Pixel Sig - Finished! - Edit: ...
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anti-aliasing thats what AA is for, if you're creating pixel art you should at some point learn it, but it doesn't mean you have to use it on everything, only were you as an artist feels it needs to look smoother. Here's a quick face using simple AA. Using it too much may just make it look too blurry. Some great tuts on http://www.spriteart.com/main.html, St0ven has AA tips.

Pixel Sig - Finished! - Edit: ...
I know you've said this is finished, but it just seems a shame you've neglected the background, I would have added so much more.. Here's an example, just sketched in some scenery. Remember you're perspective.. Two other things, a lot of this is very blurry, at one point did you save it as a JPG? last point is, the arrows look very short for that bow.. :-k

I personally like pixel art to look smooth, and make the most of the colours used. But I do love the sketchiness of the pinate, it maybe looks a bit too rough IMO but what do I know im a single opinion among many, :) . So don't listen to me if im full of crap. :XD:

a landscape in black & colour (artwork)
thanks Quer for your kind words : , I know what you mean :( it's scary working with something that just can't be taken off once applied to the page, so maybe I just took the easier options with the shading. I'll try draw some tree's and practice some different methods. I got a palette knife I think, but im still only a beginner at actual painting, I've got a grueling few weeks ahead of me before you'll see some good work, anything atm is just trial and error so be fair if I post something that totally sucks. :ohnoes: . Landscapes are amazing to view but I've never been able to get it right, this is really just an opportunity to study em for like future reference, even if it may be hard. Thanks Pjb21, it's hard thinking of what you can actually achieve within a deadline, so im trying to do as much as possible as for the end of this term I have to have a completed painting to hand in as well as a 40 page sketch book filled with painting studies, drawings, research, photographs and with full anotation. I've almost finished the sketchbook, all I need is a few finalised idea's for reference for my final piece. ~Ter

a landscape in black & colour (artwork)
Im planning to do another 2 inked landscapes this weekend, I've quickly sketched another one out already but it's all just practicing with composistion and perspective really, my final piece will be an actual canvas painting using gouache paints. gonna be hard but hopefully it'll be good. :ohnoes:

New Pixy- wc sig for brad
don't worry im not bothered, I suppose learning directly from others will help you in the longrun, a few people in my class only draw from photographs, and images of the internet, it means they can't draw from real observation very well but they are getting much better.. This isn't considered ripping as he hasn't actually taken it from that sig, just used it as direct reference. Well I don't know how you all think about it but seriously im don't mind. the clouds are from venomai's tutorial, as stated.

MY WEAPON
yes the metal should be shiney, but you've got to take into account that it is metal and not rubber, look up references to help ya, cus the colour wouldn't be soo vibrant if you were going for a realistic approach. And the wood shouldn't be shiney at all.. I like the shape of your axe, but im imagining it to be something you'd see in like Worms or something, a cartoony 3d game.

Ringling School of Art and Design
erm wow, you're searching for a High school, im looking up Universities.. :anxious: im expected to go next September :ohnoes: . Im just not ready yet !! :( aw Kuroi, I know how you feel a lot of the places im looking at need me to have a foundation grade in art and design or they just won't take me, which is weird because I'll have like 4 A-levels, which is bascially much much better than a lousy foundation grade. Im thinking of doing an Animation or Illustration course atm. If im talking gibberish just nod and say yes. (im from England btw :-$ )

a landscape in black & colour (artwork)
Thanks guys im glad im on the right tracks, of course you can jak. The rocks were done using a rubber solution, painting in some random rock shapes, splattered some dirt colours using watercolour pealing the now dry rubber off leaving white shapes, and then painting in the rock shadowing. It's an easy method really. The grass was easier still, just slopped a mess of grassy colour in a sqaure and used my nails to scratch off some grass shapes, all your doing is taking off wet paint. The landscape is pretty straight forward but not as quickly done, just sketched out a landscape off the top of my head, and went straight into it with a pot of indian ink and painted it in, you need to be patient cus if you make a mistake you can't un-do it..

:-k your characters are still very small Rerg, I would advise doing something bigger, or if you like that size, try make a sprite instead. But that aside im seeing some improvements so well done. :

New Pixy- wc sig for brad
that dude looks familiar :-s im not too fussed but yeah be more creative in the future , well nice job so far I don't know what you're going to fill the rest of the picture with but composisionally I would have made the guy and the table larger for a focal point. He seems kinda lost of the bottom off the page if you know what I mean.. also the tree doesn't look very natural, goodluck anyways.

a landscape in black & colour (artwork)
(first try at this alert) Im doing a landsscape project so im constantly drawing/sketching landscapes over each weekend when I go to the countryside, taking a few photo's if I need to. And this was just a piece done in like an hour or so using black indian ink on paper, no references more of a cartoony approach to what im studying.. A lot like what you would see in clipart. This is just a version coloured in photoshop, only wanted to use block colours as the intention is to develop this style to use for a printing plate for the start of my next term. and the black and white version to whoever's interested.. two small things aswell, practices rocks grass lol well hopefully studying landscapes will help with future projects because backgrounds are usually quite hard. :( cheers for any comments.

MY WEAPON
looks good, but yeah it looks kinda shiney. can you add any self-made textures onto your objects? (totally new to 3d stuff) cus maybe that would help with rid of unwanted shiny-ness. But no don't ask me anything I could never find my way around 3d studio max. :wall:

Pixel of my Room
well I don't think anyone could live in a room 300x200 pixels. looking like a nice Iso  , are you going to add smaller items to it like alarm clock, computer, clothes, books, bed-stuf etc??
