In my opinion, F2P RuneScape isn't even close to being the best F2P MMORPG. The reason it's so popular is probably because it's browser-based and fairly simple to play. It's pretty common knowledge that RuneScape is the most popular free MMO. I don't see why it needs a newspost.

Kill the trolls in the cave that you go through in order to get to the GWD from Burthorpe. There's four mountain troll spawns. They hit hard for their level so wear good armor.

Longswords are definitely underpowered. Unless you have very high strength the difference between the two would be insignificant. It's not worth the roughly 15% speed bonus that the scimitar offers. Rune scimitar is the best melee training weapon in F2P. Period. Oh, and rune warhammer hits at the same speed as a battleaxe, not longsword.

It would be easier to just leave things as they are. Removing Castle Wars, BH, etc. as well as all the quest buildings would take a lot of unnecessary effort.

Use the dwarven mine under Falador. I doubt it's as good as the Al kharid one was but it's faster than coal.

I noticed that you don't factor in the drops you get when you calculated the cost per charm. In many of your trips you have over 100k of loot (10% of the cost of spells) so it would be more like 3.6k per charm, not 4k.

Salmon are more cost effective than wine and they don't reduce any stats. I always use salmon for training. Nice guide, overall. The methods you have aren't great moneymakers but they're nice finds.

Why don't you pick up the air and water runes? You're using prayer, who cares about inventory space using this method? Even if you use B2P (where a single inventory space is very valuable) it's incredibly stupid to leave the airs and waters on the ground. 320 kills could get you close to a thousand of both airs and waters, more than snapdragons. And why don't you pick up other herbs? I highly doubt you got only ranarrs.

I was providing pacts that were formed during the Cold War. NATO was formed during the Cold War, in 1949 if I'm not mistaken. The recession the US is going through is nothing compared to the Great Depression. I doubt it's even the biggest recession that's happened since WWII. Besides, the American economy is still growing, albeit at a very slow pace, though that's mostly due to inflation. But if there really was an economic meltdown the GDP would be dropping.

I think that, since PKing is going to be restored, RuneScape will become one of the longest-lasting MMOs in the history of video games. After Ultima Online and EverQuest have faded away into insignificance I expect that RuneScape will still be a thriving game. As far as I am aware of it's the oldest MMO that's still growing.

You don't get the air and water runes? You can easily get hundreds of both in a trip, so they are worth far more than most herbs. And wouldn't it be a lot more cost-effective to kill them without any protect prayers? They do not hit hard at all, especially if you use a granite shield, and they drop bones so you can use bones to peaches tabs.

I'm pretty sure that single nats are still better gp/hour than mining pure ess.
