  1. Dark is the nature of the series since ... I guess PoA , and the latter half of the PoA movie. The PoA movie was the first to be dark (something wicked this way comes!) and I guess it sort of stuck with the rest of them. Besides, starting probably as Rick said with that book the whole series has been dark, minus perhaps a bit of GoF. And I don't see how DH killed the series, honestly it's one of my favorites. . . . And I am going to set a house-elf on the execs who decided to bump the movie back by eight frickin' months.
  2. Damn you all. I can pass the intro to TTFAF every time now, but the solos . . . bahhhhh.
  3. Nintendo Power did a cover article on the game . . . Let me dig out my copy . . . Basically, the protagonist finds himself in a game called Death Watch where he has to dispatch his opponents in the most greusome and entertaining way possible. The violence is completely over-the-top in order to remain light-hearted instead of dark and serious. And there are minigames. One of them is called Man Darts. You knock people towards a huge dartboard with a baseball bat. I don't know how much of this can be found eslewhere, but that's the most coverage the game has had I believe.

    Nessie > Bigfoot.
  5. I've read Moore's book about the Philadelphia Experiment, and it's some wacky stuff. Supposedly, the US attempted during WWII to make the warship USS Eldridge invisible. It worked, but the ship was spotted in a bay hundreds of miles away during the time it was invisible, and when it returned most of the crew were dead in gruesome ways. That's the story anyway. Kinda makes me doubt the current claim about invisibility as well.
  6. Guns and blood do not make a game. Just as sex and violence don't make films, but you still see films filled with both. And you see Nintendo games filled with neither. Miraculously, this lack of mature content somehow does not impact the quality of the game, nor people's enjoyment of it. If you are going to argue that Nintendo sucks because the games are kiddie omgz, then it logically follows that the only good games are the ones that contain such mature content. Which is absolutely not true, but (Shadowfax) you can't try to tell me that people don't say these games are better than Nintendo because of the mature content. If they didn't, Nintendo wouldn't be called out for lack of it.
  7. Hoooooooooooooooooooohhhhhhhhhhhh Huummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. I will never, ever understand the mentality that "(Insert FPS/RPG here) is a better game than Mario because it has GUNS and BLOOD!"
  8. You know what I hate most about the new Pokemon? Every single freaking one has the same face. Big eyes, stupid smile, no matter what it's on. Those aren't Pokemon. I can't fault the continued strategy aspect of it, but the designs . . ugh.
  9. I recently watched The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen (pretty meh movie) and I love Skinner's (the invisible man) accent. It's British but with a specific touch. Similar to Claude's from Heroes.
  10. Mud-slap. Because that's how the Chosen One defeated the Human Barometer.
  11. I love Impulse! Saidin will probably FC it! PINECONES! BTW, Saidin, I just recognized your username. WoT FTW.
  12. Case B actually happened to me before, only I was innocent as charged. Basically, I was sitting behind a girl in a study hall and was sort of staring into space. All of a sudden another girl who was turned around talking to the first goes: OMG! Were you just looking at her butt?!?! Me: Uh . . . no . . .
  13. They almost dropped him for the fifth movie, but Rowling made sure they put him in. But it is still going to seem totally out of the blue when his story comes along. He had like five seconds of screen time. I finally got the opportunity to actually watch that trailer, and it looks great. Really sets a good mood. Hopefully Yates will do this one more justice than he did OotP. I still can't believe that the longest book was adapted into the shortest movie, and it suffered for it. I hated that he dropped Quidditch, and now we haven't seen a Quidditch match since PoA, and that one was short. Hopefully we will see Harry as Quidditch Captain and everything in this movie.

I just ate a peanut butter sandwich on toast. After seeing this thread again, I'm off to make another. With the ends.
  15. This reminds me of going to a private middle school. Random 4th-grader: What party are you? Me: Um, IDK . . . I think my dad is a democrat . . . Random 4th-grader: Democrat! You stoopid! They support abortion!

I actually like those pieces. They make good toast.
  17. You're starting to sound like a Rock Band fanboy. Watch yourself :P I find both GH and RB to be great fun, but to me GH is better. Rather than the Guitar Hero charts being overcharted, it seems like a lot of the Rock Band charts are undercharted. Whatever the case, I like a more difficult chart, as long as it doesn't stretch believability. (Some of the customs for Eruption . . . Jesus.)
  18. Apparently they've given that up. At least IV will have it, as the system will be an in-game shop. TBH, I'm going for Guitar Hero World Tour, hands down. RB2's setlist is very good, yes, but GH's is shaping up to be pretty awesome too and they've only released 23 of the songs. Plus, I still have a problem with the square notes of RB, and the generally easy guitar parts. If there is one thing Guitar Hero won't change with IV, it's the excellent charting.
  19. WHY do we have to suffer a Linkin Park song? WHY?!?! And I HATE Eye of the Tiger as well, ever since we had to lip-sync it for eighth grade graduation. That was probably one of the worst experiences of my life lol. The rest of that article, however, is indeed full of win.

Is it just me, or are things around TIF starting to turn too personal? Anyway, I'm not sure what to think about this. I liked their first album, but who knows, a new lineup could be a change for the better.

Hehe, that nerd one was hilarious. I don't really keep up with web comics besides Misfile, but I know the good ones if I want a laugh. I also know the bad ones to stay away from. VGCats & CtrlAltDel  Not webcomic related, but my local newspaper has started printing Pearls Before Swine. Which I find ironic to the extreme, considering it appears alongside crap like Marmaduke.

Pearl Jam. Never liked Nirvana, and I can't help but think that they would not be nearly as celebrated if Kurt Cobain hadn't died. And if he hadn't died, we would have no Foo Fighters. Foo Fighters > Nirvana.
  23. Dear God don't. If you value your sanity, don't. Breaking Dawn is the worst of them all too.
  24. ID cards for internet access? Please. The world wide web isn't a frickin library.
