  1. Live is beyond spectacular.
  2. Alright, I've decided to make a serious list: 1) Danny Carey--for being the drummer that inspired me to take my craft seriously, not because he's "the best ever" 2) My Cultural and Intellectual History prof--for inspiring me to take my studies seriously and to pursue more than an undergrad 3) Both parents, both for very different reasons 4) Carl Sagan 5) Vic Firth
  3. EP COMBO NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
  4. 1) sees_all 2-5) irrelevant
  5. We stacked square bails (of hay) in all the double door entryways into our school then a bunch of the seniors drove tractors to school and parked in the teachers' parking lot. Yeah we were pretty hick.
  6. Even though I acknowledge the fact that cutthroat tactics are inherent of pking, I will never be able to play the game in that manner. That's why I never have nor will pk. I prefer to keep my gear :)

  8. Saying a person is bad even if they did nothing to you, only out a warped social notion isn't okay at all. Would you do that on a lesser scale? Would you say somebody was the worst person in your town if you heard rumors he sold heroin and shot people you don't even know as acquaintances? No, I'd rather put people who wronged me on the list. Plus, it'd make a more interesting topic than "Totalitarian regimes I never was a part of are the worst!". Well, unless you're over 60 years old or a terrorist attack victim. Then it's fair game. As a student of history, I have to say you couldn't be any more wrong. In order to judge present actions as wrong, we must first have guidelines for judging what is wrong and what is right. Obviously we get these from analyzing instances of right and wrong from the past. If, according to your logic, we cannot judge historical figures like Hitler, Stalin, and Mao as being wrong simply because they haven't done anything wrong to us or anyone we know, that would mean current leaders around the world that commit genocide would have to be deemed in the right. I would like you to tell that to Rwandan refugees or Kurdish families massacred under Saddam Hussein's rule. We have to judge the actions of those who lived in the past based on the time period they were in and how they interacted with others during their lifespan. There can be any number of interpretations of an individual's actions, but saying they can't be judged because they haven't committed any wrong to you or someone you know is completely and utterly ridiculous.
  9. So we can't judge anyone's character because we haven't met them or dealt with them? What does "dealt with them" even constitute? Worked with? Casual acquaintances? These people are mass murderers, multi-million murderers at that. I don't understand how any fair trial would ever reduce their guilt one bit. And as far as comparing Hitler, Stalin, and Mao: this is the list of the worst people of all time. If it was a list of the top five mass-murderers of all time, we wouldn't be debating because that would be a list with infallible statistical information. This about who was the worst--something very subjective. Strictly percentage wise, Mao killed 12%, Stalin killed 19%, and Hitler killed 25% of their population respectively. Those are based on total casualties/population at death.
  10. Going to see Iron & Wine with my mother on Wednesday
  11. I can listen to just about anything outside of modern country (I like old country-western at times). These are some of my favorites though: Jazz/Swing Fusion 90's alternative/grunge Shoegaze Classic Rock 90's hip-hop/rap Progressive New Wave
  12. The German Moses strikes again!
  13. I think it would be very easy to reverse the decision if things began to get out of hand. At the moment, a colossal portion of law enforcement agencies' budgets are used to fight the war on drugs. I think it's worth a try given there are successful models from around the world to follow.
  14. As shallow as that is, I totally agree. It's hard work, but I take care of my body. I'm not going to ignore or be unfriendly to a woman because she's out of shape, but I will certainly never be interested beyond a platonic level.
  15. I don't think the users would stand for any sort of control by Jagex. Not only that, but I doubt Jagex would even want to.

  20. Nevermind. I thought you said buying textbooks not selling.
  21. This is going to make me sound like an a-hole, but perhaps if you hadn't joined the forums less than a year ago, you would have known about him. Oh well, I tried :ohnoes: Congrats anyways Jimmy
  22. I care a great deal about my weight. I never really used to until I went to college. Coming out of high school I was 6'4" 215 but a very small portion of that was fat because I was always lifting weights for hockey and tennis. During my freshman year I rarely worked out and as a result got up to nearly 240 lbs. It was embarrassing and I vowed I would never look like that again. I wanted to get a side tattoo covering my entire side (armpit to waist) and I used that as incentive to lose weight--I wasn't going to get it until I was completely fit again. I got that tattoo spring of '10 and to this day I haven't put a pound of my previous weight back on. Now I'm about 200 lbs which I haven't been since sophomore year of high school. So, yes, I care greatly about my weight and probably will for the rest of my life.
  23. This is just beyond good.
  24. Hell no I don't shave my armpits. I have never considered shaving my armpits...other areas, perhaps, but never the armpits.

Minnesota weather has been horrible all spring. Tons of rain, barely any sunshine. We haven't had 70 degrees yet for more than two days in a row.
