An Elitist's View on Crashing
My point was it is rarely a problem, so it isn't "prevalent" like you said it was. Yes it happens, but to say it's prevalent means it's a constant problem, I never experienced this constant problem. I'm confused by your lazy-slaying comment, I never said being lazy was nice, I'm not a lazy slayer, I just haven't experienced the same problems as you apparently, because I was almost never slowed down on my tasks. As for stealing TImmy's spirit mage spot, there's plenty of spots open, and even in the lowest populated worlds, you rarely clear all 4-5 mages near the boss room with a steal titan. There comes a point when you're no longer being efficient, you're just being an ass. (dust devils aren't in the Pollnivneach well btw, I was talking about the chaos tunnel ones) No, there's actually pretty fierce competition for spots on the high populations worlds, which is what I (and all other efficient slayers) use. Thus, competition is very prevalent. Maybe you're just slow, but I can consistently clear the spirit mages on a high population world with a steel titan. All it takes is one other person there to slow me down. About my lazy-slaying comment: I am implying that you are not an efficient slayer. Seeing as you even brought up low population worlds as being an option, I'm probably right.

No, it's not a loose term. The best way to make money is, by definition, the elite way to make money. How silly. "Best way to make money" is subjective. "Fastest and most effective" is not. Now, lets end this before you make me have to actually try, mmk? Guess you're gonna have to try. Sorry, let me clarify my point: The best, fastest, and most effective ways to make money in Runescape are to solo TDs with a steel titan or solo DKs with a cannon. Solo Graardor and solo Armadyl are close seconds. The most consistent money comes from solo Graardor and solo DKs, but dragon claw drops are common enough for TDs to be considered somewhat consistent (though still up to luck). Seeing as how these are the best, fastest, and most effective ways to make money, they are the elite ways to make money. This is an irrefutable and nonnegotiable fact. EDIT: Merchanting not included.

Ironically, I was flaming people who cry about crashing. Most people do hop a few times. Solo MHing is the best way to make money in Runescape. Ergo, "elite moneymaking methods." So, yes, I will keep telling myself that. Nice argument. Because Graardor and DKs are the best "consistent" money there is. If you get unlucky at Armadyl, sucks for you. If you get unlucky at Bandos, you still walk away with a couple million each trip. EDIT: I've addressed your original post entirely. Can you show me where Sseli flamed anyone?

Where did he flame anyone? I've seen multiple people flame him, but not the other way around. Please, enlighten us. First deal with my main point, then I'll deal with yours. Don't focus on one error / mistake / whatever. I really don't want to go find that Cracked story... thing. Fair enough, though I can't help but wonder if you know that he hasn't flamed anyone, so you're trying to circumvent that little snag. You talk about what he is and how he's denying it. What is he exactly? A bully? A big meanie head? As has been argued multiple times in this thread, there's not enough space for everyone to live in peace. Hopping for an hour just isn't worth it, so what do you expect him (or anyone) to do? Elite moneymaking methods are for the elite. Try soloing Graardor for two weeks and tell us what you think after that.

02-Aug-10 Behind the Scenes August
Wow, practically jumping in my chair over new floors in Daemonheim. I'm finally going to be able to stand Dungeoneering for more than an hour at a time, and I'll definitely be able to get my rapier sometime this decade. The new rewards sound cool, too. Void quest is meh. MA-style game is scary. Still looking forward to Treasure Trails.

Velds - Canceled because I don't like them Dags - Cannon at lighthouse is barely affected by others, and chaos tunnel dags are always open Polinineach - slayer well rarely has people there Warped torts - I said that.... Hellhounds - I said that.... Black Demons - Have you seen the new dungeon? Fire giants - New dungeon + chaos tunnels rarely have people Blue dragons - New dungeon Black dragons - Solo KBD in Non-LS worlds. It also only takes a hop or two at the Evil chicken lair Dust Devils - I've never seen these packed Kalphites - Lousy task anyways Nechs - Chaos tunnels and slayer tower are both rarely full Spirit mages - There's tons of mages, there's 3 good locations in the zammy area to kill them, and rarely all 3 are full, if any. Suqahs - I've never seen these crowded Tzhaar - Fight cave, multi-combat with a lot of low levels, means you can steal their kills anyways, so faster for you Water-fiends - Chaos tunnel never has people there The only thing I don't do in terms of power slaying is use a cannon, and I'm certainly not a low level. What in the world . . . ? My list was of monsters that I am able to consistently clear (or come close to clearing) on task. The presence of another player (the higher level the worse) would slow me down on those tasks. This list is nonnegotiable. I don't see what you're trying to argue, unless you're just trying to show me that lazy-slaying is nicer because it means you can share comfortably. You have to remember that some people (like me) want the fastest experience possible, which means using the best spots and the best methods. I'm not going to use a different spirit mages spot just 'cause little Timmy was there first. I'm definitely not going to slay dust devils in the Pollnivneach well. I can't imagine what you were thinking making that argument. I'm sure as hell not going to slay the KBD if I'm looking experience (though I try to avoid black dragon tasks anyway). You also said "rarely crowded" a few times as if you were making some sort of point. What does the level of crowding have to the do with the fact that it would slow me down to slay with another player in those spots? It just means that it happens less often, which we aren't arguing. EDIT: Actually, Sseli's job analogy is perfect. A lot of people MH because it's fun, undoubtedly, but it also happens to be the best way (besides merchanting) to make money. Ergo, it's a job. If someone is trying to take your job, or is making you unable to do your job properly, you do something about it. In Runescape, this means being the best at your job and showing your boss (Graardor) that you know what you're doing. Your basketball court analogy is terrible. You don't make money playing recreational basketball. Spin it whichever way you like, but at the end of the day, players like Sseli, me, and thousands of other people have to compete with each other for a very limited amount of space. If you can't compete, go back to the grinding block. If I don't crash you, someone else will.

There aren't very many tasks where a slow slayer will slow you down. Only examples I can think of are Hell hounds, warped torts and metal dragons, but that's just because Hell hounds have a slow spawn and the other two there aren't many of. So how exactly is it prevalent in slayer? What? Mutated velds, dags, abberent spectres, warped torts, hellhounds, black demons, fire giants, blue dragons, black dragons, dust devils, kalphites, nechs, spirit mages, suqahs, Tzhaar, and waterfiends are all tasks in which an extra person present would severely slow me down. If you can comfortably slay with another player on any of these tasks, you're doing something very wrong or you're a low level. EDIT: Actually, scratch dags; I don't mind the level 100s running around.

Tbh, I thought the reason for increasing your stat total or purchasing high-end armor was to show your experience in playing the game so that others might come to you for advice or respect you for your pixelated prowess (as silly as that sounds), not to drive others away so you can live in solitary "satisfaction." By your method, the only friends that you are making (I am assuming you have some) are ones of your skill level and mindset, forming a sort of enmity-attracting group that tries too hard to prove their superiority over others. But if that really makes you happy, go for it  Nothing personal, as I can't remember a time I have been crashed, and don't really think I'd care if I had been, but your way of thinking resembles that of a sociopath If Darwinism equates to sociopathic behavior, I can only assume that you do not live on Earth.

Not surprised to see some major flaming of the OP. I'm 110% for crashing. If you have better gear and stats than me, you have every right to take my spot. That said, crashing is an art in itself, so having better gear and stats does not necessarily guarantee you the win. A very good friend of mine (who has posted on this thread) is a 134 or 135 without maxed melees or extremes/overloads, but he can crash most people and win. He's the exception, though. I'm all for competitive gameplay, which is especially prevalent in slayer. If you are on a high population world using bad gear and moving slowly, I'll ask you to hop. If you don't hop, I'll make you. Survival of the fittest. People need to understand that crashing is usually not personal. That 138 did not see you in Edgeville yesterday and think, "I'm gonna crash that [bleep]." It's all about efficiency, so if you're not being efficient, prepare to be crashed.

Farming guide?
Farming is VERY profitable. Even guams will put a nice chunk of change in your pocket every day. As for guides, there are some good ones in the AOW. Farming hasn't changed much over the years. Zaaps1's farming guide. Zaaps1 wrote it, so you know it's good.

Armour Prices
I have a ton of fun playing this game...just because I don't want to make a bad investment doesn't mean I'm bad at this game I make money fairly well usually taking in about 5 - 10m a day If you're making 5-10M a day, then definitely go ahead and buy Bandos regardless of its price. Personally, I think you should spend your money on herblore, but to each his own.

I Need 20-30M. Suggestions?
You should get a dh plate and v skirt. Well, any melee top works really, but I think dh looks best xD The skirt has good def and a prayer bonus, so you cant replace it. You dont need a helmet or weapon, since you should be using a nietznot if not on slayer, a full slayer helm if on slayer, and a whip + defender all the time. This holds true unless you want to get a full dh set for killing monkeys or something with low hp. I barely use Prayer when slaying, wouldn't Torag Legs be more useful? (Correct me if I'm wrong :P) Use the 10% prayer at the very least. It speeds up tasks enough to make it more worth using than not using.
-
I Need 20-30M. Suggestions?
It really depends on what you're doing, but I would highly recommend getting a Verac's skirt, a Guthan's/Dharok's/Torag's platebody (depending on which is cheapest), and a Karil's top and bottom. That'll cover most of your slaying needs until you get to ice wyrms. Use that with a SW cape or Ardougne cape 3 and 10% strength prayer. That's an efficient, cheap slayer setup.

Going back to F2P, help!
You can't get the free membership if you've ever been a member. Sorry.

I Need 20-30M. Suggestions?
Sure they exist, but why would we bring them up in a discussion about HIGH LEVEL slaying methods? That's like saying that a level 40 woodcutter should cut and drop teaks with an adze for the fastest experience rates. It just doesn't apply. EDIT: This is getting way off topic.
-
I Need 20-30M. Suggestions?
Why would we be talking about anything less than a maxed player with the best gear? This is an argument over efficiency.
-
I Need 20-30M. Suggestions?
Using a proselyte top with a SW cape is pointless, FYI. You miss out on +4 strength to save a few hundred GP. Not worth it. In regards to your edit above, why use 3.5 hours as an estimate for the time it takes to get a torso? I've said many times that it's less than 2 hours. Anyway, slayer experience gained must be considered in the calculations. As the slowest skill in the game, slayer experience is worth quite a bit. I can tell you that using the best gear, turmoil, extremes/overloads, a cannon, and a rapier does not require that one makes 4M an hour. That figure baffles me. Even if you went down to a +15 prayer bonus (not unreasonable), you wouldn't even come close to spending 4M an hour slaying. While it's true that a BCP can be resold, the starting money has to come from somewhere. It's still faster to obtain and use a torso.
