  1. You use the word "ditch" too much in the first paragraph. There's a handful of spelling and punctuation mistakes. Otherwise, pretty good. Welcome to Tip.it.
  2. WoW, and many other games, are also repetitive. But by no means do the developers of those games conserve their money rather than spend it on the game. RuneScape and all the other games are updated frequently, but it's very hard and risky to change the gameplay. Sure, Jagex could make it into a sort of hack-and-slash, but that'd be expensive and would probably cause major riots. They spend it on ways that will please the players at the minimum cost (read: maximum profit). Surely you cannot be that naive? Of course, because they don't want to waste their money on unnessacary extras the players don't care about. But that's far, far, far from letting the game run by itself while they count the money. And radical (more so than these updates) updates on the most basic gameplay mechanics of a game = bad idea. Which is really a pity, since I can get much better from a decent single-player RPG. MMOs emphasize different aspects than single player games. Just read the post way above... You know, that one about trading, PKing, staking, merchandising, et cetera? Yeah, that. How exactly are the old features more "mind-engaging" than what we have now? The features that aren't "work" are still here (minigames, most quests, etc., though PKing is arguably worse.) I really hate it when people who don't understand PKing try to talk about Bounty Hunter like it's a good thing. I didn't say it was better than old PKing, I said it was more mind-engaging. Fair enough. What in the bloody blue HELL am I going to do with 30k? Fair enough. No. The game in whole. Every single corner and interesting aspect of the game that existed. I can see how people might be upset and quit over this update. But don't pretend that all, or even majority, of the fun things in this game have been removed.

I'm not sure what game you've been playing, but just let me clarify: this forum is about RuneScape. The quests are some of the most complex in the MMO market. And I fail to see how it was any better before this update. You can't imagine what has been lost for some of us. Okay, merchanting is gone... there are plenty of other ways to make money. And PKing... is now more fast-paced and "mind-engaging", though I can understand how some people might see this as a loss. Monster hunting... has been postponed temporarily until Jagex updates LootShare (hurry up!). And gifts are now limited to 3-30k. Most of the game is unchanged.
  4. No risk, no excitement, no fun, no danger, no skill, no sharing, no giving, Shall i continue? Please, elaborate. The updates were nessacary. RWT was slowly ruining the game. Really, only a little has been changed. And the worst has already passed. Jagex said that they aren't going to do any more radical changes in the future.
  5. I remember the previous rank contest being held just when I registered. Just submitted mine. Hope you like it.
  6. The thing is, if you are still developing your reviewing skills, then you shouldn't suddenly review seven stories.
  7. How is rubbish worse than terrible? And no offence, but these reviews are a lot less quality than the ones Sephiroth King and Xewleer used to do. Maybe more detail?

Are ducks lots of fun when diamonds fall from heaven? Yes, but only when
  9. Pets aren't sprites, they're 3D models. Sprites are just images. No. Java can do way better than what RS has right now. The thing that's limiting it is the fact that it's browser-based. Yes. Yes, it does.
  10. Looks like they're finally stepping up their quest production rate. :D How about four quests for February?

Texans -Are stupid. -Are all cowboys. -Have lots of guns. -Are drunk. -Wear cowboy hats and flannel shirts. -Shout "yee-haw" all the time. -Execute people for minor offences. -Don't know what "Mexico" is.
  12. Eh... no idea. "Is a man not entitled to the sweat of his own brow? No, says the man in Washington. It belongs to the poor. No, says the man in the Vatican. It belongs to God. No, says the man in Moscow. It belongs to everyone. I rejected those answers. Instead, I chose something different. I chose the impossible. I chose Rapture."
  13. This is the perfect incentive for Jagex to start churning out some more quests. There were only fourteen this year. They should have at least 180 by the end of 2009.
  14. Being a god, he did not actually exist on Gielinor. He did take a form on the planet, but it was not where he lives.
  15. Didn't like the title. Plus, I've decided what the plot is going to be like.
  16. Yes, it's a sad thing, but it isn't entirely the game's fault.
  17. "ideas of new games" as far as i know there is only 1 new idea - mechscape "The CV's of alleged current and former Jagex staff claim that Jagex has been working on a space MMORPG since at least April 2005" 2 years , 2 and a half ... as i said its a lot of time so ... it wont come soon ... yea i heard about this but i also heard about another game which name wasn't given....still a little ironic if you ask me that this games ideas would be released around a major crisis in Runescape. Companies make multiple games, because more games=more money. They don't just do it to replace their current one.
  18. As far as I know, the Dec. 10 updates have made almost no impact on the number of players. Who can be surprised that it's on the list? Almost every English-speaking minor living in the world has played the game (slight exaggeration). But no, it will never be number one, because it simply isn't good enough.
  19. Nice. I agree with you on almost everything.
  20. I recommend Perfect World or Anarchy Online. And Rappelz is only going to disappoint whoever tries it out. I tried it once... and quit within a few days.
  21. Yes, but you can easily make the improvements they suggested within a couple of minutes or so. Especially the paragraphs.
  22. If RuneScape were from China, all players would look the same and be in the same clan. That clan would be called the Player's Liberation Army. If RuneScape were from Soviet Russia, we wouldn't be playing. The game would be playing us! If RuneScape were from Canada, the guards in Varrock, Falador, and everywhere else would look the same as the Edgeville guards.
