How do YOU dress?
Thongs is an Australian term for sandals/flip flops. It is pretty hilarious though taken out of context.

Nice work. I think the biggest thing you need to work on right now are faces, they seem to be either too long (like the queen) or too fat (like "follow your heart"). It seems like some of your unfinished ones show you getting better at that though, the scorpion king looks to be really promising. Great job on the Avatar one too, good colors.

Battlefield Discussion Thread
Aside from dedicated servers what are the other PC-only features, you know? It's sad that we have to use the idea of dedicated servers as a marketing tool now though, lol. Still happy to have them though. Dedicated servers are a big feature though. I love being able to pick my own server to play on. Especially if I'm feeling like playing with specific rules (like knife fights) or on a specific map. The PC version has been given specific attention to provide the best experience. I also thought that the PC version would support 64 players, but after looking into it, it turns out that it only supports 32 players. Oh no I agree, dedicated servers are great. It's just that they've been a staple for over 10 years now so it's funny to see it being used as such a "plus". (due to MW2 craping up PC)

I actually pre-ordered this yesterday. Pirating MW2 made me realize how much I want to play a good PC FPS in that sort of setting (TF2 is awesome, but is getting old). So yeah really looking forward to it. A heads up to but the beta for PC starts on Jan 28th if you pre-order it over steam.

League of Legends
Posted about it a while back, but LoL is simply a watered down version of DoTA/HoN. It's easier, needs less tactics (no denying, can't tower dive, less heroes overall [40 vs the 60 HoN currently has]) and is overall a worse experience (P2P shop in a competitive game style such as MOBA? yeah right.). If you like LoL I really urge you to try HoN, it's better in every conceivable way. Really, LoL may as well just be a deathmatch compared to HoN. Also I should say that HoN has a significant amount of tournaments for cash, with an alienware tournament coming up that will be very large. www.honcast.com www.gamereplays.org You can watch some shoutcasts of HoN matches there. Just felt I should throw the other (better) alternative out there. The biggest difference is once HoN is out of beta it will cost $30 to buy, but that also means you don't need to buy any heroes or new heroes when they come out.

What movie(s) did you last see?
Saw LEGION in the theater, friends dragged me to it. Terrible movie, don't see it. It's like if you made a [cabbage]ty zombie flick with Jesus in it.

What Game(s) Did You Last Get and What Are You Playing?
Just pre-ordered Mass Effect 2 and Battlefield: Bad Company 2 for PC over steam. Also got a gamefly account so my first game from there is going to be Silent Hill: Shattered Memories.

Why is this tolerated?
Just throwing this out there but in a lot of online game communities (HoN, Lineage II private servers, few others) there is a lot of "hate" against BR's (Brazilians) and Russians. (There was a "polish zerg" too on one L2 server that everyone hated, won't go into that though). There's a big conflict between Turks and everyone else in Silkroad Online. (no, I don't play that game anymore, but that's basically all I remember - the public chat being spammed by "stfu turks" followed by Turkish rambling) And Adrenal, in some FPSs I've played, there's a lot of hate towards Mexicans and Brazilians since they lag a lot. D: People make (negative) remarks about nationalities all the time. Often jokes. But you probably don't pay much attention to them unless they're about America/Americans since they're not directed towards you. Heh. To be honest I find it a lot of fun in an MMO to have such an animosity between countries. It feels like some sort of war, and I have tons of stories about going up against the Brazilian/Polish/Russian zerg on lineage II servers :P. In HoN though people hate them because, in all honesty, a lot of players from Brazil are just not very good at the game, at all. Coupled with the fact that they can hardly understand you (and vice-versa) and its not fun :P.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2
Yeah you're right. I have so much fun when I spawn and get popped by some guys Chopper gunner with unlimited ammo. Balance is fun because it is fair. At the very least in CoD4 the most "overpowering" killstreak you had was an airstrike. It was solid at times, sure, but it popped once and that was it. These new killstreaks are like having a continuous airstrike, capable of being precision aimed (with thermal of course) and last for a number of minutes. I do disagree though and say death streaks (maybe not painkiller) were a solid idea, that is for a "pub" style game. Copycat was probably the one death streak that was actually a good idea, as it lets you get a chance to give a better weapon a shot and hopefully do better, or at least relieve a bit of frustration. Really though, MW2 has just turned into this game where everyone has super powers. You have people who cannot be heard, you have people who can lunge 10 meters and one shot kill stab someone. You have people capable of running around with 2 large shotguns and fire them with minimal recoil and reload them incredibly quickly. You have people who can fall off of a 100 foot story building and not take damage. You have people who can magically get new weapons and "setups" whenever they want, and those people also apparently [cabbage] bullets because they are able to have a full, new clip every time they do switch. You also have soldiers who are able to command a goddamned nuke. Aside from that the game has the worst spawning system in the history of FPS's. You had better spawn protection in Team Fortress classic. You had better spawn protection in the original unreal tournament.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2
Heh it's far past Halo 3. I mean at least Halo stayed focus on the shooting and any vehicles were balanced (fairly, never really played 3). MW2 is just ridiculous in so many ways. Hell just the decision to have a shotgun as a sidearm, I mean what?

I mean sure it does seem like hating America is a pretty cool thing to do currently so it might be why you see it a lot. I don't see it as actually being harmful though.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2
It still amuses me that Infinity Ward is completely unable to prevent pirates from playing on their "secure" network. Sure, we've only been able to keep pirates away from dedicated servers for over 10 years now (CD key check, lol) but IW still isn't quite grasping the basics. For those who don't know with 1.0.175 and now 1.0.177 apparently it was thought that IW had fixed the issue of pirates being able to play online. However someone just found a workaround and, while I won't post the entire thing (it is simple as [bleep] to do) it pretty much surmounts to being "offline" on steam friends... I mean, really? haha. Not sure why I bothered with the work around though, the game was fun to [bleep] around with a bit for a couple of weeks but it's gotten stale and the [cabbage] amount has just gotten higher. I still stand by that having such overpowering killstreaks are just stupid. Sure, rewarding a player a UAV or an ammo drop or something for killing a number of players, that's cool and fine. However rewarding someone a huge [wagon] chopper with thermal sights and unlimited ammunition in what surmounts to, at most, a 16 player game is just goddamned [developmentally delayed]ed haha. Still I felt it was at least good to give MW2 a fair trial (even if it was a pirated, free one) and I still stand by my convictions I started with -- it's not a great game. There are concepts that are solid but it's mostly just a cluster**** of bad ideas and unmemorable maps. So while it was refreshing to switch paces in an FPS for a while (last few I've played a lot were TF2 and UT3) that is all it really was. I think I'll just wait until FA:S and BF:BC2 are out.

The official World of Warcraft thread.
On Proudmoore there was a Warlock named Taijutsu I think it was.. When he was not in Arena, he would be in trade calling everyone a scrub, telling people to l2p, etc. Someone even made a guild to honor him, <IDKMYBFFTAI> or something. Anyways, hi WoWers. Where's Nadril? 6 months down the track and no intent of going back to the game. Feels good man. Too busy not playing WoW.

Archer (TV)
http://www.fxnetworks.com/shows/originals/archer/ Archer is a new animated TV show on FX created by Adam Reed, who is known for working on shows such as Frisky Dingo and Sealab 2021. The main character, Archer, is also voiced by H. Jon Benjamin who is most noted for his role as Coach McGuirk in Home Movies. "Set at the International Secret Intelligence Service (ISIS), suave master spy Sterling Archer deals with global espionage, a domineering mother/boss, his agent ex-girlfriend, and a less-than-masculine code name - "Duchess".[6]" The show also has an art style which closly mimics the one Frisky Dingo uses and, to be honest, I love it. At any rate I saw the premiere 2 episodes a few nights ago and was very impressed. It has the same sort of humor that sealab 2021 and Frisky Dingo had, which is awesome because Frisky Dingo is one of my favorite animated series. Personally I'm really glad to see Adam Reed get some work on a large network like FX, he's a really funny guy and Jon Benjamin is a perfect voice for Archer. Did anyone else manage to catch this? If so what did you think? It shows on FX Thursday nights at 10 (EST I believe).
