I actually found that about a week ago. I thought it was quite interesting. Has anyone here read "The Zombie Survival Guide"? Its quite an interesting read.

Its just another lame political move. If I'm not mistaken, John Kerry has tried to impeach Bush multiple times since losing the election.

I'm actually willing to eat almost anything edible. Except seafood. I can't stand most seafood. Calamari is good though.

Even the VP of PETA uses bovine insulin for her diabetes. I think that pretty much proves that for medical reasons it is okay. The funny part is that she says that even though she does use bovine insulin, others shouldn't. She claims that the only reason that she can is because she needs to be alive to fight against people who use animals for these reasons....She is pretty much saying "My life is more important that yours"

I've only had 2 runs but I seem to be getting fewer addy bars than most people. On my first run I got about 340 addy bars on about 370 kills and on my second I got about 370 on 460 kills. Am I doing something wrong or am I just unlucky? BTW not wearing a ROW (I think that might affect it negatively since the bars are a common drop instead of a rare one.)

The Social Life Devouring Monster Has FINALLY Let Me Out!!!!
Nitramosma replied to sour_tacos's topic in Off-Topic
I remember how much of my life high school marching band took up, and we didn't even compete. We just performed at all the football games, but even practicing for those took up countless hours every season. It was good to be done with it at the time, but when I think about it most of my fondest memories of high school came from times with the marching band. But after four years I can truly say....REAL ATHLETES PLAY AT HALF TIME!!! -
I understand that some people may be upset at JKR, but this isn't necessarily a bad thing. I think this "revelation" may have been something she had planned for a long time. Look at this from the perspective of gay society. Gays are noted for what? (Note these are stereotypes) promiscuous sex and having STD's. Real great image to send to kids who may be confused about their sexuality. "Hey Johnny, If you're gay, when you grow up you are never going to accomplish anything and you'll probably die of AIDS." By making Dumbledore gay she has shown someone who is gay that has not only not died of AIDS, but he is one of the most accomplished people in his entire society. I see where people are coming from being upset at her for revealing something that was never even strongly hinted at in the books, but in doing so she has opened the door for young adults to become more comfortable with who they are. One thing I've often noticed in society is that there is a huge lack of gay role models outside of the entertainment industry. This move represents society's move towards acceptance of gays and it also is fairly representative of the fact that it is time for some of the successful people in the world to come out of the closet and become a role model for the gay youth of today.

It does bother me that there are special scholarships for specific races, but seeing as scholarships are generally private funds, they have every right to do whatever they want with them. However where I do see a problem is in an instance where (this is all hypothetical mind you) someone wished to create a scholarship for a white person coming from a predominantly black community. Are they not a minority in their particular area? Inner-city Cleveland is approximately 80% black, so should there be no special scholarships for blacks coming from Cleveland seeing as there they are the majority rather than the minority? The whole concept of giving preferential treatment to anyone based on arbitrary characteristics is flawed. Not only is it discriminatory against the majority, but it instills in people (both the majority and the minorities being given special help) the idea that they need help to succeed, which is not only detrimental to their drive to achieve something, but to the way people view that race as a whole.

I'm almost completely pro-life (not necessarily anti-abortion). I believe that first trimester abortions are generally alright. I may not like the reality that most people would use this as an excuse to have rampant unprotected sex, but all in all, I don't think most fetuses (or are they still zygotes) in the first trimester should be considered living so it can not be killed. However, as soon as it can live outside of the mother's body, even in an incubator in an ICU, it should be considered a life and hence murder to abort it. As for the excuse that the child would have a [cabbage]ty life, I'm not buyin it. I know in Ohio, probably other states, a mother can drop off a baby at any hospital, police, and I think fire station and say it is up for adoption no questions asked. Personally I believe that abortions should only be available to rape victims provided that they at least tried to obtain the morning after pill as an emergency contraception. But until that child could live outside its mother's body, logically it can't be considered alive. So logically it can be killing, but my beliefs don;t have to obey logic. I think it is morally wrong to kill something with the full potential for human life. Oops...I forgot the only other condition I condone abortion. Imminent threat to the mother's health.

I'm gay. I wonder if you can guess my opinion on the subject from that.

Arrest of 13-Year-Old for Writing on Desk Should Be Wake-up

I'm with everyone who thinks that we're not getting the whole story. On a slightly different note, I was not aware that the ACLU cared about the rights of non-minorities. Learn something new every day. -
The ps3 will come out on top acording to gamespot.
Nitramosma replied to sycosis5's topic in Off-Topic
I agree with everything but those two statements. Sqenix hasn't said they would release KH3 for that particular system, because it is doing bad, they are not sure; either Wii or PS3. Plus, Final Fantasy has been leaning with Wii and NDS, so that is unsure. All of the games for the PS3 are switching over to other consoled. I wish Sony would have not rushed the release... I know that Square-Enix has recently been leaning towards nintendo, but FFXIII has been in development almost specifically for the PS3 for uite a while. I don't think there's much chance of it switching now, if for no reason other than I expect it to be huge. I don't remember who, but one company said (of a game they are currently developing) that they have to go with the PS3 because of the larger disk capacity of Blu-Ray campared to HD-DVD. And I think FFXII will be a console seller regardless of the price. FF fanboys are notorious for wanting to play they newest FF they can get their hands on right on launch day.(I should know) Long story short, PS3's larger disk format will be a big advantage in the near future, what with the large ammount of space that "1337 graphix" seem to take up. After all, graphics seem to be all anyone is concerned with anymore. -

I prefer really old school. Abacus all the way. In all reality, the best calculator for you is, get this...it may be a shock....the one they suggest. If you wanna go high end, then just go all the way. TI-92's are one of the best calculators on the market. They only cost about $30-40 w/ shipping on eBay simply cause they are old. The only problem with them is that they are not allowed on pretty much any test (SAT, ACT and the like). -
I just got mine about two weeks ago. It's an excellent system. And as said before, the most un-enjoyable part of it was finding it. How I did it was made a list of local stores and their phone numbers that would might have it (Wal Mart, Target, Gamestop, Circuit City, and Best Buy for me), then I called them every morning until I found one that had it. Only took me about 3 days of calling. The remotes do eat batteries very fast so I would definitely suggest getting either rechargeable batteries or the recharging station. Someone said controllers were $55 for the wiimote and $26 for the nunchuk. That might be right in Canadian, but in the US the wiimote is only $40 (no more expensive than any other first party controller right now) and the nunchuk is about $20. Overall I've had a very enjoyable experience with it, and a major benefit it has over any other console right now is its reliability. Xbox 360s have a 30% failure rate as quoted by Microsoft, and Sony just isn't know for their quality in general. I'd say if you want a current gen console then that Wii is definitely your best choice right now.

Why on earth would you give them $11.25 instead of $10.25? If you hand them $11.25 that means you've given them a $10 bill (or 2 $5 bills) and a dollar bill and a quarter. Then they have to give you $6 change. What is the point of the extra dollar. Maybe thats why they look at you like you are weird.

You would be surprised what technology can do. You still don't get it do you? Yes there are many benefits but also many bad things that could happen. The cons with them outweigh the pros. Any hacker could potentialy gain access to the database and get all the information they need to use credit cards, identity theft, ect. Don't say that the government can make it so secure that nobody can hack it because if it was made by a human, it can be broken into by a human. Hackers have gained access to many government documents and it will not stop now, especially if you could gain a lot of money from it. Actually if it were programmed and encrypted with a quantum computer it is quite possible to make the encryption unbreakable except to a computer that knows the coding. And with a quantum computer it is quite possible that it could randomly generate the encryption from scratch for each individual in a fairly short amount of time. The one flaw is that we a years away from quantum computers. Umm...back to the drawing board as far as thwarting hackers.

Umm.....did you ever consider that some people might consider this a welcome change to carrying stuff around in their pockets? I personally hate wallets. That doesn't mean I'll jump in line for this, but if it turns out to be legitimate and widely used in a couple years, then yeah sign me up. Furthermore, just because you have this stuff stored on a chip in your arm doesn't mean you don't have it elsewhere. I could have my social security number tattooed onto my back, but that doesn't mean I cease to have that little card in with all my other important documents too.

My favorite park is Cedar Point cause I live like 45 minutes from it and have a season pass. My favorite ride would have to be either the Raptor at Cedar Point or the X-Flight at Geauga Lake.

Even if the army of 1000 is going to kill millions, that still doen't justify killing them. Unless of course they're attacking you. Then again, it's just a question of your ethics. I know that. But if you had the opportunity to do so, would you save 1,000,000..or spare 1,000? Technically, once you're faced with the decision to choose that..if you don't interfere, you're responsible for the deaths of the 1,000,000 people instead of the 1,000 that killed them. If you get yourself into that position... Well that sucks for you, lol. You can kill the 1000 people, ... and have killed 1000 people, or you can let them live, and be responsible for 1000000 deaths. Thats what you call a loose loose situation. For me the real question would come in if it was a situation in which I would have to kill those 1000, but only say 50 to 100 of them were plotting on killing say 10000 innocent people. Then the live are equal either way, but in one instance 10000 innocent people die and in the other 900-950 innocent people die. Then I would be in a moral quandry. Would I rather be directly responsible for the deaths of 900ish innocents or indirectly responsible for the deaths of 10000 innocent people. I think I would just blow myself up. Solves the problem for me.

I just want to be remembered. I don't need a huge lasting legacy. I don't need everyone in the world to know my name. I don't care at all, but I don't want to be forgotten. I'd like to make a positive impact, but when it all comes down to it, I just don't want to be another soul passed over forever lost to everyone. My biggest fear in life is that no one will know/care about me in death. Is that pathetic or what?

You're comparing the ability to write a cheque to actually saving someones life? Ah yes, and who has killed more people. Hitler or a front line German WW2 soldier? exactly, someone else made a similar statement one the first page. You would do a lot more good by signing a $100 million dollar check for malaria than jumping in a lake and saving some kids life, it's pure logic. Why do you have to jump on the subway tracks just to be respected as a life saver? Because there are plenty of things you can do to help with your time that could never be done with money. Mother Teresa didn't just give away all off her material possessions, she also actively strived to make the world a better place for the less fortunate. Once again I'm not saying that one is better that the other, but you can't say for certain that the millions (billions?) that Gates has donated has done more good than Mother Teresa or Gandhi. Uh yes I can, it has done more, and it has saved more lives, also you are forgetting that he started the gates foundation, must be the largest charity in the world? which he is running, and he makes sure the money goes to the right people for the right things. Can you prove to me that Gate's money has saved more lives than the direct impact of Gandhi's civil disobedience? No you can't, so I suggest you stop saying that it has.

Just wanted to say something on this aspect. I'm not impugning Mr. Gate's charity efforts, but in all likelyhood he does spend more on luxury than anyone else. I saw a TV special on his house. It was awesome. He has sensors in every room that detect not only when someone enters, but who enters, then the house automatically changes the temp, lights, etc to that person's preference. I'm not saying his contributions are anything to scoff at, but he certainly did spend his money on himself before he ever gave massive amounts to charity.

Do you believe? What's Behind your Government

Not to be mean, but are you actually saying that since it doesn't look like a planned demolition it is probable (or at least plausible) that it is? :-s
