  1. where? More detail to the ground! Its shouldn't be just a solid plane, make it bumpy and rocky, like real ground. Hair needs more detail and colours. Some of the linework on the building needs cleaning. Also, a bit of highlights and shadows on the bricks would be nice, giving it the feeling that each brick is extruded from the wall. Right now it looks more like wallpaper than bricks, sorry! At a first glance, it looks like a little kid behind the house is checking out a blonde women in tight pink clothing and a short skirt. :? Anyways, its looking great for a start, and as with all wips, it just needs a little touching up
  2. I think it was Chicken who asked a long time ago, Mod Cloughie actually took the time to register at Tip.it (or was it rv? :?) and post stating that its accepted. He then replied to Chicken's private message on http://www.runescape.com telling him that he had posted on the forums saying its allowed. But yea... If you want to be safe, don't sell sigs. :P EDIT: I just checked my message center, here was the most recent reply I could find about sigmaking (I had asked them a few times over the years). Its old, but I don't think they would have changed it.
  3. If you painted that with only brushes.. Then congrats :D Not pixel, but looks like a decent effort into digital painting. Why is it only raining inside the cave? And too many strokes/outlines. Maybe good for pixels, but not for this type.. :P
  4. The mage is probably the only thing he ripped, if he ripped anything. So yea.. Nice job on the mage's linework (not very clean, but its a good rough sketch), whoever made it, but the rest of the sig just goes downhill from there.
  5. Thanks! :D I appreciate this and the other comments. And I've taken a break from the regular 3D abstracts for a little bit. I'm attempting to learn vector (Illustrator) and digital painting (corel painter). So I hope nobody was expecting that walkthrough anytime soon.. :P
  6. Well, the three best pixlers at tip.it (no doubt, if you want pixels they are the best people to go for) are Zilben, Fox Red/LordLiquid, and Shaw. Although they don't browse very often and will only come along if the offer is good. And I think shaw doesn't come here anymore..? :( If you don't want to pay that much... MXM or TJ are ok choices. :)
  7. Nice pixel! Great improvement. I like the shading and rain dropping off him. You should vary the rain a little more, make it look less computer generated (removing a few drops here and there, maybe shifting their positions by a couple pixels).
  8. Grunge (well, by grunge I mean the common sig stuff) is also abstract. So I don't see how it can't be classified as a grunge sig. Anyways cool sig nad. Might look better with some highlights and a cool blue colour, and the text might also look nice if it had some colour in it. Its fine right now though, nice and grungey.
  9. ha? I don't get it.

Thats great, but the rain effect (?) in the background needs to go. Why is the image so dark if the man on the left is glowing from light...? Nice brushing, keep working on it :)
  11. Same here :) Everyone has to start somewhere...
  12. There is a fine line between constructive c&c and flaming/discouraging a beginner. Harsh critiques are needed for the artist to improve, but flame or discouragement is just useless and shouldn't be posted at all. And there is something I can do about it. Report you to an admin or moderator. :) About the sig: Not too bad for a start, but I wouldn't call it "Pure ownage". :P Try doodling on paper and then try to imitate what you've drawn on paper with your computer. It seems to boost my spirits and also gives me a head start on the work.
  13. Thanks for the suggestion, I'll try to fix that up for my final. :D I'm still learning with text work, as you can see.
  14. No, the pixelness was not an accident. But if it doesn't look good, I can fix it easily. I thought it added a little character, but I was waiting for a second opinion :P Lorem ipsum is just filler. I think it is just a fake language adapted off of latin and some other languages. I don't know much about it though, I just like using it to fill up space :D
  15. pure Photoshop 7 -- BANNER NOT COMPLETE. Don't bug me about it :P Feel free to post suggestions/questions/c&c. They will both fit to your monitor size, and shouldn't be as wide as you see below. [ SPLASH ] [ SITE ] - I will probably end up removing the inner shadow on the 3 boxes.
  16. use http://www.imageshack.us Instead of taking the Thumbnail Link, use the Direct Link and put tags around it for posting it here. As for animations, Imageready (should come with photoshop) works fine. Flash is also great, but its better suited for movies or clips, or interactive games etc, and if all you want to do is make a small animated GIF (sig/av) there is no point in getting it. Cool fonts would usually come from http://www.dafont.com/
  17. There are a lot of sites.. try http://www.flashkit.com http://www.pixel2life.com http://www.google.com
  18. Gradient shading. Grainy armour. No definite light source... Needs a lot of work.
  19. Very cool, but different angles would be a lot cooler, like in your current sig.
  20. DA's definition of pixel art: Looks more like a strange type of Oekaki art or something. But even that is pushing it. Anyways I like the thick cartoony effect, even if it isn't a true pixel. The white blur thing in the middle ruins it all though :(
  21. Creative idea. A lot more pleasing to look at than the regular meaningless blood-crazed pixels these days. :) One problem with it, though, are those arrow shooting slits (the black crosses). The one on the left is cut off as if its on the corner (which is an unusual place to put one, and isn't matched with the placement of the other. Good luck on it, hope it turns out well.
  22. What does an abyssal demon look like.. You mean the armour is supposed to make him/her look fat? Or its supposed to have a red glow on it for no apparent reason?
  23. Text could be improved, and the spinners don't fit. Very cool though :) Neat and simple.
  24. I dunno.. the background looks the worst. The guy on the ground looks steamrolled, and the person beside him looks too manly to be wearing a skirt. (his arms and legs are skinny, but he looks really buff in the torso, not sure what to make of that) The blood colour (and the amount in the area) is really unrealistic. And how was he cut in half in the first place? That little blade looks so dull that it could barely make a scratch, let alone rip through his armour, his bones, and the rest of his body. I don't get the lighting either. Where is the red ambience on the guy's/girl's armour coming from? Or all this white stuff on his arms and legs? The cheesy text and strangely shaped border (the right side of the border is bigger than the left) are also not looking that great. Looks messy, as if its just a rough job.
