  1. Alright, now that the nodes are updated to last longer, essence finally has more of a purpose and it's essential to do hounds/esslings in order to do the nodes. I say we... Compile a list of the best hounds or esslings (in order) for the most ess per time, and, Compile a list (in order) of the best nodes for xp/hr. The basic questions come down to: what's the best way to gain essence, and what's the best way to train on nodes (basically a battle between floor 2 random nodes VS. floor 1 mind storms with random nodes). Post your results as you train :) -------------------------------------------------- The esslings/hounds in question: Air Essling Water Essling Earth Essling Fire Essling Mind Essling Body Esshound The nodes in question: Cyclone Mind storm Water pool Rock fragment Fireball Vine Fleshy growth Fire storm (random data) Conclusion: Fire esslings and body esshounds take longer but there's the xp factor to account for; overall, though, it seems best to do everything but fire esslings and body esshounds if you want to focus that time on nodes. EDIT (6:33pm EST): Essling info is finished and posted in spoiler. EDIT (6:46 EST): Hound info is finished and posted in the spoiler.
  2. I've illustrated the server status:
  3. Was just about to post this. Did the SoF not make them enough for working servers :(? EDIT: ^awesome, seems to work... really long loadtime so I guess I'll see.... EDIT2: Yep, it worked, awesome.
  4. They used to have ads between login on F2P and I was totally fine with it; I'm not sure why they removed it in the first place... you had to wait anyway.
  5. I'd imagine another non-buyable, so perhaps Agility or Fishing (with Farming, hopefully). Runecrafting is another option depending on the Runespan update I'd guess as well, but that skill just keeps getting faster and faster so I'd imagine that's not a top priority. Overall I would go with Agility.
  6. Some people had problems that made the game unplayable, others didn't. Incompatabilities or something, I don't know the details. This. For many it was brought on by the bot nuke, when Jagex massively changed the system around. Personally I hadn't been able to play stably on anything above minimum since October, and only after the update they did a week or so ago did it become stable to play on high. And my computer can play everything else on max-settings. OOOHHHH that might be part of it. I always played in minimum.
  7. What? It was always this bad? Not sure if joking or.... My fps has been totally stable for basically forever.
  8. Fixed that for you. I must be the only player that has no noticeable change in fps over the past year....
  9. Ugh, all I want is the Runespan update!!
  10. ??? The girl is the model for the shirt. I think she's quite attractive. Dunno what your problem is. :P You find her attractive? Setting that bar pretty low....
  11. Awesome, thanks for the info :) I also just updated my submission in case people needed more convincing for why this is a good move, haha.
  12. It functions as more than an appreciative gesture, though, it shows that you agree with that person and/or their information is valid. EDIT: I've edited my post to better reflect this, thanks for pointing it out.
  13. I've seen this button on several other forums and think it would be a great addition to tip.it if enabled (I noticed tip.it has it disabled for some reason). So, some reasons for adding (not sure why I really have to provide this, but I will): There's times where I find I want to show my appreciation to someone for their comment in a topic and that I agree with them; however, I don't really have anything to add to the discussion myself, so the "Like" button would be a great way to show this appreciation. Application example: in the Help and Advice forum, where a "Like" could better show a refutable, correct source of information. Specific example: http://forum.tip.it/topic/310302-news-top-runescape-geography-guru-announced/page__view__findpost__p__5232557. I want to show Miss Lioness that I agree with her and I also didn't know about the event, but as you can assume that wouldn't add to the discussion much, especially since angel13 below her has already told her that they agree as well (so, to comment saying I also agree would get rather annoying with so many people agreeing). In case someone was pondering any downsides to this, there aren't any: since there isn't an "Unlike" or downvote button there isn't any concern for people gaming the forums and hide a post, everything would purely be positive. :) tl;dr: enabling the "Like" button would be great for showing that you agree with someone, they're providing accurate information, and appreciation.
  14. Did any of those get answered? No ffs I have not heard someone use "ffs" in so long.. I actually had to think about it haha, totally caught me off guard too. What has been learned from the Q/A (nothing of too much interest I'd expect)?
  15. Friends was what kept me coming back, but overall I'd have to say my motivation was to reach the point that I could finally quit. The unfortunate part of that logic was that as I approached finishing my goals I would always come up with a reason to create new goals (e.g. nothing else to do, stress from school, friends, etc.). It often felt like an infinite loop until it was finally broken when the strongest chain, my friends, suddenly decided to quit last summer.
  16. My addiction had several swings throughout the years. At one point, up until about 3 years into playing, it was all I could think about. If I was playing a sport, I was thinking about RuneScape, if I was at school, I was thinking about it; this included things like not taking notes in class but instead writing down goals and ideas on scraps of paper, when on vacation instead of going outside and enjoying myself I stayed inside and wrote in a journal about step-by-step things I would do once I got back on the computer, etc. At all times I found myself only able to play RuneScape, to consider other games seemed preposterous (not to say I didn't occasionally play other games, I would feel guilty for owning an Xbox and not playing it so every so often I would purchase Live and play a little). Even to this day, after basically being done with the game for the past year, I find myself unable to get into any other game - but the lack of interest doesn't stop there, I find myself unable to become interested in anything new, and I slowly lose interest in things I enjoyed back when I played (it's like quitting RuneScape dragged my whole life down with it). Staying up until 4 am each night, *and then* starting homework. Going from one the top of my class to nearly not graduating and then working my ass off at the end to make up for everything, that's RuneScape, that's addiction.
  17. You spent an hour on 75 spins? Were you watching tv and eating at the same time? One spin takes max 15 seconds (that's to click spin, get reward and claim it). At that, 75 would take around 20 minutes. I bought 150 spins I probably got another 50 free through playing. So thats 200. The wheel spins around for at least 10 seconds. Alch junk it throws in my bank, discard garbage, mess with lamps, thats another 20 at least. I did it, I know. You on the other hand just speculate and argue. Click the button a few times, you don't have to wait for it to do the whole spinning animation #-o
  18. ~10 You can reduce it to get instant results by doubleclicking the button. Previously you could run to an area with aggressive monsters, open the wheel and click to spin it before being attacked, and then when a monster attacked you it close the window and has the result ready.
  19. I never had the option of not activating it, had to click the link in my email just to be given the option to log in, which automatically assigned the 14 day trial. Also, at least when I played my new char using tutorial, I was not allowed to leave via the gate until I completed every task in the burthorpe/taverly set, so im not sure if they added this after you did yours or not, but was there when I did it. You could open the task list, in the top right there was an "Options" button I believe, click that and deselect the the box for the Tutorial, you were then free to leave. Ah what a nice waste of 2 hours pre-bonus weekend... Well my idiocy aside, still interesting that Jagex has removed the 14 days membership. I had spent 4 hours derping around on the tutorial, trying to complete every quest that they gave me, etc. before a friend told me about the options menu :/ I'd imagine the change has something to do with how easy it was for goldfarmers to create new accounts and generate quick income via members-only methods without needing to pay anything, and then that account would just be disposable at the end, and/or the return rate of membership purchases was low.

  21. Add dragon warhammer, dragon sword, firemake-x, drop-x, end game.
  22. He didn't get any more exp till the f2p hiscore nuke. Never heard anything about him after that. I'm thinking the only way we'll know is if someone is in contact with him.
