  1. It's funny that Jagex has changed it because of those who can't read properly. On a side note, "black demon" means exactly the same as that racist term when translated literally into Cantonese. Post this on the RSOF and get 10k "omg racist Duradel!!!111one111" replies.
  2. I don't understand why people assume you want "respect" whenever you go for a level 99 skill. I trained my firemaking skill to level 99 because I think the emote is kinda cool. It's no more nooby than trying to get a santa/p hat/whatever because you like how they look. And the fact that the cape has decent stats is a bonus. (Especially when it's trimmed now)
  3. Worst update upon release: Summoning batch 1. The timer and having to refresh your familiar were the biggest problems, the cost made it available to only the richer players, and most of the familiars were not that useful. Fortunately the release of summoning batch 2 and pouch-swapping fixed most of the issues. However, I still refuse to use combat familiars as they don't react fast enough to my liking. Worst update even after fixing: Treasure trail changes. Frankly, who wants to get flatpacks and nails? It just brings more junks into the game. The new "special" items aren't that appealing, and their initial GE prices are way off, which results in the need to junk-trade them. (I know GE is the root of the problem, but that's no a 2008 update)
  4. Dragon drops have never failed to surprise me. They are possible drops from a lot of monsters, but none of them has a high drop rate(except boots). So when I kill those monsters I don't expect dragon drops, and when I do get them I feel that I'm very lucky. On the contrary, players can always get god wars/barrows items if they try hard enough, so the feeling of surprise is not there like in the case of dragon drops.
  5. How much money you have depends on what you like to do in the game. For the self-sufficient type of players like myself, money has little use unless I want to train one of the money drain skills. It's quite annoying for people to make assumptions about your wealth. One of my clanmates lost his AGS in BH and begged me to give him some money, because I was like 10 levels higher than he was. Heck, I wished I had an AGS to lose to begin with.(I had about half of the sword's worth in gp and items at that time)
  6. While construction is not meant to be profitable, this nerf is a total overkill. Let's sell what use is left for this feature. Who would bother to make high level flatpacks if they only get back 10% of the GE price? I'm sure the answer is no one. It'd be much better if you can get back a set percentage of the material cost, like in the case of swapping pouches for spirit shards. The lower level flatpacks would still make you lose money even at the max GE prices, and you have to sell them unnoted. This may let you get a little money back, but you will waste a lot of time selling them, so it doesn't really make training construction cheaper/easier. So getting rid of those "junk" flatpacks from TT is the only use for it. Yea, it is so very rewarding to get a few thousands of gp without clogging up your GE slots, after you have completed a (supposedly) hard part of a (supposedly) high level achievement diary. (The difficulty of the diary is disappointing, but that's another topic for another thread)
  7. It's a bit sad to see Duradel die. I hated Duradel's tasks, so I went to Sumona most of the time. I'll remember the last assignment he gave me: 151 kurasks. Hope the heroes can really rest in peace and won't come back as undeads in the next GM quest.
  8. From my first 2 kills I got a rune mace and a rune sword. Plus an evil chicken  . I wasn't able to screenie that though. Who in the right mind would macro there really?
  9. You can spend a charge to change it into a useful form again. And the morphic tool starts out with 10 charges. 10x100x30.5 bonus smithing xp is pretty decent for something so easy to get.
  10. For most non-combat skills, my definition of "high level" is the level at which you can no longer unlock new abilities by raising it. For example: 85 herblore. For combat skills(not combat level) I think 90+ is pretty reasonable.
  11. Morphic tool testing results Note: morphic tool is the one which you can choose what it turns into, the volatile tool may give different results. So far I've just tested it on smithing(steel to addy), fletching(maple to magic) and fishing(sharks only) because the other forms of the tool are reportedly bugged. Smithing (hammer) I tried to smith 20 bars of each type of steel, mithril and adamantite into bolts. My smithing level is 81 at the time of testing in case that matters. The hammer lasts 100 uses. And the results are as follows: Mith: 80.5xp/bar, +30.5xp/bar compared to 50xp/bar, % increase: 61% Steel: 68xp/bar, +30.5 compared to 37.5/bar, % increase: 81% Addy: 93xp/bar, +30.5 compared to 62.5xp/bar, % increase: 49% I didnt have enough bronze and iron bars to test, and I don't have the level to test it on runite, but apparently the hammer grants a fixed +30.5xp/bar regardless of the type of metal. Fletching (knife) I tried to cut 20 logs of maple, yew and magic into longbow(u). Fletching level is 90 in case this is relevant. The knife lasts 100 uses. And the results are as follows: Maple: 86.5xp/log, +28.2xp/log compared to 58.3xp/log, % increase: 48% Yew: 111.5xp/log, +36.5xp/log compared to 75xp/log, % increase: 49% Magic: 136.1xp/log, +44.6xp/log compared to 91.5xp/log, % increase: 49% The sacred clay knife seems to grant a bonus of +48-49% to the xp you gain. Fishing (harpoon) Ive only tested this on sharks, and you can wield the harpoon like the barbed one. I caught 100 sharks before the harpoon turns back into the basic form. Fishing level is 87 at the time of testing. Heres the result: Shark: 121.8ea, +11.8xp ea compared to 110xp ea, % increase: 11% No conclusion can be drawn before I can test it on swordies and tunas. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ By the way, does anyone know the weight of the sacred clay armors? And how does the class of clay affect the runes you craft in the game?
  12. A d med from fire giants, about a month before GE was released. And it was the first item I sold in GE.
  13. During the invasion, if you read the museum display case in which the shield was stored, you'll find something pretty amusing.
  14. It's kinda funny to see some level 100+ asking how to mill flour and make a pot. I was amazed that I still remember how to do these lowly tasks.
  15. How is junk trading like using a bot? People still need to spend time on their characters to create junk (as a by-product of skilling), which is completely legitimate. If the GE is a perfect trading platform, people won't need to junk trade. Too bad it isn't the case. The GE updates on a daily basis as far as I know, and one day is 24 hours on planet Earth.
  16. I've done a little test on cabinet thieving, and the possible loots are(the frequency of getting each item may be a bit subjective): bronze/iron/steel scimitar (annoyingly common) steel longsword (annoyingly common) rune scimitar (rare, only got 1 so far) iron/gold bars (common) mith bars (uncommon) 300gp (uncommon) cooked shark (uncommon) striped pirate shirt (annoyingly common) eyepatch (common) pirate boots (common) uncut gems(up to diamond, common-rare) level 2 clues (rare, got 2 of them so far, and they only take one "checkpoint" to finish)
  17. I'm not going to spend anything unless I actually like it. Getting level 30 should be enough to see if I like a skill and it probably won't cost a lot.
  18. Monday has not ended yet, we still have a slim chance to see summoning today. This recovery system update is one that no one hopes to try out.
  19. I'd love to have one for Morytania, but it wasn't even a choice in the poll :(
  20. Ork. It is the only revenant that can attack me in low level wildy, and the only one that has ever killed me so far.
  21. AFAIK, people in China and Japan drink tea, too. If it were from Japan, we would be able to eat raw fish. If it were from the US, we'd be getting guns a long time ago. If it were from Scotland, men would not be afraid to wear skirts.
  22. That's so true. I've seen lots of people throwing away good seeds like sweetcorn, whiteberry and mid-level herbs at the master farmers. I'd like to thank them for sponsoring me to get 80+ farming in half the time as I expected.
  23. A good reason not to be too excited about summoning.
  24. Farming. It always makes me laugh when people call this boring but spend the whole day doing repetitive skills like fletching. And while it is a semi-buyable skill, I can still beat my friends (some of whom are 10x richer than I am) in it.
  25. Asking for money is not very impressive in any case. :shame: Try not to be affected by the show-offs, it's not worth it. As long as you enjoy your gaming experience, who cares about how much money the next guy has?
