How Experienced Are Our Tip.Iters?
Combat Level: 86 Total Level: 1065 Highest Skill Level: 90 fishing Highest Combat Skill Level: 87 range date that you started playing: September 2004 Knowledge of the game: 60% of both FTP and PTP. Not bad for someone who has never been PTP before. Like Paw_claw said your numbered phrases have nothing to do with any sort of knowledge in the game. This thread should also have something that includes how long you have been playing as well as that directly correlates with how much knowledge someone has accrued.

How Unions Are Ruining the Economy
Time to rip this apart 1. Wikipedia can be easily edited, but cans till be a reputable source on soem things 2. This is a fact for the U.S.! If all of the unions were to disband overnight working conditions would return to pre-1930s and any laws passed since then would be repealed withing the next 10 years or so. Remember, the vast majority of companies would be glad to fire anyone associated with a union. 3. With the causes of inflation, wages must go up and without the unions forming the overall majority of both Americans and Canadians would be livning in "extreme poverty" according to todays standards of living. 4. Do more research on the issue before presenting a clear one-sourced arguement as it gives you no grounds to do so. Positive Affects of unions: 1. wages stay current with inflation 2. Working conditions are forced to improve or the companies that are not doing so are boycotted or picketed and therefore going out of business. Believe me it is not a loss for companies like this to go out of business altogether. 3.Before the union movement really grew the vast majority of large companies used their own money in order to trap their own workers in to "company towns" where they had no chance of paying off the debts they accrued because of how low the pay was. 4. the mandatory breaks passed in both countries has actually increased productivity as it gives the workers a chance to rest and therefore able to do more things at a constant pace. This also goes for the 8-hour workday in the majority of businesses these days as before unions were in place a company could have you work non-stop if they wanted to. 5. This one is for non-uionn workers, but unions helped to get it passed. A company could fire you without cause or reason even if you were clearly the best worker they had. These days all employers in both countries must provide a cause or reason as to why they are firing you or they can be sued. This also goes for working beyond a person's scheduledhours as no employer in either country may fire a person for not responding to a call. http://www.justlabour.yorku.ca/Livingstone_Raykov.pdf http://www.psi.org.uk/docs/2003/research/emp-union-wage-premium-us-uk.pdf - I know it includes the UK, but it does have the US in there as well. http://www.princeton.edu/~ota/disk1/1993/9343/934304.PDF

Is runescape salvageable?
As of now if you watch the numbers on the page of the main Runescape site you will notice that Runescape is dieing a slow death as the mindset of the majority of players begin to change. What I mean by this is the many bugs that are constantly talked about in the rants forum there, the ones that are not spam at least. the vast majority of players in runescape are starting to look past all the distractions that Jagex put out there and are beginning to demand that all these little errors be fixed instead of new additions being added to the game. The highest i have seen the number on the front page is less than 200k on a constant basis, in the past few months starting June, now and in the 60k range during off-hours. If Jagex was fixing anything those numbers would not be so low. I am sure we all remember, for those that have been around that long at least, when it was 400k+ at peak hours and still 200k+ during off- hours. I am currently 90 fishing and I am starting to notice that I am fishing slower than I did when I was in the 60s on through the 70s. Mining- This particular skill has been left behind since the Runescape classic days and that skill is mining. Although some skills have been updated in recent years mining has not, yes I am aware of the keldagrim update and it is barely used because of how it is set up, had an overhaul which it is in serious need of. take a look at "coal" this is the most random rock in all of mining as you can either one-hit the thing or sit there for 3+ minutes pounding away at one. Fishing - as was stated above some of the fishing skill needs to be overhauled instead of bringing in more additions like the " barbarian mini-game" which has really devalued quite a few people's achievements in the skill. Some suggestions are coming out that the people who earned the exp previously should have their exp increased based on how much exp you can get per hour there and in some cases just plain doubled. woodcutting - Although it really isn't noticed much, but the recent update about the removal of the "axe-heads" when they break off still has not been done as I just recently had one break off 2-3 weeks ago and the same goes with the mining "pick-axes" flying off as well. The respawn times of some trees need to be reworked and the "ent" random needs to be completely removed as it is entirely ineffective the vast majority of time against all of the "robots" out there and it just annoys all of the normal players. Runecrafting - the ZMI altar is nothing more than a distraction from the update that was promised over a year ago now such as the "blood" and "soul" altar. there was once a message stating that they were craftable, but to this day we have not seen them come out. another thing that was a blow to the runecrafting skill was the wilderness-ditch, you know whom that thing was for, which has slowed abyss runecrafting down quite a bit. Magic- the vast majority of spells in both FTP and PTP are unused and instead of adding new spells which makes old ones completely useless why not rework the entire skill and make every spell worth using. Many are starting to suggest that the damage caps should be removed and that the level of damage should be comparable to your magic level and whatever bonuses come from the clothing, by the way this is just like the strength skill. If you want you could keep the damage cap and give each specific spell a "special" effect that is unique to that spell-type only. Range- Look above at magic Player-killing - FTP pking is completely fine as it is, but unfortunately pay-to-play is beginning to reach the constant "one-hit" zone with it's weapons while still only having 99 hp. Many are beginning to suggest that the every weapon be entirely reworked to involve strategy instead of whoever gets in the first hit. Another thing that they did wrong with the wilderness is the latest update concering "player vs. monster vs player combat" where now pkers take precedence over the monsters. Take a leisurely walk around the wilderness a couple weeks, and I do mean take your time walking around, when was the last time was it so easy to just walk the whole of the wilderness without seeing one person? The answer is never as one could always find someone running around there, but now it seems only the lower levels of the wilderness are on a constant occupied status because of that update. Even the Hobgoblin mines are empty now because of it and runite prices will soon skyrocket because of this since half of all the runite is located in the wilderness, I am talking in the long run here. Overall, a vast majority of things in Runescape need to be entirely reworked in order to get players to come back. If they do not, soon that number will be like when I started, I started in September 2004, and those numbers are less than 100k even at peak-hours and maybe 30-40k at off-hours.

Should a members only skill be opened up to f2p?
I have come up with a compromise to this situation. Why not open up all the skills that you can make items on, but make all the end products still members only that are not already free-to-play. I think that would be temptation enough for quite a few to go over to members. Yes, I am FTP and I do already have enough to do as it is. Or how about this situation.... They could open up very specific items that are so rarely used in members, but would still be useful on FTP.

Do you have your favorite world? and why?
I use world 15 as I see at least 10+ people there that are regulars on a constant basis. That and it is the least laggy server there is.

A survey on "gender discrimination" in the job market.
If you truly think it is a waste of time, why did you even bother posting in this thread? Another thing is that most surveys are based on these sort of questions so in order to find contradictions. That is why I am asking the questions despite what ever results I may get. I really just want others views on the matter based on those questions. Yes, I did come up with the questions and yes they are set.

A survey on "gender discrimination" in the job market.
Hi, I am doing a survey on "gender discrimination" and thought I could get the views of the community here. This survey is for my "Inequalities in society" class. What country are you from? Do you think that "gender discrimination" is widespread depending on the job that the person is applying for? Why do you think that is? Do you think that the current laws in place in your country are effective in preventing "gender discrimination" in the job market? If the current laws are not effective should there be laws put in place that are "tougher" than the ones already in place in order to crack down on employers that do this type of discrimination on a regular basis? If you do not think that "tougher" laws would be effective do you think sending a message to the employer by boycotting their establishment would be more effective? I look forward to reading all the replies.

Is runescape really getting bigger?
The only real way of telling if runescape is growing or declining is to keep track of how many are logged in at various times throughout the day. the best way to do this is to keep track at 6 hour intervals starting at -0+ gmt an then go from there. I expect to get any real idea of the numbers you real have to keep track at least 3 or 4 months on a daily basis.

Iran, Mutually Assured Destruction, the Strangelove Scenario
I hate to say it , but even if iran were to start their nuclear program now they wouldn't be able to have the weapons grade material fo at least another 9-12 years. Iran has also already tried to negotiate with the U.S. as well, but our "war-criminal" commander-in-chief Geroge W. Bush would not even attempt at negotiating. Iran tried to negotiate with a middleman aka Switzerland. Another thing though is the fact that there ahs been no proof offered that Iran is even going to develop the weapons. Anyone remember Iraq abotu all that flimsy evidence offered? Anyone who falls for the mass media pushing the war this time around should go take a test that tells whether or not they can think for themselves.

Africans Less Intelligent Than Westerners?
Meh, race is a socialogical construct because when you look at it all humans can breed with each other. It would take tens of thousands of years for what that scientist is saying to be true. Of course, that is saying that all of a sudden all of the continents lost all contact with each other.

Very Hard F2P Quest-The Scourge Part 1~V1.4~20 Supporters
I don't support simply because of the rewards. 1. the scourge amulet would destroy the power amulet market 2. the exp for all the skills seriously needs to be toned down because it is even better than legends. 3. the "scourge blade" reminds me far too much of the sword "frostmourne" which you recieve during the campaign of Warcraft 3 for the humans. this leads me to believe the quest is completely derived from Warcraft lore. Which leads to this question. Did you really come up with this on your own?

F2P discrimination getting out of hand.

What does your username mean? Why did you chose it?
Strago Magus comes from Final Fantasy VI and come from a village called Thamasa. Since "Kefka Palazzo" was already taken in Semptember of 2004 and was also raised on the outskirts of this town I thought it quite suitable to choose him as a secondary name. He is the grandfather of Relm Arrowny( I also own the name in Runescape) in the game and is also the father of Clyde Arrowny, whom is also known as Shadow. He is also a blue mage whom has the ability to learn the abilities of his foes and that is also something I have in commom with this character.

F2P discrimination getting out of hand.
I truly do understand this mentality that comes from the members side and in my opinion they have no right to treat the FTP players like they do. I am not saying that all members are like this but a great majority are and are also unwilling to listen to an FTPs side of an argument a great majority of the time even when they make some very valid points. Take this conversation I recently had when selling some Zamorak wines as an example: Stragomagus(thats me): um, the thread said 900 each. nameless(can't remember the guys name): Bloody cheepskate nameless: ty Stragomagus: have a nice day (he logged out before I could say it) Now originally the guy had put up exactly 500,000gp for 563 of the wines expecting me to be an ignorant FTP player when it comes to member prices. He was in fact quite reluctant to even come from an member world in order to even trade the money for them. He also could have meant by saying "Bloody cheepskate" that I was a "cheapskate" for enforcing my price on the thread, be reminded that someone else had to post the thread for me on the ®une(s)cape (O)fficial (F)orums (and thank you for helping even though you would not take the 20% I offered just for making the thread), which the total amount to be paid was 506,700gp. There also could have been a double-meaning to those two words in that I do not pay for the game even though that is not true since we FTP players have to deal with the advertisments and sometimes I do end up clicking on them. There was also this other person that would not even make an attempt simply for the fact that it was an non-member world. The great majority of people I mentor end up going on to members, and forget where they started, and usually have become quite arrogant once becoming one. I have lost 3-4 friends to the "arrogance" factor of members simply because i was not an member myself. As they say though, "the minority usually shows through the most and end up ruining the fun of others", and in the case of Runescape the saying is backwards for members while staying true for FTP. The RSOF is a great place to take note of all the so-called "hate" to FTP, take a look at the "rants" and "suggestions" part of the RSOF at anytime and you begin to notice how much "arrogance" floods them once something for FTP is even mentioned.

How Long before Jagex deletes accounts?
I understand that as I wanted to be named "Kefka Palazzo" but it was already taken way back in 2004. to answer the question,no, they do not delete account as there are far too many inactive accounts to handle.

BANK SPELL GET IN YOUR BANK WITHOUT GOING TO THE BANK
Um, ignore all these previous posts as the forums were glitching at the time when all of them occurred.

BANK SPELL GET IN YOUR BANK WITHOUT GOING TO THE BANK
Well, I can see this working on only one condition and that is if it has both a high cost and that your magic level is extremely high. Bank spell requirements: 1. 99 magic 2. 10 death runes, 10 law ruines, 10 air runes, and a special variable that uses elemental runes depending on the closest bank. This of course will vary on the ones without teleport spells to go off of.

The only way and I do mean only way this could work is if it was 99 magic and had a high cost to it. Bank spell requirements: 1.99 magic 2. 10 chaos, 10 death, and 10 law, and a variable for an elemental rune depending on the closest bank. for example: 1 water for falador bank, 1 fire for varrock, 1 earth for lumbridge and al-karid, and many various other variable with towns that have banks but no teleport spells.

The falador smelting house is just a bit closer using the west bank rather than using the alkarid one.

Defend the Ruined Fort
Back story: Out in the depths of the wilderness there once was a mighty fort. This fort was the last defense against the evil forces of Zamorak. Although little remains but broken walls; evidence suggests that there was once a great battle that determined the fate of this once great bastion during the war of the gods. The Zamorak team will need a red cape and the Saradomin team will need a blue cape. 3. any type of food will do, but as said for the gear, the better food you have the more likely your team will win. Rules: 1. Anything goes while fighting in this war, so feel free to prayer up as this is a god war after all. 2. Come ready to have fun. 3. When dead feel free to come back and observe, but do not come back ready to fight. Meeting locations for the teams: Saradomin Team: the church just before you enter the wilderness in varrock. I will be more than willing to postpone this for a full week and a half if it means more people will get a chance to join in the fun. *edit* date has been changed so more can come this weekend. It is still taking place on a Saturday though.

Range from 72-80 F2P?
a couple months ago I went from 72-82 on 20k bronze. picking them up netted me a profit of 1,000,000+ at the lessers. In other words those arrows cost 140,000 and paid for themselves at close to 9x what I originally paid for them. Some of the best places to train from 72-80 range are the: Whiteknights- using the tables - 12-13k an hour Dark wizards in the wild- though not as safe as it use to be with the wilderness update hobgoblins out by the crafting guild When I go there for cowhides I see rangers using telegrab in order to get all those goodies. Bandit camp- assuming no one comes the entire time since it is multi-combat hill giants- yeah they are okay but are highly crowded at almost all times lesser demons- one of the best places to range in f2p and also gurantees you will make a profit for anything below steel arrows. they can also be the slowest place to train at times. zombies in the stronghold of security- regularly drop steel arrows and can pretty much stay there forever as long as the walls are used Minotaurs- like everyone else has said they drop iron arrows on a constant basis and since there are barricades all throughout the floor and can therefore can stay forever if nothing is picked up. I hope this helps.
