Caskade's new pixel sig!
Cant see your background update but liking the character : , the hands look too small though, or mabye its just the gloves..? If so don't just use runescape as reference, search for gloves on google, see how they look on people. looking good though, not too keen on the over dithering but overall it works.

Rate My Sig
very simple but I suppose you've gotta start somewhere, 2/10. you should check out some photoshop tutorials and learn as much as you can about the program, then try use what you've learnt to make sigs in the future. Ask others, look at other peoples work etc. goodluck.

Linework for Shading practice
wow sorry for the double post :ohnoes: issy the purpose of this thread is to use what people have posted to practice colouring in, not to simply thicken other peoples linework, you won't learn much that way. Either post you're own linework or try colouring someone else's in.

Linework for Shading practice
I'll contribute.. practicing with hands.. something simple in isometric.. oh and I fixed that woman a bit, not perfect but it makes more sense.. oh and I chose some relevant colours if anyone wants to use them, as this is shading practice not colour pickin practice : yeah I made an example. enjoy.

Pinhole camera photo
I was wearing a black beanie, im not emo :shame: Well Evilperson the pinhole camera was originally facing the wrong way, so I ran over and turned it slightly, which is why I am slightly transparent and why its fisheyed/bent around.. The developed image looked like this. I just inverted the colours and added a slight bit of colour to it. Im aware that it also comes out backtofront (like a mirror image) but it doesn't look as good flipped. Im thinking of making an album cover for a mate like this. I see Smelly all the time, not spoke to im yet though. preditor it all depends on your exposure time, we started out on 4 minutes exposure, but non of em worked so this one was 10-20 minutes, we weren't keepin count though :P.

Pinhole camera photo
I dunno lol, it's the only one that turned out ok. we stabbed a whole into a quality street box then taped over it.. Put some photography paper inside and just exposed the picture for like 10 minutes by taking the tape off and puttin it back on afterwards. Im the one who didn't move. comments welcome. :thumbsup:

Animated Gifs - Added my longest yet - C/C please
very cute, reminds me of my old flash stuff. : Hard to tell if thats a skateboarder or someone jumping hurdles in the first one the face is great, no comments cus it make me laugh. The ball could be better with some squashing as it hits each wall. The fourth one is cute, you could have added a cloud or two. They're all good, but I would suggest trying to be more daring with what you animate, everyone does stick men.

Experiment ...

Hey guys, new pixelor in town ^_^
That shield is actually poorly dithered from where Im standing :-s , all it's doing for it is giving it an all over textured effect over an over noticable gradianted shading. Though that symbol in the middle is kinda neat. Welcome chaostayoko, I've seen you're work before and you're making some great improvements, I prefer the smaller pixels to the larger ones but a big plus for trying something considerably harder.. I can understand how it can be hard figuring out how some people approach art work Viktor, you see everyone starts out learning basic shading, learning where the light would hit and how it would effect the object.. As it gets more complicated you do eventually learn to shade correctly but drawing from observation is the only way to learn. If you want to be able to pixel I strongly suggest you try draw something yourself and get used to shading objects and people.. Drawing metal, glass, plastic, textured object etc really helps too because light effects certain objects differently and can be near impossible to just draw of the top of your head. Pixel-wise chaostayoko has used the same concepts but with these he's used dithering where you merge two colours by patterning the transition from one shade to another. http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/e ... d_blue.png at 100% it should make it look smoother, as it's a trick of the eye. But really should be used only where necissery.

Pixel Sig (Updated Sky)
I feel like given some advice since you're probably not bothered. If you find anything helpful in what I say, all the better. I don't see why you've shaded the sun as if it was any other object, have you taken a good look at the sun before? And the sun at that height would surely change the sky's colour.. more orangey maybe.. Also that water looks very shallow, your guy's not gonna catch anythin.. :( Again I think people here have the general cocept of landscapes, but don't feel the need to add anything in the distance, or add any bushes, rocks etc.. Just Hills that hide the fact that the land is scarce.. Look up some references to add that little bit more to your pixels.. And try add more contrast to your shading, use less colours because to be honest from my seat I can't notice any shade difference in 90% of your picture until I really look close.. If you don't mind I've sketched out what I mean.. you need to think about composision and perspective. And don't use too vibrant colours, the duller the colour the greater the contrast can be. I do like this though, but it bothers me that someone who I know is potentially great isn't bothering to plan his pictures, references are great for any artist, you will benifit greatly from just taking the time to look and sketch what you see.

First Pop-Out signature
yay u got it working, cute image : in photoshop you can adjust the quality to the size you want in 'save for web' (in File), it really helps reducing the number of colours too :).

Pixel Shark--> Finished
why should you care? as I said, it doesn't effect you in the slightest.. :-k are you going to search the web for any shark picture now and critisise their reasons for drawing a shark? Just take your time preditor, if you're not happy with it you can always edit your work, if the shark looks too realistic compared to the guy adjust it so it looks a bit more cartoony, if the guy looks way too cartoony try look for references to help you see why.. And you've got a whole forum of people willin to give their opinions.

Pixel Shark--> Finished
Well I don't think it's fair that because you pixeled a shark no one else can, it's not like you've dibbed the idea. A few people making sharks doesn't effect you in any way, also sharks are probably the first animal that would pop into my head to draw/pixel, because they're fairy straight forward animals to draw.. looking good but I do think the shark needs much more work, the line on it's nose just looks oddly positioned, and for a shark his nose is kinda flat. everything else is great, but for his left (our right) flipper you've used totally different colours to what you've used on his body, there's just no need. I understand it's underwater but there still should be a light source, yours looks pillowshaded. I also don't understand why you've used white to draw in his eyes, mouth and gills, they should actually be much darker.. The linework doesn't say, cartoony to me.. With the water the dithering is a good idea but feel free to dither it further into each colour, and don't be afraid to break out of the pattern, it looks too standard and gradiented.. Here's a quick edit to show ya how I would approach this, I'll remove it if you ask, cus It is your thread.

Making things invisible..
I heard that in the new windows vista, paint has been totally updated to photoshop standards, but after a look I don't think so. But maybe they added a transparency option? http://gearmedia.ign.com/gear/image/art ... 734469.jpg Im going to either be an Animator or an Illustrator pjb21 \ EDIT, after some more searching I think I was right, well they're definately working on it.. http://www.getpaint.net/screenshots.html

Making things invisible..
well I got photoshop CS2 : . well almost every program you could think of, but I do spend most of my time on paint, I must admit. =P~ My 24 year old brother is a game programmer / DJ (just got himself a record contract :XD: ), my 22 year old brother is a Graphic Designer and my twin brother who's 17 is in college workin to be a computer programer.. If I don't have a program, I'll betcha one of my brothers would. :)

Making things invisible..
erm, well, when you go to save it make sure the background is transparent, with no hidden layers. Like this one, look at my layers box. http://img152.imageshack.us/img152/6833/1qc8.png and when you go to save it as a gif make sure the transparency is ticked. Other than that I have no idea why yours has a red background.. :-k

Pixal sig
I have to disagree ter... The shadeing on the people and their anatomy is some of the worst i have seen in a FINISHED pixel sig before Well it caught my eye straight away, and the colour choices for the sunset is beautiful but yes I do agree the characters could be improved, the perspective is totally wrong, colours don't work in places, shading is a lacking in places, but I almost don't want to focus on th people too much as the sunset is such a great focal point.. I suppose you rate art on what you're expectations are, maybe im just in a good mood Nazgul :
