be certain that the person's story was fictitous
  12. Can you say that with certainty? No you can't. It seems it has became fashionable as of late to troll these forums; amongst the more older users anyways.
  13. Stance: Tolerant of it, I have homosexual friends, however, I don't feel it is necessary. Religion: Islam Orientation: ;) I am of the opinion that political correctness is superficial and unnecessary. It has no place in the gaming industry particularly when dealing with Jagex's audience(not a stereotype by any means but one can't deny a significant portion of the audience are teens/children). Jagex shouldn't be any chance 'anti-gay'(they aren't) but they don't need to completely embrace it. You do realize that 'homo' is a colloquial term for homosexuality/homosexuals, there is no need to nitpick everything; makes you look more of an idiot.
  14. While this may be slightly off topic, but didn't Runescape become available to the public on January 4, 2001, so why do you hae 7 quests listed under 2000?
  15. I agree. I'm not, but he is. You don't understand. All those 'transition times' are ALREADY factored in to my calculations. Take a closer look. I am just going to assume at this point you have nothing to reply with.
  16. I don't see why you are bringing up these things? You stated that people would be better of doing slayer separately and then making money separately through avansies and then training summoning separately assuming they make a certain amount of income because apparently that would make Rock Lobs beneficial. I am disputing this point. I don't know how what you posted above is relevant. As for slayer, most slayer masters have what; some 20 odd tasks or so? Most of the time it is repeat tasks anyways, this would be evident if you tried to see how long it takes for one peculiar master to give you all of tasks once atleast; that would be a long time. So once you 'get into' slayer, it is quite easy to get tasks done efficiently. You can't camp Rock Lobs from the start but you are suggesting that somewhere down the line you are better of just bursting those and doing slayer separately. What I am trying to get at is, if you do slayer, even to get your melee combats to a particular point, it will be beneficial to you in many ways because you are doing all of those things at once. For instance, when you train slayer; you are getting charms, you are getting money(not the best money maker or a great one but a moderately decent amount), you are training melee, you are training range and mage to an extent, you are getting some very potentially useful drops that will open doors to other skills. If you are someone who is a medium level player, that is far better than transitioning between 10-20 different things.
  17. The benefits as stated above are; ALL of those things at once. That would particularly be advantageous to people who don't have enough time. As for 'hopping' around, I am not just talking about melee, I am talking about making money, summoning, slayer, and combat. From what you propose, it would be more advantageous to do 'avansies', then 'burst rock lobs', red chinchompas at ape atolle, then train slayer to achieve all those things because it would be somewhat faster, which simply isn't true. For a lot of people, doing all of them at once would better and in some ways faster.
  18. Not really, slayer is something that inherently goes hand in hand with combat; particularly melee. It benefits those who start it right from the 'get-go', and does little for other folks. For instance, I have friends, who have been here for years, since the 'classic-days', some of them who play actively to this day and have very low slayer levels; in the 70's because it is pointless to them. On the other hand, I have a few friends who started in 2005, or sometime around after RS2 that are nearly maxed out in all skills and have trained most of their combat from slayer. I know someone who trained 100% of her combat from slayer and she is maxed out at this point. While it is true that training them separately may be faster, but like many highscore leaders have attested; you waste more time hopping around from one skill to another rather than just sticking to one and going all the way. It is much 'easier' and 'comfortable' for most people to do slayer instead of training combat separately, what you are proposing is a division between slayer and combat, where as others treat those 2 things as 1. If you start Slayer from when your combat is low or atleast medium level, you can easily get your slayer level somewhere in the 90's. In some ways, Slayer just is more convenient rather than doing all those things separately. And for some people, it is 'faster' than doing things separately. For instance, if you start slayer; you can train all of your melee skills, with some little room for ranging(Bloodvelds and other tasks), some *minor* room for magic(Metal Dragons), you are also training summoning, you could potentially save up dragon bones for a little bit of prayer, a lot monsters drop some pure essense; which is a start for RC, you can also gather a lot herbs and do farming in between. It is far easier and in some ways faster to do ALL of these things at once rather than trying to figure out how to 10 different things separately. It in undeniable that if you are at the medium level or low level stage in Runescape, slayer is a GREAT start. With the high end of things though, by that point you already know how everything works so it is a bit more easier using your method of separation. You are trying to make it more of an 'objective' approach when in reality it really is a 'personal choice'.
  19. I don't know which Tip.it you have been observing; but ever since Andrew threatened to sue Tip.it over the article dealing with bannings ; as far as I have seen Tip.it has been super defensive against Jagex, it is one of the reasons why I seldom visit here and I know this is the same reason why others don't come here either.
  20. Lies. I do think that high ranking players are quite geeky. Nerds are, by the definition I have learned, people who are quite intelligent, don't have too many friends if any, and are isolated (in study). Geeks are people who are enthusiastic about a subject and have quite a lot of knowledge, ability, or skill in that area. Examples include a computer geek or a band geek. I'm quite geeky about finding out the best ways to level in RuneScape, but I waste a lot of time and could have a significantly higher total level if I hadn't used a lot of time just browsing the internet or just playing minigames on RuneScape. Now whether they have some real life acquisitions such as a good job/career/degree/education and good social relations depends on their efficiency, the time they have played (when they started RuneScape), and their time used on things other than skills in RuneScape. It really just depends and there are quite a lot of people who do an overwhelming job with keeping balance in their life while excelling. Uha.. Donno what your calling me a liar about but thats a good opinion which I somewhat agree with. Briefly: Imo geeks are people who are intelligent but are generally liked and socialable. Nerds are people who are intelligent but mean and less liked. Again thats all down to opinion. The same way the word 'noob' is. Being a geek or a nerd is linked to any particular subject you want. Its also a immature saying imo but I dont mind it either. I accept people like to chuck it about and take it as a compliment most times depending who said it and what context. Tbh I dont act smart and love to live life myself so although im a geek I am also reasonably 'normal' too in a abnormal way. If that makes any sense lol. - Chucking something else out there. I dont mention it often but some high ranking (Aswell as lower) players must have OCD too which helps out alot in this game. (While levelling to keep fast xp rates etc.) If you have control over that condition you can play safely without it consuming you. So im not saying they are compulsive players. I said 'some' as there are undoubtedly people who are just very passionate about the game. Me included. Thats one mental condition/gift of many that can actively aid players keep efficiency aswell as intelligence which often comes with such conditions/mind. Anyway this is far too deep for this forum so I stop there. Also understand this applies to ALL PLAYERS. So its actually rather irrelevant lol. If you consider someone who is passionate about something to be a geek then yes many high levels are.. If you do not consider a geek to be this.. Then I guess they are not. Its down to opinion. I highly believe that most 'high level's have 'lives' though. People cant survive without them.. Every high level I met has a 'life' outside of runescape. Its kinda immature to presume otherwise. [/hide] You definitely don't have an IQ above 160 if you couldn't even figure out what I was calling you a liar about. *rolls eyes back* I dont care about proving it. Jealousy sucks [wagon] especially over the internet.. #-o The average is 80-120 with genius around the mark of 140-160. Its not uncommon for me to meet people with IQs over 140. I simply am higher and if anyone is jealous of that then thats their problem tbh. I was banter joking although I was serious. Not seriously bragging. To point it out is embarrassing they felt they had to. Why bother bringing up things of little relevance and/or that which can't be proven over 't3h int3rn3tz'. Not only that, but even if you were to put something of substance to prove your claims, most of us still wouldn't believe you. Not only are IQ tests inefficient and inaccurate in determining what they claim to do but consider this; Albert Einstein who is universally considered to be brilliant, never took an IQ test in his life but most historians and scientists typically agree that he had an IQ of around 160, if you are trying to claim that you have intelligence on a level similar to or equal to Einstein..well don't expect any of us to believe you. Meh, I would be more inclined to believe this is one of those cases of someone taking one of those silly little IQ tests that are so rampant on the internet that have very little scientific or sound base, and thus that someone scoring a 'high IQ' on that test and going around proclaiming it so, and believing in it.
  21. On that note, I have been playing since late 2001, and I was there on each of the days that the coveted non-tradeable rares were dropped, yet I was unable to get either of them. I didn't complain or partake in any of the 'riots' that occurred, but I do think that people that were present on the days that the untradable rares were dropped should be able to get them.
  22. Don't forget, we ALL started from F2P mate. ;) Point being? FTP = server costs for Jagex, virtually no revenue. The sole goal of FTP is to get people to sign up for members. On the contrary, over the course of its years of existence, 'Advertising'(I am assuming it means F2P) has accounted for about 7-9% of Jagex's total revunue, which is insignificant compared to the revenue generated from P2P subscriptions, but it is certainly more than 'virtually no revenue', and not to mention the potential for revenue to be generated from F2P exists because they are 'potential members'.
  23. A nice guide, not the best out there but certainly not the worst, yet I just can't put my finger on what this guide lacks but there certainly is something. Oh, well that isn't what I came to say; on the topic of bias, I was taught in school by someone of great intellect during our IB 'standards' for Historical Inquiries that bias is everywhere, there is no escaping it. It is the extent of bias that is under your control, not whether bias is present or not. That makes a lot of sense, as bias doesn't just relate to merely stating your opinion, even facts can be presented in a bias fashion. Bias has to do with who the author is, his/her intentions, even this was strictly facts, you would be inclined to present certain facts over others or do them in a particular way just because of human nature, and thus bias would be present. So there is no 'remedy' to bias, in fact, it isn't necessarily a bad thing as I was taught, it can be advantageous, its just that people get too caught into it. So onwards to the 'extent of bias', which is probably what a lot of people were 'concerned' about initially in this guide, it wasn't the fact that you presented your opinion, because lets face it, this is your guide and to expect it to be without your opinion is delusional, it is supposed to have your opinion,so the problem wasn't that you were presenting your opinion but it was the manner in which you were presenting your opinion. Instead of approaching in a manner of 'Well...I prefer this option A as opposed to that option B because...but option B is still an option', instead it was something along the lines of 'Well...I prefer option A so there really isn't any point in going into option B', of course the former 'format' is the 'acceptable' one in my opinion. However, I can see you have adjusted your guide and it isn't quite an issue anymore, but I just wanted to clear a common misconception of 'bias' that is all. Aside from that, good job.
  24. I am not sure if there is a thread like this already so I suppose I will start this one. Post pictures of your house, house plans , or blueprints of your existing house. I will post mine later once I am done. So lets get creative here :)!
  25. I have had my account for 5-6 years and never received a black mark. This whole "Legacy Punishment" system is really beyond my understanding. If they have No evidence then you shouldn't retain any Black Marks or bans. You are innocent until proven guilty.
