no I don't I guess I explained it wrong, depending on the colour you've chosen, to darken it you move through the spectrum towards blue (blue indicates cold, dark) and if you want to lighten a colour move closer to yellow (which indicates light - warm). In this example below shows what I mean. Instead of simply lightening and darking a colour like usual, using the spectrum combined adds so much more to your colouring. may not be the best example becuase I just did this really quickly but I hope you get what I mean.

just press print screen on your keyboard dude, takes a picture of your screen, after you press that key, press paste in any design program (like Paint) and it'll pop up.

well I see colour as, lighter = warmer (your red's orange yellows) darker goes through purple to blue. To get from the warm skin colour to black you just move through the colour spectrum. this illustrates it well I think.

^^yeah thats an awesome tutorial right there =P~ I think this needs a bit more character, try steer clear from generic round heads, clean up your lines and just keep tweaking it until it looks the way you want it. Theres nothing really wrong with the proportions, it's a cartoon character so I shouldn't expect dead-on human proportions for this.. I've got something like this in mind. :-k lol

well most pixel artists refuse to work in programs like Paint because you don't have full control of Hue/saturation/contrast/lightest. It tends to waste precious time as intially, most pixel artists work to a deadline for someone. programs like Graphics gale have these options built in, but nothing stops you from flicking into photoshop if you prefer working in Paint. My screen's quite dark so I was expecting it may be too bright for you.. :-k There's nothing really wrong with her eyes.. thats a bit OTT

She just doesn't have any pupils.. liking this, but I think you've used way too many colours, also it doesn't hurt to tweak your colour saturations. I made a little edit, reduced it to 32 colours and used you're colours to smoothen the face in places. Gave her a smile :) Try make the most of the colours you have, but other than that this is pretty good. You're improving.. :

don't worry about it, if you want, sketch out something and let us help you with it. I don't think it's a good idea to have only 1 and 2, as that whole part really needs to be worked on as a whole. So maybe you could work on some linework for the whole 4 squares, being as creative as possible and others can help it look better and possibly help with the colouring/shading if need be. This is a collaboration, I don't see why people seem obliged to doing everything themselves and not asking for assistance.

well gl eckered, I check this everyday and you begin to wonder, how long is too long.. Im sure there are many people who could complete several of these iso grids in the time I've waited for just a handful of sections :lol: In this time I've actually moved house, passed my driving test and gone on a weeks holiday to the canary Islands =P~ , this could have been completed aages ago. Im starting to epathise with robalan (the starter of the pixelation collab grid.).. There's started 7th April , finished 12th October. Thats 188 days it took to complete :o . I don't wanna wait that long :ohnoes: today's the 58th day for us. :lol: yeah I've resorted to working stuff like that out.. :XD:

well the thing is people have reserved tiles, and aren't posting anything. If you want to take some blank tiles feel free to xman, im trying hard not to do the same as it should be curtasy to wait for people to post progress as they did reserve.. But seriously I just want this completed, if people aren't gonna post I don't see why we can't just complete this ourselves. :P

Tablets are great for digital art but I'm not sure if it transfers into 'pixeling' too well. Pixeling is about placing each pixel manually, where you place them isn't effect by whether or not you use a tablet or mouse.. I do have a graphics pad but I just can't get it to work, im so used to using a mouse anyways so as long as my mouse works I wouldn't see the need for it.. But yes a tablet works wonders as your just drawing into your computer. Brad, im not sure what brand's are best but If you want your tablet to work well I would seriously think of investing in something much more expensive, mine cost ÃÆââ¬Å¡Ãâã40 and the bleedin thing doesn't even work.. It works but doesn't configure with my screen too well, maybe it's just mine but I've got the impression that the better quality tablet gives you better results.. Anyway back to your initial question, I've always tried to just use whatever methods I can to make using a mouse easier.. There's nothing stopping you starting out rough and eventually tweaking and altering until it looks the way you want it to. This is something I did ages ago to show someone how they could have pixeled a character in this position. making linework smooth isn't depended on whether you have a tablet or mouse, it's your judgement as a pixel artist, you decide how it looks. Don't buy something if it clearly won't help you with that..

As people are obviously not bothered about posting progress or even posting anything at all, I would love to see this complete so if anyone wants to fill in a section or two that would be great. They donÃÆââ¬Å¡Ãâôt take months to make guys, I spent around 2 hours all together creating my own tiles, which really flys by.. so, anyone please contribute towards this. Im tryin to stop myself from doing any more of this myself, this is a collab afterall.. -Ter

Im off on holiday for a week guys, but any progress would still be great : well a small update here before I go, I had a go at AAing some parts to make it visually better IMO, but I'd respect if you prefer it how it was.. I added your tiles Fortress2000, fixed em slightly but I do think it looks too plain, if we all did a wall for our tiles it'd just look really dull, and I personally wouldn't want a wall to reflect myself as an artist.

Well as no one's posting any progress at all I've decided to fix the parts I felt were letting it down as a whole, also I've added my latest ..
