Incorrect; I made the mistake of killing Tzhaar (8 to be precise,) after finishing caves and killing Jad. Tzhaar in no way affect your task xp, task numbers - only monsters inside the fight cave count in the slightest. Aha, I've just remembered - I popped into the caves to check if they gave xp & went to round 3 before exiting the caves to get kitted out for my assault on Jad. These kills must have counted against me

If it helps, my 1st task from Kuradal was TzHaar's & I upgraded to 280. I then proceded to kill a few normal TzHaars to get some charms, thinking 280 is plenty of kills to allow me to get to Jad during task. I then checked & noticed that when you upgrade to the 'special' task you do not receive any slayer xp for killing the normal TzHaars. At this point I went into Fight cave to kill Jad, however, to my dismay I killed the final 360 & then saw the message 'Task Completed you have been awarded 18 points etc'. I was so shocked that I was not going to kill Jad during task I missed my pray & got 2 hit :) I'm therefore guessing that any kills on normal ThZaar whilst on 280 task count as kills however don't earn any Slayer Xp.

Hellhounds - Dull & No drops Greater Demons - poor xp & single combat, frequented by low levels taking too long to kill Black Demons - had these blocked prior to Chaos Tunnels & haven't unblocked yet (may well do) Tasks Skipped Every so often I cant be bothered to do the following tasks: Warped Terrorbirds Bloodvelds Kalphites Waterfiends Everything else I do :) Everyone will give you their own personal opinion, you just need to decide what you enjoy & what you depsise. My average XP from Lapalok / Duradel is about 21k per task, however this includes Abby Demon & Dark Beast tasks, which are decent xp & you cant do these yet. I'd suggest that at 82 Slayer you should be getting an average of about 17k from the tasks you can do. Divide your XP remaining by 17k & that will give you an estimate of the number of tasks you need to do. Remember though, Task XP varies hugely & this will ultimately dictate how many tasks you will need to complete.

Awesome achievement. I'm trying to level Herby at the moment & getting right disheartened, I've only managed 7 levels in 3 days (68-75), so 99 seems a hell of a long way to go. My main problem is buying the ingredients - I'm guessing you did a lot of Harralander Tar, which saves the hassle of buying vials? If you've got any tips I'd love to hear them :)

The problem with Rune Wiki is it assumes all of the ingredients are able to be purchased - at this point in time, quite a few are not. The same with Vials - I've also tried to get empty vials to humidify & cant get these either.

I'm struggling with my Herby training at the moment - I've used all of my herb collection buit up over years of slaying & MTK & now have to resort to the GE to get the ingredients. My question is what is the most efficient potion to make at the moment, please bear in mind that both primary & secondary indgredients have got to be brought. I'd like to level as quick as I can, however, don't really want it to be a bank breaker (I am willing to spend about 30m more). Siggy is now wrong, I'm lvl 73. At the moment I'm doing Super Def pots, as these seem to be the most cost effective, although potions are worthless at the end. Anyone got any other ideas of what I can do? Also, how do you get Water Filled Vials now - I'm having to resort to Shilo running at the moment, as can't buy on GE. I'll also lend SGS for them, but most people don't have enough vials. No Safespots - if you range them from behind rock, they will mage you. I suppose you could set cannon up & then run round corner to hide, that would probably hit multiples, but imo not worth the hassle. They are a good task to 'AFK' & the XP is very good - although will take you a while to complete.

Don't remember seeing guide, but in reality you don't need one. Wear Prossy gear & if poss wield SGS for pray bonuses. Pray Melee & just hack away at them. I tend to take a couple of bunyips & only pray melee when my HP is less than 50, using Bunyip & SGS to heal up. This saves quite a few prayer points. If you've done new quest you can add Temple of Light to the teleport Crystal, which saves you having to wear mourner gear.

Incorrect: You can cannon in Evil Chicken lair - it's still single combat but this actually helps, speeds the tasks up no end. Set up cannon to north west of pillar in the middle, can grab 3 Dragons then.

1. Yes - they are a good task to cannon 2. No single Combat 3. Very good slayer xp Beware when cannoning, they will use Mage attack on you until you can melee them.

Until you can get a Bunyip then Guthans is a Slayers Best Friend. Like one of the previous posters said, I'd wear D Skirt/Legs & Rune Plate - changing into Guthans to heal when required. This is a cheap way of making the Guthans last, albeit at the expense of 4 invent slots. I was a 'poor' slayer up until Lvl 83 & this was achieved before summoning came out. I remember vividly spending all my cash on Guthans (9.7m) & hoping for a decent drop before I had to recharge, luckily I got another pair of D legs & sold for 2.2m (back in the day :)) As for gear, I'd still use Whip & Rune Defender, with Whip on shared XP. it was suggested previously you wanted to get 99 Str, but I couldn't see you saying that!!

Yes, I've done all the quests. My point is why isn't it showing on the minimap from February 2009? I completed Underground Pass about 2 years ago. If I've been completely stupid please close post.

Admittedly I haven't needed to kill Dark Beasts for a while but got task today & noticed the new passageways to north of 1st cave. I've posted 2 screenies - the 1st from today & 2nd from February 2009 - the passages are clearly visible on the minimap. I've done all the quests & don't remember ever using these passages before - could these be something to do with MEP3? If these 'new' passages have been here for a while, can someone let me know what they relate to.

Whilst I agree with you statement to a point - I'd love to use my 99 Slayer to obtain an untradeable drop that enabled me to 'enhance' an existing piece of equipment or just obtain a drop that was actually useful to me (maybe brawlers outside of PVP!!), I'm also in the camp that if you've spent time, effort & money training hard there should be some form of financial rewards involved. After all, this is the way most of us generate wealth to spend on other things (veiled dig at merchanters). So, I feel the content reward should be an element of both player & financial rewards.

Actually, they have given the best advice. Its a bit rich calling people jackasses, if you don't know or can't be bothered to give an answer don't bother replying. At that Slayer level the vast majority of the tasks given by Sumona & Lapalok are very good lvl 3 clue droppers. There is no point camping at Hellhounds or Greaters just to try & get a clue - the time would be better spent hunting for lvl 3 clues whilst on tasks, maximising XP. In the long run getting the Slayer XP will be more beneficial, particularly if you've got the XP whilst doing something you wanted ie. Clue Hunting. No-one is saying you have to complete the task before doing the clue, I've had 3 clues from a Aberrant Spectre task before.

You have either turned into a huge troll or lack a complete undertstanding of the basic concept of work = rewards. In my opinion, if you spend the time & effort (& cash) working for something that gives you a competitive advantage it should be allowed anywhere. No-one is being forced to train (in this case) herblore, however, if they chose to do so they should benefit from the advantages that this provides. In the same way, I could now rant on RSOF that the ability to cast Vengeance during PVP should be banned, as I haven't spent the time, effort & cost getting my mage level to 94. However, I don't because good luck to them, it gives them a huge advantage over me & I know the risks. In a similar vein, the last time I PVP'd I was 2 Hit (!!!) by a guy wielding a Vesta Longsword - my intial thought was Damn that hurt (& cost me several million), but then thought about it & came to the conclusion that if I wanted to do that I could buy a Vesta Long myself, the same way now I could train herblore to use the potions. It's been said many times on this topic - Jagex should stop pandering to the lazy & allow people to use ALL the skills they have trained to their own advantage. It should then encourage others to train whatever skill they need in order to better themselves & redress the balance.

It will depend on which Master your 'friend' is using. I will assume that they will be using Duradel / Lapalok, as over a period of time they give best XP tasks. The average XP from these tasks is around 13k so therefore from 67 - 85 will take approx 208 tasks. My advise is always use the highest master you can - none of this use Sumona then switch to Duradel / Lapalok every 10th, 50th etc rubbish.

I did exactly the same, went from 65 to 70 Agility to allow me to go to Sara GWD. For me, training Agility was really dull & time consuming !!

Goraks are a cannonable task -this will speed your killing up no end. With regards to the armour - I used Guthans & switched Slayer Helm & SGS when needing to heal - they can hit quite hard.

The best Tree I've found for building up EP is the Yew south of Varrock - still in hotzone. Its also surrounded by Oaks & Willows further south. Not too many Pj'ers come here (at the moment!!!)

100% EP & 1st Kill - used 22% up :) Better than any drop I had before todays update.
