[TF2] It's MANN Vs. Machine!
Hey guys, Just a reminder that the discussion of Real World Trading of Jagex items (cash on RS included) for real-life services is not permitted. A few posts were removed for this and although I don't feel there was malicious intent behind the topic coming up, we want to avoid slipping into a place where it starts being encouraged. Thanks for your cooperation! Cowman_133 Tip.It Administrator

Anonymous Threaten Canadian GP
Personally violent protests/riots drive me nuts. I can get behind peaceful protests and I have been a part of many myself for a variety of different things. But as soon as things start to get violent, no matter what the cause, I cannot put myself behind it. Two wrongs cannot make a right. While I do not agree with the need to protest a tuition hike, I respect the right to protest it, but violence is so unnecessary and gives the government reason to take action against the protesting because they're causing harm. I'm the kind of person that cannot watch footage of riots and good stuff being destroyed for no valid reason - it actually physically pains me to see those actions. That being said, I will admit I have not read a whole lot on bill 78 but regardless I think violent protest against anything is unnecessary and a waste of everybody's time, especially the citizens (students particularly here) who are being affected even though they don't want anything to do with the protests.

Anonymous Threaten Canadian GP
Tuition prices in Quebec are lower than I have to pay here on the west side of Canada... and significantly too. I have never been a fan of the Quebec government and Quebec politics, but this is not the way to fix it. Needless to say, this attempt is rather laughable, but as always it is interesting watching what people actually end up doing.

Tip.it gets hacked and doesn't send email users?
Hi there, I am truly sorry that your personal privacy was put at danger due to the events here at Tip.It. Obviously it is never our intention to have the information stored here at Tip.It available to anybody else - this is against our Privacy Policy. I'm sure you are probably aware that the accessing of this information was a criminal act and not something we would willingly allow to happen if we had a choice in the matter. What actually happened, long story short, was that the hackers had access to the server for a limited amount of time in which they were probably able to download the entire forum user database. We are not able to tell exactly what was downloaded from our site, but we can safely assume they took anything containing user information that they could get their hands on. At the time, our primary focus was of course re-gaining full control over our server which we accomplished pretty quickly, but the inevitable had already been done by the time we had it back. As Hedgehog mentioned, we did have notices for our regular users plastered all over the front page and our forums, but it was a bit of an oversight to not send out a group email to all of our users explaining the situation. I actually can't remember if we did or didn't make an attempt to send out an email, but I would not be surprised if it was indeed an oversight. If this event could be replayed, we would certainly have done that. I make no excuses for the fact that we did not do this back when it was relevant and unfortunately it was a costly mistake in some ways. On behalf of the admin team I am very sorry this has caused grief for you and I hope that not too much damage has been done as a result. Sadly, this isn't a whole lot else we can do at this point to aide the situation. The criminal act of stealing our database is, in this case, comparable to that of a hit and run car accident in that it is hard to pin responsibility on anybody in particular besides the criminals. While we definitely accept that we are trusted to keep the information users give us safe, it was honestly just a bit out of our hands that these things happen. Our security wasn't exactly lax and it was the little things that enabled them to get into our server, not gaping, obvious and inviting security holes. If you have any further questions, feel free to get in touch with me or any administrator via private message. Kind regards, Cowman_133 Tip.It Administrator

Stellar Dawn put on hold
Until Jagex actually proves to me they can release a quality game and not either give up on it (FunOrb) or scrap it before being released (MechScape, Stellar Dawn, whatever the hell it's called these days), I'm not convinced they will be releasing Transformers either. RuneScape has been their only successful game. I thought FunOrb had potential, but I guess they thought it didn't. I can't imagine what a crappy job it must be to work there right now given that they are "restructuring" so much and nobody probably knows if they will still have their job the next day... Come on, prove to me that you can release a game. You've yet to do so.

Xp Pop Up Icons
Sucks even worse when you missclick the giant circle. They leave you this tiny little box in the top right to frantically click out of. I've yet to do that, but I can see myself being pissed with that sometime in the near future.

Xp Pop Up Icons
Lol. I have noticed sometimes my XP meter starts at 0 and moves its way up to whatever point I am at. Other times it just adds to where it already is. I personally find it really cool and I won't be turning it off - but I wish it worked properly. One thing I do dislike about them though is the ingame skill guides are now a 'fullscreen event' meaning you can't see what's happening to your character while you're looking at it like the world map.

Tipping
I will tip if my server does an extraordinary job or if I particularly like my haircut. But I will absolutely not if they didn't work for it. A tip should never be automatic or expected and people who expect one will never get one from me. It makes me mad when I hear people complaining that a customer didn't tip them. Because what's the point in paying more for a service you didn't particularly find worth more than what you paid for it? I agree that people should not make a big deal about it.
