  1. I wonder if it'll be a similar art style to RuneScape. You know the somewhat cartoonish, colourful graphics. If it is I'm thinking how will that translate into a sci-fi themed game targetted at more mature players. I also remember reading something said by the CEO of Jagex, Geoff Iddison about how although implementing micro-transactions (That's paying for items or abilities in simple terms) would not work for RuneScape in it's current state they may consider it for future releases. Does this mean that MechScape might possibly have a system of buying in-game things with real world money?
  2. Guess you won't know until you give it a go ;) I'm hoping they do away with the "skills" system used in RuneScape and go for a more "free" system. Difficult to describe...
  3. I'll copy a post I made on the MechScape world forums regarding MechScape at E3: Very interested in the more complex gameplay idea.
  4. How can you pass valid judgement on things that aren't even released yet? You're just an anti-Jagex pessimist. It seems like a large chunk of the people who play this game are like you, which makes me wonder why you people play it if, to you, Jagex appear to be useless. I think, if you were in their position, you would find it difficult to please millions of players including over 1 million paying subscribers.
  5. It's fake. The "Underground Farm" never existed. See http://z11.invisionfree.com/Gower_Archive/index.php?showtopic=187&st=0last for details. A brief overview of what's in the link though: The "Underground Farm" was an invention of Fook A Ji in order to scam cut gems from people. He told them that fi they used a cut gem on a tree in Lumbridge Swamp then they would be taken to the farm. When it didn't work he asked them for their gem so he could try it. The rumour did, however, inspire the idea for the Lost City quest by Paul Gower. So the guy above me is lying =D>
  6. RuneScape isn't broken so it doesn't need fixing. Although I do think, with a little revision, your Bounty Hunter looting idea could work out.
  7. Yeah a lot of coverage seems to say that Nintendo's offerings were disappointing as were Sony's somewhat. Microsoft seemed ot have the edge there. Anyway back on topic... Anyone see this mistake (In the first link posted above): Jagex are UK-based. Oh and check this out: Legal RWT ftw?
  8. I believe that Jagex pulled out of E3 last week so they wouldn't have been there. EDIT: I'm wrong it seems. Don't believe all that you read.
  9. So set your private chat to friends only.
  10. Looks like it might be part of a series due to a large 'I' on the spine.
  11. I think F2P will get the entire HD experience including fullscreen. Currently F2P players are able to start the client to check compatibility with display options and full screen. Why would they allow this if they weren't planning on giving F2P full screen mode as well?
  12. The free version on the official website doesn't contain all the creature parts, just a limited set.
  13. At what point did it say it was gong to be that large. There will obviously be an increase in the initial loading time (Just like there is now when you load the game up after clearing the cache) but they've said they've kept the texture size down as low as possible. Oh and I don't think it will be a separate client, I believe it will still be browser based.
  14. I'm guessing that it's that cross 'X' button in the very top right hand corner. I don't understand why they created an entire new "level" just to have stuff under the water. I'm sure you could get the same effect for less effort just by placing models and such below the water level in their mapping software.
  15. That's stupidly too long. 10 minutes would be fine. If Jagex wanted to release a hotfix or a quick patch they wouldn't want to wait 30 minutes to apply it. Especially if it was a serious exploit.
  16. That wouldn't make sense. Single combat areas only allow one player to be attacking one monster. If you have a familiar there attacking with you thats two things attacking one monster which isn't single combat. :wall:
  17. Maybe they've changed the blackmark value for certain offences. Some might have been raised the majority lowered which would explain why a lot of people have lost black marks whilst some have remained the same or gained some.
  18. They did do some maintinanace on the offence system this week. Maybe this was it. Not sure why they would do this though. I think trying to please members seems a bit too... I can't think of the word but it doesn't seem very JAGeX. They're well known for standing by their punishments. Doesn't affect me as I had 0 blackmarks to begin with so unless I've gone into negative blackmarks I think I'm OK.
  19. Looks good but I think it will be the first of a few Summoning changes. They may make more in February. And look, posted by the big man of JAGeX himself, Andrew Gower :P
  20. I think this guy needs to go back to Biology lessons =D>
  21. I read on the RSOF (Great source but still maybe worth checking out) that Giant Granite Crabs drop 10 Gold Charms at a time. I don't know the frequency fo the drops but it sounds quite frequent. They're found in the new Chaos Tunnels.
  22. F7 is used to open the Familiar/Pet interface I assume. It's only available if you have a familiar summoned or a pet out at the time.
  23. Summoning vids pl0x. It would be nice to a couple of videos of Summoning in action for the F2P'ers here :D Anyone care to take up the challenge? :P
